48   Lauda   Ann   1-2% (with a 0.005 BTC minimum)
Has been excluded from my trusted escrow list as Lauda has negative trust.

Now I guess you have to include her due to her huge come back in dt1.

Also if you mind, would you update my recognition rank? as I see, 'twas been updated in bpip.org.

Just a warning:  Even if someone looks to be trusted and have a long history of good behavior doesn't mean they won't turn out to scam if the price is right.  I have been a part of other forums/marketplaces before and saw my fair share of reputable members scamming after years of good service.  Just something to be aware of, most people have their price that they will scam for.

[...]
Most users knows that, if what escrow service he will use. The most recommended to use a service is an escrow who did active lately not just does have a numbers of trust.
And as what as I see, most in the list are active and can be trusted but there are few I don't consider.

Got your point and bitcointalk gave it's user's a lot of freedom. Anyone has a choice which escrow the person will and which will not. Also if anyone disagrees to use any escrow that might be ok if the other person is okay with that. Using escrow is safer than not using escrow. If the amount is too big then they should use multiple escrows instead of one.

And as what as I see, most in the list are active and can be trusted but there are few I don't consider.
Almost all users on the list are active and also they have several trade histories except 2 persons which I am still observing.

Thanks for the list everyone that needs an escrow should see this thread they can easily find trusted escrow, I personally liked bL4nkcode he pays on time in signature campaign that I joined. Its hard to maintain a thread like this what if one on the list got a bad behavior so you need to check one by one every time thanks for the effort.

OP did great job by making this topic, but I don't think that's very difficult to keep it up to date. Majority of escrow providers have builded their reputation in long years by providing their service, and it's not likely that someone of these people will become scammer or something similar

Earlier I have updated the list base on recognition rank but just now I have updated it base on the most trusted rank of BPIP. Note: There might have few mismatches as it can change anytime. I will try to update once a week or at least once per month.

Does it bother anyone else that currently the top 2 rated escrows on this list have escrowed (without transparency) an ICO that cost those who trusted them to safeguard their funds millions of dollars in losses and that they're only atop this list due to a circle of trust abuse along with their escrow partner, a documented extortionist?

16   Lauda   Ann   1-2% (with a 0.005 BTC min)
I have removed Lauda as there are several negative trusts as well as inactive ones on the forum.
59   yogg   Ann   1% or 0.002BTC min
I have removed yogg from being turned into a scam as well as being inactive.

74   PsychoticBoy   Ann   1% Fee
I have removed PsychoticBoy for several negative trusts as well as inactive ones on the forum.
298   bL4nkcode   Ann   1% - 2% (0.001BTC min)
I have removed bL4nkcode from the list as bL4nkcode has several negative trust active flags supported by several DTs and was inactive just woke up recently from a long period of inactivity.

I will update edit/remove a few more later. I will also add a new escrow too if I can find out a new service.

Edit: I have just updated the trusted rank.
Edit:
5   DarkStar_   Ann   0.0005BTC, or 0.7%
I have removed DarkStar_ as DarkStar_ stopped escrow service.
I am temporarily pausing my escrow service. Going to be very busy so won't have a ton of time to dedicate for escrow transactions unfortunately.
213   ranochigo   Ann   1%
I have removed ranochigo as the announcement thread is locked.

Edit:
I have edited the escrow fee.

I have edited the escrow fee.
There's a small correction for Dabs: He updated his fees back in December of 2013 [the minimum fee is 0.03BTC], but for some reason, he forgot to also update the opening post of the thread.

Does anybody know why Blazed has been inactive for the past 27 months?

Thank you for letting me know, I have just updated it.
Does anybody know why Blazed has been inactive for the past 27 months?
I am sorry I do not know but I have still not updated the list base on only inactive. I will do that though.

I have just found an escrow service announcement by GazetaBitcoin which I have added to the op.
If anyone can see any misinformation then please update me. Also please inform me if need to add/remove any user on the list, thanks in advance.

This 4 Dudeperfect, TwinWinNerD, ninjaboon, Blazed has no activity more than 5 months already they should be considered inactive.

While bittawm and John (John K.) is inactive since december, also their ann thread was last updated or has a reply more than 3 years at least, they should be considered as inactive in the list unless they post here or in their ann that they are still accepting escrow transactions.

I have not yet excluded based on the inactive only (I have removed based on inactive+red trust and/or only based on red trust or only based on the lock announcement thread). Soon (next week probably) I will update based on the inactive and I will consider an inactive user who is inactive for at least 90 days.

Thanks for update! But fact that significant number of people from this list become scammers or ruined their reputation. Escrow isn't just some random service, it's thing where people trust other poeple with their money, and often it's big money. It shows that even most trusted members can turn into scammers one day, especially when there is big money on the table.

