The name was correct but the photo is not Cheesy someone needs to create a wiki photo with an anonymous profile pic and label it Satoshi. And make a not that he is no longer developing the code

I have done the search in different browsers, different OS, deleted cookies, deleted internet data history, and did the search on TOR. I have almost the same results with small changes, and those changes were not Core developers.

Tracking these days is more advance than you think, screen/browser resolution and hardware information sometimes is enough to track users.
I'm sure most of your browser leave unique browser fingerprint, you can check at https://panopticlick.eff.org/ if you are curious

My search on Tor Browser is totally different, the only similarity is Satoshi Nakamoto is listed. FYI, here's my search result

Code:
   Gavin Andresen.
    Andreas Antonopoulos.
    Wences Casares.
    Tim Draper.
    Hal Finney.
    Mark Karpelès.
    Satoshi Nakamoto.
    Charlie Shrem.

seems wind fury is now ignoring googles search results of bitcoin core devs, and now only wants to discuss WIKI

maybe what windfury needs to do is check wiki and realise people edited wiki to include those names. and should maybe get a wiki mod to edit the wiki.
(usually anyone can edit wiki, but as with everything.. even core. you find getting an edit actually published is easier if you kiss  a moderators ass) im sure he knows how to proceed with this

its actually very transparent who the developers are. if you know how to research properly.
P..S
satoshi was NEVER a "bitcoin core developer" so his identity is not a question for this topic. and his involvement is not a current even. he has not done anything since late 2010 so not important or relevant to todays code concerns

Do I? I said do, "Bitcoin Core developers" search, and look at the images at the top. I posted a screenshot of where to look.

Hahaha. Maybe franky1 needs to take himself less seriously. The topic was supposed to be funny, but he came in on a full on "you are all wrong" rampage again.

Yes, "if". But newbies search Google and accept what they see in the first line, in the first page as fact.

Your point is?

My point was do the search, take a screenshot of what appears on the top screen, share it, and laugh.

On the serious side, it might be a cause for concern because that is what newbies see when they search for "Bitcoin Core developers" in Google. It also says "according to Wikipedia". Haha.

A bit off-topic, why do you still use google search? I used it on past, but then all ads were about shady ICO, exchange or investment, so i decided to stop using many of google product.

I use DuckduckGo, but I use Google as a supplement.

Although, the real problem is not us. We know who the Core developers are, and we know where the right sources of the information are. It's the newbies, they do not know anything when they come in, and they would be thinking that Roger Ver, Mark Karpeles, and Charlie Shrem are Core developers because it's what Google told them. Haha.

Does anyone know who contributes on the wiki on Bitcoin?

I think that all smart people before investing in any coin, including bitcoin, first good to learn information about it. Those who will not do it risks will then lose their money. Do not believe everything that say, you should always check everything and found the source of the news.

On the serious side, it might be a cause for concern because that is what newbies see when they search for "Bitcoin Core developers" in Google. It also says "according to Wikipedia". Haha.

on a serious side
1. if you believe anything wrote on wiki then your a fool
2. if your getting "snippets" and taking them as factual, your a fool
3. if you just take whatever you read first as factual, then your a fool

no wonder you and your buddies are stuck in an echo chamber

try doing real research...

plus going into the social drama of commenting about my replies instead of doing something about google results. shows your just a drama queen.

might be worth you going to wiki and edit the page
might be worth you going the snippet and providing feedback.
and then learn how to do proper research instead of just looking at sponsored snippets and top results

While you gaslight your way to win a debate, and spread the false information. But I hope the newbies do believe you, then find out for themselves the truth. The memefication. Cool

The debate is very entertaining, but this should be a serious topic because beginners are definitely looking for data based on search engines and basically search engines work based on keywords, countries, trending topics, IP addresses and visit history. Even the original website will not appear when far from the keywords they get. You can try making junk writing that says Satoshi Nakamoto is the brother of Michael Jackson, then advertise and make viral marketing. Then the newcomer will believe the news, Lol ...

I use DuckduckGo, but I use Google as a supplement.

Then you should know about https://www.startpage.com/, a private search engine which get it's search result from Google

But the newbies do believe, and will always believe because it's "Wikipedia".

It's common knowledge that Wikipedia should only used to get basic or common information, even teacher on school these days reject homework which only use Wikipedia as it's source Cheesy

But in this case, the problem is with google which fetch all names from Bitcoin Core page and consider all of them as Bitcoin Core developer even though the name only showed on Bitcoin template table

Search on google will always come up with a result. That is why we have forums like this and other cryptocurrency forums to ask questions and get clarification and answers from more senior members who have been around for quite sometimes.

gaslighting

typical reply..
boring reply thats just the same as your buddies replies years ago. when you lot cant rebut, you then shout out certain buzzwords that are known in your group. before it was 'ad-hom' then 2018 it was 'gaslighting'..
well its 2019. time to think of a new buzzword

anyway my point is this.
you get the results based on what you decide to search for and what you decide to notice/react to/ take as the answer.
this topic has been open for a week now. but have you tried to change anything?

also if your easily triggered by selective results presented to you without looking at the source to check its validity. then by you reacting and thinking its a big deal that top results that appear to you are wrong. then it might be a lesson to not just take the first answer you get as the truth. a lesson that research takes more time than just taking the first answer spoonfed to you

have you tried to correct anything?
google snippets have feedback
wiki has edits

Then can you say that what you are spreading about Bitcoin, the Core developers, the Lightning Network, and the rest of your twisted arguments is the "truth"? How can you say that? Most of them are wrong.

I respect you, but I don't know what your agenda is.
