What is going on with bitcoin ? there are many fluctuations in short span of time within a limit of $500? but bitcoin is unable to reach a new landmark and trailing around $4000. what's the reason for these temporary price fluctuations?

Price fluctuations are never temporary. They are permanent. There was never a time in crypto in which the prices are steady. There will always be rising and falling of prices. The only temporary here are the prices. You cannot rely on them to be stagnant for a long time. There was so much hard time for Bitcoin to finally push this $4,000 back. It crosses the threshold and then loses it quickly. For now, we are once again crossing the $4,000 mark. I hope this will be continuous until somewhere safe around $4,500.

             This fluctuation exists because we are still on the bear market. These fluctuations are normal. I do not think we have to worry about this. But I do not think Bitcoin will be back in this year. Year 2020 will be the year of the return of Bitcoin, until then we remain with these small fluctuations.

I think you are not worried about current market prices, because the market is crypto  fluctuating, so you can understand this. and you can patiently wait for the Normal market price to return.

Its not really major but I think these price movements will make the number of coins in circulation lesser.

Yes, today Bitcoin has increased again despite only a slight increase, but this is a good progress to see Bitcoin return to the real level. And I hope this surge is the beginning of the rise of Bitcoin prices.

Correct bitcoin recover little bit but this is good sign to see bitcoin back to real level of market value. Hopefully this is good sign that bitcoin start to rise the value in the market.

I understand that you can be frustrated that up to now there is still no bull run even a mild one...but there is nothing we can really do about this market but just to watch and be expecting the best and be prepared for the worst. Bitcoin can soon be tumbling up and down and the face of Bitcoin can be painted with excitement and colors. Price fluctuations will always occur at any time, we cannot predict what will happen because all this depends on the demand factor. When more people need a Bitcoin then the price of Bitcoin will increase and when Bitcoin is increasingly abandoned the price will decrease. Bitcoin is still a major currency and if analyzed, there are still many people who need Bitcoin and even graphically that growth is increasing. I am sure that in the future we will get a much better situation.

There are always people looking to make quick profits that will dump during any small pump.  Most of these guys are pro day traders that buy back in cheaper and repeat the process over and over.  When crypto rises there are always pullbacks.  We had a lot of 20-40% dips on the way up to 20k in 2017.

i dont know about bitcoin, the price of bticoin is going up and down without any reason. i think it is because the demand and stock bitcoin in the exchanger. maybe it will more stable when the demand and stock is stable on the market

Bitcoin today has overcome the mark of $ 4000 I think this means that it will soon begin to recover. Perhaps now we will see a good growth

As this rise was caused by reasons which hardly have anything to do with recovery. Bitfinex is closed today due to maintenance, so people were buying crypto to move funds out of the exchange. It is interesting to note in this regard that it was Litecoin which people had been buying as an emergency exit vehicle, and it showed the most spectacular growth yesterday. When Bitfinex opens later today, we will see how much of this growth will be there

I am not surprised by the bitcoin movements, if the price can break $4k, then it's good, and I think it's good for you too because you can make a good profit. But I will surprise if bitcoin price can increase more than $5k-$7k and I will search the answer because so far if bitcoin price can increase in more than $4k, it will bring new hope for us. But unfortunately, right now, bitcoin price make a correction (again), and I think it seems the price wants to test the floor again before increase (if there is a demand at the market). I think people are shifting exchanges to ETH because it is going to happen the Hard Fork event. The traders are trying to take advantage of this event to push ETH up and start liquidating it after they receive their reward in this event. I guess that after receiving the reward, traders will sell all of the ETH they hold at a higher price than what they have spent.

It is Bitcoin just being Bitcoin and perhaps the rest of the cryptocurrencies as well. This is just a normal price movement on a daily basis even during the 2017 Bull Run the price rally we have seen is what we can call as abnormal movement compared to other market's standards. So there is really nothing special on Bitcoin's price movement at present as it is just what we see everyday. You will be comfortable with it as volatility will always be in the cryptocurrency market.

Talking about fluctuations, last time I check the price is above $4K now. And as far as I can remember, we have seen fluctuations above $1K in 2017 (correct me if I'm wrong).

That's dependent on the space of time you are considering, the price was very volatile in 2017, rising quickly in the last quarter of the year and reaching a new all time high.
2018 was a relatively stable year, for a normally volatile market.

And I don't know how you can call 2018 a "relatively stable year". It's a downward trend of epic proportions. We did see the price stabilizes around the $6K-$6500 mark (3-4 months). But it went on a spiral and even bottom at $3200.
