In 2013 the Marketplace Trust system has been introduced on the Bitcointalk forum. In short, its essence is that by default ordinary users trust the opinions of DT1 and DT2 members. Only the forum administrator can add or exclude users from the DT1 list. It currently contains 13 accounts, one of which is probably auxilary.- UPDATE: On January 9, 2019, the Marketplace Trust system has been modified. Nowadays the list of the DT1 group will be changed in accordance with certain rules. In addition, DT1 members can add other DT1 members to their distrusted lists, such a way they will exclude these users from the DT1 group if opinions are consolidated.
The list of the DT2 group is based on the current overall trust from DT1 members. If one DT1 member adds an ordinary user to his trust list, that user gains +1 score and becomes a DT2 member. If this DT1 member subsequently excludes him from the trust list, that DT2 member becomes an ordinary user again. If another DT1 member using the "~" character adds a DT2 member to his distrusted list, that user gets -1 score but remains in the DT2 group with a zero rating. If yet another DT1 member adds this DT2 member to his distrusted list, that user leaves the DT2 group and becomes an ordinary user again. In this case he cannot be included in the list of DT3 and further. By default the trust depth is 2, therefore ordinary users do not trust the opinions of the members of DT3 and deeper. Since user trust in each other is always changing, I decided to create the TOP-200 of the most trusted users in the groups DT1, DT2 and even DT3. There are 100 users in the full list of DT1 members: theymos gmaxwell OgNasty Vod vapourminer mprep Foxpup philipma1957 babo d5000 joker_josue albon jeremypwr dbshck hybridsole stompix hilariousandco buckrogers willi9974 JayJuanGee NeuroticFish achow101 examplens nutildah minerjones yahoo62278 bitbollo pooya87 LFC_Bitcoin ezeminer digicoinuser mocacinno Real-Duke klarki LoyceV The Sceptical Chymist SFR10 TryNinja ekiller Jet Cash condoras Gunthar Russlenat finaleshot2016 giammangiato buwaytress crwth comit Ale88 Vispilio Baofeng be.open Koal-84 krogothmanhattan roycilik CryptopreneurBrainboss hugeblack Best_Change KTChampions Coin-1 bavicrypto GreatArkansas JeromeTash 3meek logfiles Bitcoin_Arena MinoRaiola Agrawas GazetaBitcoin Maus0728 tvplus006 coinlocket$ mole0815 witcher_sense Heisenberg_Hunter DdmrDdmr shahzadafzal Lakai01 morvillz7z Husna QA cryptofrka The Cryptovator lovesmayfamilis DireWolfM14 notblox1 1miau Harkorede Little Mouse YOSHIE Awaklara mandown efialtis geophphreigh bullrun2024bro Charles-Tim Lillominato89 Free Market Capitalist paid2 YodasRedRocket Learn Bitcoin The following tables show user names and current trust scores. Please note that the following lists are based on the Marketplace Trust network, not on feedbacks.

My first three posts have been updated. I added current user ranks to the tables.
Lauda has been excluded from the DT2 group this week. Currently DT1 members trust 163 users.

The trust list is based on a person name included in the trust list of someone. Not based on a feedback from a DT. Otherwise, imagine all the members the DT 2 would have considering all feedbacks left by DT 1 members

Well, wonder know how many "used to be trusted" members are kicked from the list for scamming other users... Trust system should be seen as a way to avoid scammers not to trust members.

I didn't understand that distinction between getting a positive trust and being included in a DT member's trust list until about a year ago, and for a while I'd assumed I was in DT3 since Vod had left me a positive trust. Lutpin set me straight on that one, IIRC. What an idiot (me)
That's exactly how I felt at the time as well. lol Whew. I didn't realize (or had forgotten) that there are that many members in DT1/DT2. I don't see many of them active anymore, unless they hang around sections I tend to avoid, like mining and securities.

I would argue that this thread is unnecessary, because there is already multiple compiled lists that do exactly what you are seeking to accomplish here. https://bpip.org/report.aspx?r=mosttrusted This is Vod's rendition of the most trusted users around the forum. I do not mean to sound discouraging, but what exactly are you bringing to the table/conversation that is not already available or has not already been said? I appreciate the effort, and find these kind of things interesting, but you're sort of recreating the wheel if you ask me.

