SOME ACTUAL NEWS FROM THE TRIBE RE ADOPTION
and then this coin will have some life.... tbh just sorting out the things that have already been promised/supposed to have happened....
I did hear that some of the Lakota are trading MZC for $.01 on the reserve, I'm not sure in what quantities, but if it's happening even in minute quantities it's a step in the right direction. Payu is also busy working on getting merchants to accept the coin on the reservation as well. I have also taken over some of the Dev roles and will be working on the coin as needed and helping with trying to promote the coin. owlhooter's point is very correct. There's no amount of forking this coin to change the mathematics/economics that will help it's original intention. While I do think that mergemining will help the overall trading economics in the mid-term, our primary reason for supporting THAT is blockchain security. If a coin is to be used as currency, the blockchain must be secure enough to do so. maza is not even close.
What will help the economics of maza is for it to become used.
I know you had talked about merge mining before and I agree it could be a step in the right direction, getting consistent hashrate will give us consistent block times as well. While I also have my reservations about merge mining they are mainly selfish ones since I am a pool operator and would probably lose out if/when merge mining is implemented, but that won't stop me from doing what's best for the coin provided we can all (AP and Payu as well) agree that is the way it needs to go. Also, if you would happen to know what all needs to be done to implement merge mining any help would be appreciated. I've looked at the code for it a little but haven't looked at it long enough to determine what needs to be done if we were to implement it.

This is fucking pathetic bullshit that all of our news for mazacoin has to come from some guy on a bitcointalk forum that says he has Payu on skype. It's so unprofessional and as of now I have lost respect for anyone on the mazacoin development team. They have done such a lousy job at keeping people informed and keeping active with the community, it's actually insulting to mazacoin enthusiasts. To be in the know, we have to join some esoteric group hidden in skype chats? We shouldn't have to. Are you that fucking lazy you cant post in here or at least cut and paste key points. This is the epitome on unprofessionalism. I'm so fed up with this shit.

BS - if you didn't make this up then whoever you heard it from did and is just desperately trying to unload their bag of MZC. They are trading for 1/50th of $0.01 and even then there is virtually no buy support. MZC is worthless and will never be accepted by the Lakota. The dev team has been a joke from the start. If the Lakota were going to accept a cryptocurrency, why would they choose one where thousands of bagholding non-Lakota morons control the vast majority of the coin supply? Why not create their own or hire somebody honest to create one for them? It doesn't even make sense and it honestly never did. It was a scam from the start (all of these "country" coins/etc were but this one was easily the worst) and the sooner you accept it and move on the better off you'll be. You will never unload this crap. Take what you can get, cut your losses, and let this thing die. It's shameful to crypto in general and makes us all look like idiots by association.

I have just taken over some of the development roles within the last 48 hours. I am going to do more to keep the community informed and am going to be working with the community as much as I can. I am not going to do information solely via skype as I do not like skype. I will be updating here, the current official Mazacoin forum at http://cryptominers.freeforums.org/index.php and will be in the IRC channel #Mazacoin on freenode. There is a lot of work to do to regain trust, Payu has still been working with the Lakota on the ground and from what I've heard from him it sounds positive. And like I've told Payu, the Lakota need to look at what Mazacoin can do for them locally and not worry about the exchange price. With the use of the coin on the reservation and when merchants can start accepting the coin the market prices will follow and the value of Maza will increase. I did hear that some of the Lakota are trading MZC for $.01 on the reserve

Like I said, I'm not sure what volume they are trading at that price and it may be sub 100 MZC, but it at least shows that there is some interest on the reserve and if we can get there merchants accepting it things will be better. The launch of this coin was not a Scam, it did have the backing of some of the Lakota tribe, unfortunately there are a lot of different dynamics with tribal government that even I don't understand, and the part of the Tribal government that works with the US Government and gets grants from the US is the ones that have come out against Mazacoin (again, this is coming from what I have heard via Payu and what he has stated in the IRC channel and other places in the past). If Mazacoin was launched as a scam then Payu would have walked away from the project after it reached 10k Satoshi and we never would have heard from him again. Me, I'm not focusing on the Market price of Mazacoin, I want the coin to be working well for transactions so that merchants can accept the coin and have a POS type system and android wallet for transactions, and we are working towards that end. We also will have some more news about code development coming out later, and I'll be sure to keep you all informed.

