Welp, seems the block time is too slow, or maybe it's the difficulty re-targeting is too fast to make it fair on people such as myself, with only a single quad core CPU at their disposal.
Judging by how long it's been, and that I've received no blocks, I guess it's not worth mining unless you have at least a 12 core Xeon, or several other CPUs leading up to at least 12 cores.

Plenty! I built a CPU farm and GPU farm instead of buying asics. So far it has paid off pretty well.
