What a very big mistakes using your own property for the sake of investments in cryptocurrency. You should never use a borrowed money to use as an investment, because the risk is very high specially if you don't know how the market works. You're in a wrong move mate where you hide it with your wife..because what i stand for is that every decision that involves big risk both of you must know it and both parties will decide it.Cryptocurrency investments is a big risk and what you risk is your house inorder  to buy eth.I think you must need to tell her,no matter how she will react,its as good as the truth will set you free.Yes you can sell your eth though the price is falling but leave something to hodl and have patience to wait for the next bull run.

Stupid advice, he bought $300,000 worth of ETH when it was at $800. Now ETH is $80 so if he sold it all he would only get $30,000, if he sold half he would get $15,000.

OP, best thing you can do is tell your wife. Also at this point there is probably not much point in selling as we can't go much lower, at least relative from your $800 to $80 loss you already suffered.

I would get a second job or work extra hours or something to make your house payments. Maybe talk with the bank for an Interest only loan for maybe a year or so to see how the market pans out.

I am sure given enough time ETH will rebound much like BTC did back from its 2013 high then crash in 2014-2015. Took a few years though, so you will need to make plans to ride it out possibly until 2020.

That's too much and it will cause so much anxiety because Eth coin still dropping and we still don't know how low will it goes down, no one doesn't want you to be in your shoes, and I don't want to give you will false hope that you can recover your investment it's time to talk to your wife about this but this is just a recommendation.

you are a loser because of two things:
1. you invested more than you can afford to lose, and worst of all you invested money that didn't even belong to you. you basically borrowed money to invest.
2. you invested without doing research and worst of all you entered a market that you had no  experience in. for example would you jump in the ocean if you don't even know how to swim? then why would you invest in an altcoin when you don't know what pump and dumps are?

right now your only option is to cut your losses and possibly even dump ETH that you have been hag holding all this time down to below $100 and next time try to educate yourself and use this bad experience to not repeat it again.