I want to have a permanent, searchable archive of communication. This form satisfies that. My impression is that skype is in the same category as a telephone. That is, a real time communication channel without an archive or search ability. I did spend some time trying to use skype with Ubuntu 12.04, but was not successful in getting it to work. I did find an XP machine with skype on it, but I don't seem to find any instructions on how to get to useful information about Mazacoin. I, too, want the communication to be visible in this forum.

Actually there was "crisis" last week becouse everyone push AP to leave us and he is turning to crazy. He treatened us to destroy coin but in time new dev team copied whole resources - github so actually we can work without him but Twitter ( https://twitter.com/MazaCoin) and website ( http://mazacoin.org/) still own AP and he refused several times to give it only Payu as Lakota representative.
This isn´t still solved for 100% but actually we work by ourselves without AP´s discuss - actually his power is nothing he can do anything
We have also discused FORK thing and actually it seems that we have dealed on reducing mining reward not mzc supply.
We also preparing real Android wallet, new-websites and much more without AP and under Lakota´s control.
About price : There will be big meeting at 16th this month and it expect big attention from wide Lakota society. Also fork which is soon prepared can also help to grow up price & attention - maybe some pump will be expected in that time
Than we spoke about future plans and things like that Shortly said from skype´s group

So if AP is going to just use these things as leverage you will have to stop dealing with him and get these new assets in place before the 16th. One thing I thought did not help a while back was this Maplecoin business, I guess that was all this AP guy using the MZC twitter to promote that as well... Again, it is better to co-ordinate this stuff in the open I'm sure you will find more people to help out now the situation is a little clearer.

From my current impressions talking to both AP and Payu, Payu is still allowing AP to do the work on the coin, I think we are heading in the right direction now, but there appears to be some of these guys on Skype that have convinced themselves they are going to fork the project themselves. I don't believe Payu is behind them 100% at this point, if that were the case I would hope he would have mentioned it to me, but the impression I got is the Skype group is not going to take control of Maza at this time, as it would require a fork to a new github, new twitter, new domain, and would require all pool owners and exchanges to voluntarily agree to take that fork rather than the one currently around and that wouldn't go away with the fork. Forking it like that would be a mess and we are going to be answering some of the issues with MazaCoin development and like I said, I will be the liaison for the development team to the community. This way anything that you guys need/want I can filter through and respond to accordingly. Rest assured we are working for the good of the coin, and for the Lakota.

So I'll assume for the moment that you actually have had these talks and that this rogue skype group isn't being honest about a division between Payu and AP. As far as I'm concerned I don't see how you save this coin without a hard fork that signals a new direction for this coin and you probably just have one chance to get it right. Whether it's merge mining, block halving, or even some 'tax' that reserves a portion of the mining reward for the Lakota somehow, one or a combination of these things really has to happen. Even demonstrating that a technical team is capable of agreeing on a direction for this coin and implementing some meaningful change would restore some confidence.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2g7LkOgTGeYPayu Harris1 month ago +Some constructive criticism with regards to PR: Use the "BTC Oyate Project Twitter to promote BTC adoption and educate," Ok this twitter account was hijacked...by who? one of the "People wanting to help mazacoin" THATS why nothing from me has been on it... "Take down Mazacoin.org, it is unworthy of such an ambitious project and allow Mazatalk.com to be the official website, they understand the value of positive PR and production values" Yes I agree mazacointalk is a good looking effective site...and I support it...AGAIN AP is not a web designer...so to get a good website team takes...$$$.... "Take down Kimitsu Asset Management, it looks like a scam" Kimitsu Asset Management was in the beginning set to be a site much like Havelock Investments, AGAIN...getting that operational takes more then just me.... "focus on the charitable initiative" Working on that...Im the one out shaking hands and talking with program directors and people about the Mazacoin grant program that takes person to person contact so again...im SOLO here....if there were 12 of me..things would get done faster.... "Take down that weird profile of you on that Asian dating website, you are a public figure now." WHAT profile on a asian dating site?? I have a personal FB page.. email me a link to it and I'll look into it "Disassociate Mazacoin from the Free Lakota Bank." Ok now this one I agree with... "Dissociate Mazacoin from crypto-direct." Nope...They were there from the Start and even though people may not like AP or his methods, Ideology, or choice of breakfast cereal, he was the one that stepped up and helped get Mazacoin coded and started...im not bailing on the people that stood by me from the start "Become a legal entity with a charitable status and accountable management, not an anonymous dev." mazacoin has no intention of becoming a US controlled 501 c 3 charity...as far as accountable management... We're in the process of working on a structure for that..

How about half the block reward going to the miner and the other half being divided equally among all the tribes that adopt mazacoin as an official currency?
