well if it aims to stabilize the price of btc and make it stable during payment is a good thing but there are many projects like this and the crypto itslef aims this wihtout any intermediare so I think it won`t have too much effect in long term

Germany has been one of the countries that has been friendly towards bitcoin for some time now. for some reason we don't hear from it in the news that often though. and although the source of this news is not reliable but the news itself doesn't sound that unrealistic. with the adoption of bitcoin growing many merchants have been accepting it.

Really interesting indeed, and it seems 2019 bull run is inevitable. Even Ethereum is delaying their upgrade to 2019 and there are some good new that will be implemented on  2019. If this happen, then 2018 is the last year that we see crypto prices in bargain. I hope 2019 will be a good year and more  adaption in crypto.

Really interesting indeed, and it seems 2019 bull run is inevitable. Even Ethereum is delaying their upgrade to 2019 and there are some good new that will be implemented on  2019. If this happen, then 2018 is the last year that we see crypto prices in bargain. I hope 2019 will be a good year and more  adaption in crypto.

They know if Bakkt and Fidelity is successful, the Bitcoin price will go up and people are more eager to spend coins when the price is higher. So it is a timing thing for them, based on what happens to the end of December.

So far 2018 was a huge disappointment for a lot of people and companies are hesitant to launch something if there are not some kind of light at the end of the tunnel for this thing to succeed. It is also Bitcoin's 10th year anniversary.

It kind of sucks that people have to use payment processors to spend Bitcoin when that's exactly what it wants to prevent, but I suppose it's a good short-term measure. I just hope these existing options don't dissuade merchants from accepting Bitcoin directly in the future.

But yeah, I would be psyched about this if I were German.

I really doubt merchants will be enthusiastic about accepting bitcoins directly considering how volatile it is and also considering they are simply in business to make profits..

Accepting the bitcoin directly could propel them to incur losses as the price is definitely never stable

It could be setup in a way that automatically converts the bitcoin to their local currency this taking the risk out of it, I have seen this in other programs.

They could also just save the bitcoin and make a nice profit in the future.

There are prerequisites for the fact that we will see an increase in the popularity of Bitcoin in 2019 due to its integration as a payment in online stores in Germany. Only an increase in the use of Bitcoin as payment can increase the demand for cryptocurrencies and increase interest in them. Why would we need a payment processor to pay BTC directly to the merchant? I don't understand that.

I do not think that this will somehow affect Bitcoin, I see it as a step towards meeting the adoption of Bitcoin worldwide as a payment unit. The question is whether those willing to spend bitcoins will be in such volumes. Most cryptocurrency owners hold coins, waiting for the growth of value.

The issue of confirmation times I'm sure will limit this, because people will just not want to hang around for 10 mins or longer to complete a small purchase with bitcoin
