Bitcoin still involves too much to deceptive behavior!

Wishing you a very good day, I am a lover of blockchain and cryptocurrency. Haiz! But I'm not happy, when I wake up and read bad news about bitcoin, most of them are bitcoin related scams. I wonder when we can manage bitcoins avoid cheating and fraud, if I'm a normal person do not know about bitcoin, I certainly would not want to find out about it when the news I read about bitcoin is mostly negative as scam. The good news about bitcoin is minimal, mostly on blockchain technology, not many people understand the relationship between bitcoin and blockchain. All of this leads to bitcoin being difficult to accept as a payment method, at least for the moment.

when I wake up and read bad news about bitcoin, most of them are bitcoin related scams.

when you turn on your TV in the morning and watch the news you will see that they are talking about all kinds of crimes that happened recently: robberies, murders, rapes, car crashes, .... that is what the news does. they report these kinds of events that gets them more viewership. and there is no difference when it comes to bitcoin either.

It is really noticeable on social media, specially twitter. Pick any celebrity you want, go to their twitter and look for some of their tweets, on the comments below you will see a ton of cryptocurrency addresses, usually big coins like BTC and ETH. Even Elon Musk was involved in this recently.

There are many instagram bots with links on their bio which are bitcoin mining malware in most cases.

In Youtube comment section there's tons of spam of supposed crypto trading geniuses that will make you rich.

The thing is, automating moderation of all of that is really difficult, and human moderation is limited and not enough.

What can you do? when you see scams, report them. And do not get involved in scams yourself and don't click on any dumb looking links and you should be good.

bitcoin isn't involved in anything. bitcoin is just a currency like any other currency in the world and acts as a tool that happens to be used for a variety of reasons, most of which are good and legal but it also happens to be used for illegal activities too. the more popular bitcoin gets the more users will use it and usage of it for both legal and illegal activities will increase just like any other currency.
you just happened to stumble upon the negativity more than anything else because your source is news sites.

Bitcoin is storing value for the owners of bitcoin.

Who reads bitcoin related news? Is there going to be something happening other than side chains and 2nd layer releases over the next two years? It isn't dramatically changing in any way soon.

Following crypto related drama is the readers fault. It's not news, its garbage packaged to excite people who want something new in crypto currency to happen.

Bitcoin is just storing value and being secure. There is no news to write or read about that.

The concern of those media is the rating, I mean they want more viewers who attracted and watch their tv program or news paper. If they spread the news about the good of bitcoin then it only attracts attention of bitcoin users, but if they spread about bitcoin related crimes then it can be more attractive. The "deceptive behavior" is only bad image that media create for bitcoin

that is only your personal perspective not what bitcoin is really about. and unlike what others say i don't think it is the news fault. it is your fault for only focusing on part of the news that is negative. otherwise there is a lot of positive news too. for example the news that is about millions of merchants accepting bitcoin all around the world and increasing their revenue and security.

LOL. Blame the people behind and not the technology. And learn how to grow thick skin as well. Those kind of news will always follow us no matter what we do. So we better used our common sense specially those "too good to be true" promotion in social media sites. Just as stated in the article someone spoof Elon Musk, do you honestly believed that high profile account will simply tweet and asking for your bitcoin as donations? I'm sure that as time passes by, you will just ignore this kind of negative images because of those fraudster and scammers.

You should listen to a Jack Johnson song called 'the news'. I have family members who never read or watch the news because it's always negative and sad. Bitcoin cannot be controlled and nor can those scammers, the only way that the scams will stop is if the people on the receiving end of them wise up.

We don't do investigation as we trust media reporting whatever it is and we find the truth on it. Certainly there are truths to what they are saying but they are not reporting what is good to it unless they are reporting something that themselves are going to benefit. Well reporting something bad like scams are beneficial to them, the people likes bad news on TV and newspapers. Discussing blockchain on newspaper ain't going to attract readers.

Given that bitcoin is considered as money and it's easier to get one's hands into it without having their identity known, I'd say it will be really plagued with scammers and fraudsters alike. This is no different with any other forms of money wherein bad guys also loom with their deceptive antics, so it shouldn't be much of a shock anymore. Besides, most people know that it's not the fault of the tech that causes such negative events to happen but rather the people who are conspiring to make it happen. Most people who are into bitcoin will just shake it off as if nothing happened since there's not much that can be done to control nefarious people from entering the bitcoin market.

Everything that holds value can be stolen or used for scam. There are tons of news regarding so many things, we cant blame money for robbery, same way we cant blame cryptos for scams.

Thank you for making me understand the problem. You're right if I'm a blockchain lover I should focus on the values it brings instead of news. I think it will not be long before people will see the really big values that blockchain and bitcoin can bring.

See bad news? A typical thing for any bear market. Someone wants to buy more at low prices.

Don't be too affected by the news, you will feel confused yourself. 
Bitcoin is an inanimate object and it is impossible to commit fraud by itself.
What needs to be dealt with is someone who uses bitcoin for fraud. It's only a matter of time to become a legal payment instrument.

If you want bad news continue to listen to News on TV, they know what they are doing by spreading sensational news, some are even targeted to bring the prices down. I decided sometimes ago to be selective on what I watch and read because I want limited influence on my life. Fraud, Scam, Drug, Rape stories are everywhere and also good news it is now left to you to choose which one to read
