I'm pretty quiet around here because I'm a newby but I am the CIO of a mid sized investment company and have been an IT Professional for nearly 40 years now and I've seen pretty much everything. I'm also a part time hacker buster and bitcoin miner.

Like many of you I'm quite interested in the new generation of machine in the 2 TH/s speed range and what's available because I intend to buy one and I've done my research.

In terms of companies that really appear to be scammers - at the very top of the list is:

http://www.xtrememiners.net/ : Although no one has proven they are complete scammers, no one to date has proven they're legitimate either - I have communicated with them and asked for any shred of evidence to prove they're legit and have gotten nothing - in fact email to them started bouncing last week.

next on my list is:
http://minerscube.com/ - they're semi responsive but I have repeatedly asked for a physical address and have to date received nothing. In addition they list BTC as the selling price of their equipment. This is utterly stupid because as we all know the value varies based on elements out of our control - I think it just goes to show how stupid these particular scammers are.

A possible third is:
https://www.bitkeylab.com/ - I've been communicating with someone there named Chris and he has been very responsive right up until the point I started to 'vet' him and asked for a reference or the name of his banker or anyone they've done business with - since then SILENCE!!! - I could be wrong and I hope I am, but do your due diligence.

The last one that concerns me somewhat is:
http://www.blackarrowsoftware.com/store/

They seem very legitimate and even have a forum but complaints are starting to popup from people who have asked for their money back on the new X-3 and have yet to receive a refund. To my knowledge they have not delivered a single piece of equipment yet to anyone in the world - I could be wrong and please correct if I am wrong and googlemaps cannot find their address either.
801, Building 2, Huangduguangchang, Yitian Road, Futian District, Shenzhen, Guangdong, P. R. China, Postcode: 518048

I hope I'm wrong about them since they're my fallback position if bitkeylab turns out to be a scammer.

I know that www.minersource.net is selling their equipment and minersource.net is a very legitimate company - I know because I've purchased from them and they're great to deal with, but I do have some lingering suspicions about Black Arrow at least until they've delivered something.

just my humble .02

I would not buy from Black Arrow Software for now.

I have not personally purchased any of their products but have had some exposure to them through the DZ Co-Op. There were lots of issues with some of their previous products and as far as I am aware they offered no compensation to the customers who purchased the products which under performed due to poor mining software that left the products almost unmanageable on a large scale.

There was some hinting around compensation due to poor mining design and performance, but I am not aware of being received.

I think the Co-Op did the best they could to look after the members who were stuck with the under performing mining package.

To this  the equipment was replaced but the errors were  from the bitfury + cgminer / chainminer

thomas_s you guys did everything and more to protect the members and my comments are not intended as a negative on the Co-Op.

There were lots of issues with the actual physical hardware that was delivered and BA did without question replace defective hardware components, but the fact still remains the "bitfury + cgminer / chainminer" issues were still part of the Black Arrow Software end product or implementation of the end product. A consumer would expect all aspects of the end product to function as specified by the manufacturer of the product or expect the manufacturer to correct any issues with hardware, software and firmware or with the implementation of the end product.

As a consumer, I personally would not purchase from BA until they show their willingness to stand by the products they develop and sell. Only time will tell and nothing would please me more then to change my personal opinion of them.

OP you should just watch the following thread so you don't need to do all the research yourself:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=366659.0

It is an up to date list of Asic companies and whether or not they are trustable.
