I bet it is safe to sell them and switch it all for btc because btc is more valueable than any other cryptos but if he loves his alts & eth and he doesnt wanted to sacrifies it just to obtain a btc , he can also work on this forum on sig campaigns or bounty campaigns  .  other online jobs like free lancing or faucets can also earn him a crypto  .

Ethereum doubled in value from its lowest point. If you convert to Ethereum right now you are basically fomo buying around what could very well turn out to be near the peak. The main reason for the increase is that the price catched up to where the cut in block rewards is calculated in right now. People have had enough time to enter below $100 not that long ago, so accept being too late.

honestly, i wouldn't sell anything at this point---bitcoins or altcoins. anyone who waited this long has already seen the worst of it. selling now might not be the absolute bottom but it's highly likely you'll lose coins if you plan buy back (or miss the trade if you don't).

i prefer long term holds that i can "set and forget". i can't tell you how many coins i'd nearly forgot about that doubled, 10x'd or better. you won't get that trading on bitmex because you're paying swap interest or holding limited duration contracts, and you basically only have access to markets for the very top coins. my biggest gains in altcoins have always come from low caps that would never trade on bitmex until after most of the gains are gone.

i occasionally trade the pink sheets, particularly pot stocks, for the same reason.

God only knows what bitcoin would be worth today had the shitcoin holocaust not happened. Ethereum did unrepairable damage to crypto when the token ICOs flooded the scene. Everyone and their dogs were buying these stupid get rich quick tokens.

You want bitcoin to go up? Simple. Quit buying shitcoins. Buy btc and hodl.

bingo. ethereum already dropped 80% against bitcoin and 94% against the dollar. some altcoins have bled out considerably worse than that, if you can believe it.

advising people to sell alt/BTC markets this late into the bear market is a lot like advising them to sell BTC/fiat. if you're desperate to preserve fiat value, go ahead and sell because we might grind lower. but there's a decent chance you'll be selling near the bottom and will never get the opportunity to get all your coins back.

Ethereum is still looking like a good place to put your money into if you ask me. I mean hard fork increased the price a lot but we are still way below the 200 dollar levels it once stayed, if you believe bull is coming and bitcoin price will be going up than you must see that ethereum price will go up as well. If you think bitcoin is not going up than no point on switching back to it neither.

Moreover, if we consider the fact that while bitcoin was 6.5 thousand dollars the price of ethereum was 200 dollars, and right now price of bitcoin is about 4 thousand dollars (with 50%+ more to go for 6.5 thousand dollars) and ethereum price is around 150-160 levels than we can say if bitcoin can go back to 6.5 thousand dollar levels price of ethereum could be 300+ dollars easily instead of 200 like it used to be. I would say instead of a 50% gain from bitcoin it is better to gain x2 with ethereum.

Of course you are right, Crypto is still not used in a proper way like making transactions and buying stuffs. This is not happening in a regular basis and the main reason I do feel is most of the government is not in the favor of this which causes them a stir. Else the demand will be more for BTC.

As it happened before, it may happen again, a lifehack of sorts. Yesterday I tried to install Ethereum Wallet from Ethereum developers and it gave me a lot of pain in the ass. I couldn't even import an existing private key into it, wtf. So that thing about coming update should be scary for long-term Ethereum users given the shitty quality of the software Ethereum developers produce. The bottom line is that it may in fact be a good idea to sell your ethereums and buy some bitcoins before this upgrade proves to be consistent and bugfree

Only people who have a lot of fiat can buy bitcoin with new money but since most people are not that wealthy and are stuck in altcoins which they have bought quite expensive in the last bull run. I still do not think that this is time for selling and going in for bitcoin as BTC position is not good currency and it is testing support again and again.

Still they have time for doing it,you can convert your coins into bitcoin and wait for the next bull run to happen it will still increase the bitcoin to much new high level which can give profits in terms of USD or other fiat but if the altcoins didn't worth any then its already dead.
