About the project18,000 children die from poverty and disease every day according to Unicef. The World Bank has said it can cure poverty in 15 years. During that time over 98 million children alone will die from poverty and disease, is it fair to make people wait 15 years? Until the 1950s paper notes were printed against gold stored by the government, over time there simply was not enough gold to print more money so what these governments did was just print more money against the same gold, what this does is devalue your currency but creating more of it, this is called quantitative easing, its done without your permission and makes your money worth less.
There is an estimated 200,000 tonnes of Gold on earth running the global economy, however this is too little, with 18,000 children dying everyday from poverty and disease.
Scientific research done at the University of California calculated that there was as much as 131 trillion trillion tonnes of gold locked in planets and stars throughout the universe. What if there was a way we could use this wealth before we actually harvest it, well now there is.
Virtual Gold was created using Bitcoin Technology called the Blockchain. It is a public ledger that shows every transaction digitally from every owner. GoldBars (GBS), its original name, was created with an initial 240 million units designed to mimic the 400 ounce goldbar, and provide a unit of storage and transaction with each unit existing in one of three states;

How long will it take before we know whether the project is successful?We estimate that it may take up to three years, and a cost of between £250,000 and £300,000 per year to fast-track Virtual Gold through government acceptance and regulation. We just need two or three countries in the world to accept each unit of Virtual Gold as a 1:1 value of earth gold at approximately $520,000 per unit to establish Virtual Gold and start to cure global poverty.
