I have been noticing from last 2-3 years on social media, in-person discussions and on random occasions that people have started too much praising to have a business of your own instead of a job.
Like, sharing business quotes pictures in the executive style. Why is that? I mean, I am a self-made man, I started doing job when I was 16 and until now I am doing the job at a very good place & yeah I can say proudly that I am happy with my life, I am able to pull everything, achieving my personal goals slowly. Yeah, it's true that I spent too much of my time in Office but the question remains the same.

It really makes me sick that people often taunt me with "You should have built your own business until now like, Mr. Dave's son did". WTF?

Why? Is it a disrespect to work for someone?

Sometimes people start their own business because they think that it will be easier and they will not have to do much to get money, what is, unfortunately not true.

While in a job you have to fix yourself in the fixed time interval set by your employer, usually that is of 8 hours. But in your own business, there are no restrictions for you. You can work less or you can even work more to make more profits. So, this is one of the important reason why own business is better than a job.

People want to be a boss. They do not like when someone tells them what to do. That is why they want to do business instead of having a job. It is easier to have job.

Most people nowadays would prefer to be their own boss instead of working for someone.

Going for business is to make an even higher income for yourself, or to even have a secondary income instead of just having 1 job depending on it.

Working for someone else is the worst possible way to make a living. You are making the company way more than they are paying you, otherwise you wouldn't be there.

If you work for yourself you get to keep everything.

If you work for yourself you get to keep everything.

You get everything along with the risk of going bankrupt and having to cope with it on your own. Companies actually take care of this stuff for you, you just have to work and that`s it.
Thus, one`s own business is very stressful as you have to face all the business problems directly - not everyone is ready for this kind of approach, sometimes it`s easier to let corporate Big Brother to take care of it.

Many people want to be their own boss.  You work hard and can reap all the rewards.  With a job, you work hard and you get a set salary.  All the big rewards go to the owner(s).

Because preferably, people want to be their own boss and not have someone ordering them around. Well, unless you're a follower and you need someone to tell you what to do.

Because not all people are comfortable being employed, and would rather be their own bosses. Plus, depending on the success of the business, you could potentially earn way more. Businesses run 24/7 unlike a 9-5 job.

I read all the replies & I feel great that you shared your thoughts on my concern.
The reason why I ain't interested in doing business isn't because I am not capable of doing it. Instead, I am happy with what I am doing with my life & career. The place where I work gives me all the authorities, challenge the system, take initiatives and much.
The real problem with most of the people is that they take the word JOB ungrateful like it is a disrespect. If you are feeling this way then you don't deserve to be working there.
I mean think for a sec, if everyone starts doing their own business then who would they hire? Not everyone has the same mentality and you should be grateful for what you have because you are doing way better than millions of people.

You get to be your own boss, owning a business saves you from having to work for anyone else plus after some years your business will be at a good level and your kids can start from there only and will find ways to expand more

When you have business your work schedule is flexible, when you have a job its not. Also, when you are ambitious you want to be first at everything, you don't want to have a boss. for artsy people it is especially important, because any restrictions make them anxious.

It depends because when you have a high paying job it is okay to have that job. But if your profit is just exactly on your everyday expenses and your not saving any money, then its okay to have your own business.
