It is clear that celebrities are doing advertising for a reason, and I am sure that it is not because they have fallen in love with this or that coin. They are offered to cooperate for a certain amount, and from their side: why not, it is very clear. Many people want to psychologically introduce their ideas into people's minds, so they use advertising principles such as the "halo effect", with the help of which they act on customers. Celebrities of a kind are in advertising terminology, "icons" for people, and those who are fan of them will follow them, and this is a fact.

People with a broader perspective in terms of marketing can oversee this, but others who perhaps see the celebrity as a rolemodel and believe in their honesty, could actually believe celebrities. Well, crypto is still in the transforming phase and we are not yet matured that enough to have that self-sustaining financial ecosystem. This is the reason why big whales and institutional investors can easily manipulate the market even without a high amount of capital. This is the reason why influencers are getting handsome amount of commission to promote crypto-based projects. However, this situation will definitely improve over the period of time along with the improvement in the mass maturity of the users.

People are idolizing these celebrities because of their talents, of what they are doing, some people might do it but some also follows their investments. I think the teams of the ICO projects know that the celebrities will have a power to gain more follower and with using celebrity to promote the project, at least it could help the project to be known in public. The dev and the teams can expect to reach their goals especially if they are serious with the projects, so the investors will know that they have a good project. It depends on how much budget that the ICO project has because they need to negotiate with the celebrity manager to make a deal.

these aren't exactly celebrities. or at least you can all them lowest tier celebs
and what they are doing is in fact shilling, since like anybody else in the world they also want to make profit and like any other newbies they also can fall for the s cams of altcoins and ICOs. so when they are already caught up in the web of deceit set by the ICOs, they want to get out of it by pulling others in that trap.
this has also been happening for a long time too. the market always corrects itself in about a year or two when it gets rid of all these shitcoins and these "promoters" together as they get dumped to zero.

Understand everyone's intention is to make money so don't trust anyone's word blindly which is not going to make much benefits for you.I really never heard any celebs of recognized level is going to promote the crypto currencies so just ignore if there are some shilling make your own portfolio and be your own celebrity by using the tool crypto currencies.

These two are just good in hyping the market, but they have the influence so there are still people who will invest when seeing it's promoted by celebrity.
Now that the SEC fined them, the people now are more aware about this things so they will be more careful in investing next time.

You're right. We should listen only to those people who understand cryptocurrency and blockchain technology. And celebrities will talk anything if they get paid. Some people tend to believe them because they're public figures, but they're just like us. But on the other hand, it is a great way to promote your project and raise funds for ICO. Better to do some research in investing in an ICO.Though its never that easy in choosing legit ICOs because there are lots of scam ICOs nowadays that actually looks legit.We should not easily believe on those celebrities promoting on some ICOs lets all believe on our instincts and knowledge on the world of cryptos.

If you’re really a fan of some artist, then you would believe mostly everything they say. Well in fact, not all celebrities actually use all of the products they advertise. Not all artists who promote crypto can guarantee us that they really know how it works. Mostly, they just use them as a marketing strategy and it’s up to you if you are smart enough to believe them or not.

Maybe we cannot believe for those celebs who were promoting crypto but they have their own fans who will listen whatever says, and if many of them join in the ICO, then we cannot stop them. I am sure that the project will make sure their ambassador can works best to their project and they will prepare everything so the celebs can promote in the social media or the television. But the risk is if the project fails to reach the goals, the big name of the celebs will also get a bad reputation among the other celebs.

I think celebs should do due diligence before promoting some Crypto projects especially if the project looks suspicious but I think it is hard to decide if they are offering a huge amount of cash and pretends to be legitimate by all means. I think what happened to DJ Khaled and Mayweather will be an eye-opener to those celebrities that are offered to promote an ICO or a project related to Crypto Currencies.

It doesn’t make sense to me since I only invest based on their project and not just on the promotion. Having celebrity with your marketing team doesn’t give any assurance that the project is good. Investors always depend on the project and if you don’t then you are joining the hype of that coin.

It doesn’t make sense to me since I only invest based on their project and not just on the promotion. Having celebrity with your marketing team doesn’t give any assurance that the project is good. Investors always depend on the project and if you don’t then you are joining the hype of that coin. 

Must be read for a lot of people, that actually celeb is really influence project to be hype. But at the end it is all about that developer itself. Don't ever join project before analyze and make any research about the project yet.
