I always prefer to read the whitepaper and then research more than 10 days before selecting that project to invest money! Though I don't read the whole papers from the whitepaper, but I tried to look through the team, their previous experience, roadmap, the motto of the project, roadmap and other things! I visited your website and I want to welcome you for this step, this is very unique and I hope you will list only good project's whitepaper on your website. Good Luck.

Just curious if you guys read the whitepapers of the projects you want to invest in at some point?

I'm a fan (hence my site), but I always wonder what kind of research people do on coins before throwing money at it.

Of course we need to read a white paper of a project what we want to invest so we know what if this project have potential in the future to be successful. And its important that we read the white paper because we need the idea of project that they can contribute to crypto.

Yes, investors should read the whitepaper of a certain project to get the feel if the project has the potential to make it big or being a fraudulent one.
Also, aside from investors, a bounty hunter should at least browse the whitepaper before joining the program.
In that way, he will know if the project is really authentic and has the capability to deliver their objectives.
With that, he will know for sure that he will be paid afterwards and get the money that was promised to them.

I always read whitepaper before deciding to join a project whether for doing a bounty or investing there. At least, by reading the whitepaper, we can have a little description if it is a trusted project or potential for a scam. We can study the project ideas, plans, strategies, products, and team members information through reading whitepaper.

Reading whitepaper is one of the crucial things before investing, it can gives you a lot of information, and it also can give a detail information about the feature the raodmap and the developers team, almost all of the important things about the project is written on the whitepaper, investing without reading whitepaper is like gambling

I will not go looking for projects that read all their whitepaper. I have a team that can search for ICO projects that are running in the background and there are many big investors growing.
I just read the whitepaper of those potential projects, besides I don't spend too much time reading it all. Grin

Although read the whitepaper is one of the important things to do before investing to find out more about the project, but I never read it because it was too long. Even so it doesn't mean I don't care or don't want to know it. Because there are many bounty participants who make reviews about ICO projects, so I prefer to read or watching from their review because it is shorter, denser, and clearer.

for the few coins i've invested in---definitely. you need to study the fundamentals before investing, and reading shitty whitepapers is one of the easiest ways to quickly pass on bad projects.

but when it comes to trading, i'm looking for bullish chart patterns + liquidity + hype. and really nothing else. for me, altcoins are mostly just for short term speculation.

I look through the same facts, m8. But, i think the realm of ICO is dead now.

This is a nice idea mate! I also suggest that you can summarize all the technicals in a certain whitepaper as well as if you can have like a verdict if a certain whitepaper is a lousy one or can hit a home run.

That would be awesome, but I'm busy enough as it is with adding & updating whitepapers  Smiley. Pretty difficult as well since you have to be really tech savvy to get to the core of the tech and make a solid assessment of how they're going to solve a problem...I think other people will be better in that  Grin. Definitely love the suggestion though, would've been a good addition to the site.

Any serious investor would find it a sound idea to run through a project's whitepaper. Though even a seemingly well constructed one can end up just that. It should be a part of any investor's reseach but not solely depending on it.
The real investors actually go to read these whitepapers to find out that in which type of project they are investing but there are a lot of people who do not know to read these whitepaper they only depends on the signals from their leaders to invest in these they often face loses.