A bit bizarre that this user is trying to create their own “most trusted” list that doesn’t use the current trust system scoring method. If taking the time to do this, it could at least reflect the reality of the system or be called something else like Vod did.

It would seem more coherent to make an articulated list of changes that you believe should be made to the Trust system, rather than creating a "fork" of the trust system within a thread without much explanation as to why you are doing so. I don't believe our trust system is perfect, but if you're going to create a thread about "The most trusted" it would require that you explain your criteria, especially since you're not just compiling the highest trust score, but using other criteria.
Do you believe that your thread here does a better job at representing the marketplace history or accrued trust feedback than our current system?
A bit bizarre, I agree.

https://bpip.org/report.aspx?r=mosttrusted This is Vod's rendition of the most trusted users around the forum. I do not mean to sound discouraging, but what exactly are you bringing to the table/conversation that is not already available or has not already been said? I appreciate the effort, and find these kind of things interesting, but you're sort of recreating the wheel if you ask me. I know about the useful resource made by Vod. Please note that my lists are based on the Marketplace trust system, not on feedbacks. Let me explain how I create this TOP-200. Every week theymos publishes the dump of the Marketplace trust system here: https://bitcointalk.org/trust.txt.xzThis file does not contain feedbacks. The "->" substring indicates a positive trust, the "-/>" substring indicates a negative trust. My analysis can read this dump and create TOP-200. Best wishes.

Consider me doubly confused then, because I've been under the impression for a long time that Trust-Feedback and Marketplace Trust are one in the same. I'm going to need this explained to me, because either I am misunderstanding what you are saying, I don't understand the trust system or you are talking sideways. How are you considering the Marketplace Trust without the Feedbacks left through that system? In your OP it has philipma1957 listed as a Full Member, with the trust of 5 (+6 / -1) scores, help me understand.

Ranks are fixed just now. That's a step in the right direction, I suppose, for at least the sake of functionality and accuracy. Still though, I am left confused by the following line, which is just one example as there are many. 9) philipma1957 Legendary 2 scores 5 (+6 / -1) scores
It claims that a DT2 member has given a negative rating to philipma1957, unless I am misunderstanding the table and accompanying key. Can you help me understand what the -1 score represents in this particular example?

Can you help me understand what the -1 score represents in this particular example? As I can see in the dump of the Marketplace trust system, 2 DT1 members trust philipma1957: OgNasty->philipma1957 Tomatocage->philipma1957
6 DT2 members trust philipma1957: MarkAz->philipma1957 hedgy73->philipma1957 EcuaMobi->philipma1957 suchmoon->philipma1957 HagssFIN->philipma1957 TookDk->philipma1957
1 DT2 member does not trust philipma1957:

Okay, then I understand where your numbers are coming from; my argument would be that your wording is a bit confusing or misleading. Calling them "scores" puts my head somewhere else, maybe it would be better to just refer to them as "inclusions" and "exclusions". I think more people would immediately know what you are talking about if you were to tweak your wording a bit.
I appreciate the clarification, but maybe instead of saying you're basing these ratings on "Marketplace Trust System" you could say something like "Trust lists", or "Trust Hierarchy". That's just my two cents, but if all of this information is available for everybody within a couple of clicks, how is it helpful to post it in thread format? Hope you don't mind me asking.
I'm pretty interested in hearing the reasoning behind dogie excluding philipma1957, but that's discussion for another thread.

Heh heh, looks like DT3's a cool place to be, look at the company I'm keeping.... and I don't get outraged scammers inboxing me with abuse for Red Tagging them (not very often anyway, unless they've checked their "junk" untrusted feedback) And just to confirm what I think is so: If you go to Trust summary>Trust settings>Trust depth (max 4) and change the default from 2 to 3, then all the feedback that DT3 members have left will appear (for you only) as red/green numbers under the appropriate profiles and in their "trusted feedback", just as Levels 1 and 2 do by default setting?
maybe instead of saying you're basing these ratings on "Marketplace Trust System" you could say something like "Trust lists", or "Trust Hierarchy". That's just my two cents, but if all of this information is available for everybody within a couple of clicks, how is it helpful to post it in thread format?
As far as I can see, it's just an easy to read summary of the hierarchical version of the trust network which as you say, is available within a couple of clicks, but also rather opaque (to me anyway). I don't think OP's trying to set up a "Trust Fork" or reinvent the wheel, from what I can make out.
