The mtgox seems to get hacked again really. The last day, someone says the database of mtogx is dumped by hackers. The url is: http://www.reddit.com/r/Bitcoin/comments/1zz21j/mtgox_2014_hack_database_revealed_live_from_mark/. And today, the official announced that some phishing email is sent to their users. Maybe it's not a coincidence. It's real that the mtgox really got hacked again. So bad ,mtgox.

I have not once assure anyone about this link and the single and only time I have  posted this link myself I wrote a big ass red warning all around it from the get go.

You clicked on someone else's link not mine and you trusted someone else not me.

I have not even downloaded myself even tho I really want to me because I'm a gox victim and I would love to get all my account information back.

As a tec noob myself I also had no idea PDF's could do this until today and thinking back over the last year how many pdfs have I opened??  I think I also need to wipe my PC not because of this download but because I might have already been effected.

Would you mind telling us who assured you. You just dragged my name thu the mud a little its the least you could do.

Avoid the download altogether.  I recently used http://peerwire.de/goxdb/ and the balance shown reconciled precisely with my numbers.  Below is my  'Subject:Account creation confirmation letter' (altered for security).  You will need the information in bold.   This info may also have been included with PW resets or other communications.

Welcome to Mt.Gox!

Thank you for creating your account with us.

Your login: Goxxed Victim

In order to enable your account, you need to enter your validation code on the Mt.Gox website.

Personally I'm going to not touch anything until its up on the official MT.Gox website and even then I will wait a few days to make sure tons of people more tec smart than me confirm its safe and even then I will be in fear.

How the hell is mass adoption going to happen in a place like this? The 1% elite of bitcoin will be IT security specialist it seems.

Someone on reddit did a dissassembly and there is a wallet stealer embedded in the .exe. So for the love of god move your bitcoins if you ran that exe.

Seems I cant link to the post, but its on reddit /r/bitcoin.

This is a misunderstanding. When I penned my post above, I had nobody specific in mind, especially V4Vendettas, of whom this is the first time, I believe, I've run across his name, let alone conduct an exchange with, I believe.

I just happened to quote you to express my feelings at the time, and you are in no way responsible for me opening any file.

Please accept my apology in this matter, along with not replying sooner.

Thanks, bud.

Profound truth.  It is a massive-attractor of scumbag turdsucking thieves, but Satoshi's concept is still good.  :l

Hey, bud. I referenced what I read in the following thread: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=508162.0

Seriously, I have no qualms with your, or any guys that may have steered me wrong, hence not caring what their names are/were, but easily found via reading the relatively short thread/posts up to my posts were I started expressing a concern, carrying said concern over to this thread via quoting you.

I hope the above makes sense now, and apologize once again for giving you an uncomfortable feeling.

Thanks man means a lot to me. All forgiven and massive bro hug from me to. Right well back to work for me now and by work I mean dragging myself back out of the gox hole both emotionally spiritually and financially.

In other news yay I made enough btc from posting to buy myself a new SSD so I can go ahead and buy one for bitcoins at scan.co.uk <---- love these guys so much right now.

Why is this relevant to this thread you ask well Its relevant because I (and maybe anyone reading this) need to totally clean their PC's with a fresh install because (shocker) I have opened a PDF in the last year. I would say FML but I see a little sliver lining.

mtgox.com has a warning of phishing pdf on their website now. It's dated 3/8, however I didn't notice it before today?

Is it backdated, or am I just a slob?

The warnings seems to be warning against phishing 'emails' and not the files just leaked today. But I wouldn't know for sure.

Another thing: Visited my local cops today. According to them, having personal information stolen is not identity theft -- yet. I have to wait until I suspect someone using my identity by getting bills for stuff I didn't buy. WTF???

I then went to my municipal office to null my passport and order a new one. Cost me 130$. Apparently fingerprint scans are now mandatory together with a coloured flashing light passport photo. Can only guess what Interpol is going to use that for.....

For sure my fingerprint data will get stolen from some public office at some point when criminals discover that they need fingerprints together with stolen passports.

Last I went to my bank to ask them if an IBAN could be used fraudelent and if I should block it some how. she told me that couldn't be done, then I asked if my ordinary account number and card number could be found through phone phishing banks from my IBAN only? She called me back after an hour and suggested that I better cancel my CC also!!

She did admit that KYC actually is a security risk for all customers in hacking cases like this of private businesses. Even if it prevents money laundering and tax evasion.
