We launched March 9th, 2014 as a POW+POS coin.

The Hempcoin is unlike many other cryptocurrencies who scheme others into mining and then dumping for minimal profit. We are here to make a currency that is considered the main currency within the hemp community.

We chose not to boast the hemp leaf as it has become synonymous with recreational cannabis smoking and not hemp as a product. Although the leaf symbolizes the liberty that we should have around the world (but are still not given, primarily within bank practices), we have created our own symbol for the movement. The symbol is meant to represent "THC" as a currency symbol.

I have been trying to find away to get in touch with any dev about possible buisiness wanting to use THC as form of payment, but nobody to talk with and twitter THC is not viable since you can't even send DM.

You can also stake THC. Every 45 days you will get a reward for the coin in your wallet.

OK, I downloaded the source for the new wallet version and compiled it using QT Creator on Linux (Mint 18.2 - 64bit - Kernel 4.1.x) and that all went fine after removing the command line option ‘-Wimplicit-fallthrough=0’ ... the wallet runs great, but it doesn't recognize the old database/blockchain. Is there an up to date bootstrap file anywhere? Download the whole blockchain (1.8 million blocks) is going to take forever. Well, maybe not forever, but a good long while