No idea, maybe someone who have closer contact with him may know. But seems that he is another famous Bitcointalk member who disappeared strangely :/.

You are obviously right. But those who have been scammed (turned into scammers) have a good reputation. In our country, we have a prover regarding police (Police who eat sweets and those police take bribes) and I think all the people have a trust limit except a limited number of people. For example, I may not scam 1000$ But I may scam 10000$. I have seen several cases like this both in the forum as well as in my real life.

Fair thought. But i would have put at least a "NSA" = Not Sure if Active or something similar status or just remove them temporarily or what.

Because escrows should be very responsible to update their ann threads at the very least to let their future clients knows their status. As their name goes up in every escrow list, scammers will find ways to copy them and find victims. Escrow list thread can help preventing such things to happen in some way.

But fact that significant number of people from this list become scammers or ruined their reputation. That's the reality of how money can affect someone. A matter of fact it falls on "money is the root of all evil" thing.

Hey shasan, great job with this topic! And thank you for listing me in OP!

As I said before, I had the intention to create such topic myself, without knowing about yours. Having this in mind, I contacted all escrow providers from the other two topics I knew and asked if they are still offering the service and if any change intervened regarding their charges / conditions. I PMed on Jan 19th the following users: OgNasty, SebastianJu, John (John K.), PsychoticBoy, Dabs, bittawm, willi9974, minerjones, zazarb, Lutpin, SFR10, Hhampuz, krogothmanhattan, realediston, MoparMiningLLC. So far only willi9974, minerjones, MoparMiningLLC, OgNasty, zazarb, Hhampuz, SFR10, and krogothmanhattan replied.

willi9974, minerjones, zazarb, SFR10, krogothmanhattan and MoparMiningLLC are still offering their services.

Hhampuz does not want to be listed. krogothmanhattan is not offering escrow service anymore.

Since SebastianJu, John (John K.), PsychoticBoy, Dabs, bittawm, Lutpin and realediston have not replied in almost a month I think it's safe to not have them listed. Besides, not all have an immaculated reputation here so it's better this way.

So here are the suggestions I have for you:

1. Remove SebastianJu, John (John K.), Dabs and bittawm, due to their inactivity. Since they are not active even on the forum (not to mention that they were unable to reply to a PM sent in their interest in almost one month) I don't think they are still interested.

2. Add willi9974. Here are his details:

- cryptocurrencies you accept
--> BTC and some alts (most of the top 10 alts for other please ask)
- what items are you escrowing (only BTC / BTC and altcoins / physical goods too / digital goods too etc.)
--> international BTC and alts and in EU physical goods possible, depending on the topic
- what amounts are you willing to escrow (min / max)
--> no min and max value
- fees;
--> min. 0.002 BTC or 1% of the escrow value
- your escrow thread.
--> german topic https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1466069.0 and will be in the next time updated and also a translation into englisch there

3. Add MoparMiningLLC. Here are his details:

Yes still offering escrow.

- cryptocurrencies you accept

BTC is preferred - willing to take other cryptocurrencies on as needed basis.

- what items are you escrowing (only BTC / BTC and altcoins / physical goods too / digital goods too etc.)

will escrow everything except digital goods - used to do these, always proves to be a shitshow.

- what amounts are you willing to escrow (min / max)

no limit.

7. Update SFR10's offer:

8. Delete Hhampuz and krogothmanhattan per their request.

Hi There!  Thanks for asking but at the moment I am not.  Thanks again and goodluck with the list

No need to add any of my info, thank you!

9.
List updated.

48   Lauda   Ann   1-2% (with a 0.005 BTC minimum)
Has been excluded from my trusted escrow list as Lauda has negative trust.

I think that best reason for removing Lauda is that her account was banned at her own request Smiley

10. Regarding the note from my profile, respective:

Free for the first transaction after completing the first transaction fees will be added

can you change, please, "transaction" with "transactions"?

11. I suggest you to PM Blazed (although there are low chances for him to ever reply, since he was last active in 2020), TwinWinNerD, ninjaboon, BitCoinDream, and Dudeperfect, for making sure they are still offering the service.

12. Last, but not least: I would recommend you to add a column for min-max amounts and a column for what stuff the user is escrowing. Besides, maybe you can PM the final list and ask what yahoo62278 said in my thread from Meta -- "Do you think it's important to only add escrows to the list that can provide proof of funds for the amount they're willing to escrow? If users are truly supposed to feel safe with an escrow, then said escrow should be able to cover/insure a deal if something were to happen."

Anyway, this is up to you if you want or not to implement these changes.

I hope this helps. Let's make this thread the most visible upon Google searches! Maybe also a new topic title may help in Google searches.
