I invest several crypto projects back in 2017 and got a huge return on the last bull run. I would probably say that in this bear market I saw many scammy ICO that clearly the people behind it have no experience what soever in this space, but I also some potential ICO project that success launch their project and even the ROI from ICO is quite huge. Always double check the team and vision that the project offer will help you dodge scam ICO.

Well if there are a real project (With trustworthy Team) which is really willing to distirbute Their tokens! There are Many ways Without Doing ICO!

ICOs should just get funded from VCs and do an airdrop to community.

Most ico can be done open source on github for free.. the greed in creating all of these project is stifling growth. A lot of innovation come from free open source project from passionate developers.

Im 3 years in this field and strictly advice you do not invest in any ico at all.

You are right there's nothing on ICO's deserves our money, in fact, new coins are now transferring to IEO it's more safe fast and convenient and considered to be a good replacement, in the last 10 months no ICO's have reached their softcap, some ICO'S ARE FAKING THEIR VOLUME to make them attractive to the eyes of investors.

During that bull run days, scammers took away numerous ETH wallets with phishing links and spam tokens. ICOs are no more reliable to invest in but not all IEO projects are safe for investing too.

I don't agree with you. Just imagine for a moment that you became an early Ethereum or Binance Coin investor and bought a lot of coins at a price below $1. What profit you could get in 2017 or even now. This suggests that there are no bad ICO, there are bad projects that do not reach the level of Ethereum, Binance and other successful projects.

Indeed, not all ICOs are scam, there is a lot good project and have good prospect in the future. Because ICOs scammers in 2018, right now many investor trauma to invest in ICOs and they switch their investment to IEOs. This thread is almost 1 year long and we still see many profitable IEOs held on the biggest cryptocurrency exchanges.
What does it mean? That still IEO makes sense and could be very profitable, you can multiply your Bitcoins in a short time, but always DYOR.

Seriously, some projects are really serious in their plans with ICOs but I don't see their value, they probably don't update the new trend, why still follow ICOs while IEO is leading, they have an effort with the project, with the child they create but they are automatically destroying it with their hands, that's funny. IEOs are now ruling the market, the fall of ICOs happen in the beginning of 2018. Right now, there are many investors that are interested in participating in IEOs but there are also risks because some of IEOs are not legit where they are onky creating fake projects to get money from their victims. It is still better to trade listed coins in exchanges than to participate in IEOs and ICOs.

Everyone has their own decisions and reasons for investing and not all ICO projects are scams, there are some projects that really develop their projects based on the roadmap that has been prepared.
