bitember has forked!  hashrate was pretty high compared to the rest of the network at the time...

I contacted them, they will get it running again.

Once hashrate is back up and well distributed we should be good at 12400

So what happens at the fork? Just download the new wallet if we haven't already and start mining and everything should work?

kidcoin if you get a chance, can you explain a little about the change that will be implemented about the 6 minute maximum block time? so if a block gets stuck, it forces the network to start a new block? what happens if a block hits a 6 minute max, does it just orphan or something?

my girlfriend just traded 25 litecoin for about 210,000 fluttercoins on bter. i told her that the price should rocket up higher if the new fork helps the coin start running smoothly. of course there's no guarantee that will happen, but it's a good risk, imo.

If everyone stops mining we will never get to block 12400, that's the whole point, blocks are solved, we move to the next one.
We are stuck on 12350 because there is not enough hashrate to brute force these errored blocks and we just keep submitting the blocks it is counting as errored.

Oh ok, i'll throw my 2 pcs on even though its not much hashrate. Going to bed anyway, hope it works by morning time.

As long as hashrate doesn't skyrocket, these stuck blocks should be sub 1 hour - only need to get to 12401, then we should be good and blocks shouldn't get stuck.

When we hit a stuck block, is it better to switch to solomining to solve it? I haven't kept up with the whole thread but I thought I read somewhere in here that they take a while cause they're blocks that pools can't solve... I'd be happy to switch to solo for a bit if that's the case
Nope, you are doing the same exact hashing calulation for the same exact block solo that you would be doing pool, either way if you find the block it will move the chain forward.
The problem is the code for blocks under 12400 is bugged.
