Why is this coin's volume so high? Just a lot of people mining and selling it?
It's the next big thing probably. There are only maybe a few million coins per day being mined and sold yet volume yesterday was 10x that. So you could not dump enough coins to make the price drop. It was Mintpal's choice pick (not voted - it was chosen by Mintpal of all other coins) and it was added to BTER in China as well as being added to coinmarketcap.com and Poloniex. All in a few days. Someone powerful is behind all this. Some huge whale is backing this in China.

Someone powerful is behind all this. Some huge whale is backing this in China. ^^ This. BTER (hard to get listed chinese exchange) was first the site to list. Then all of a sudden all this amazing stuff happens in just a few days. So by the way this is what I saw last night on mintpal. Someone big dropping huge BTC down at 800 over and over to eat up everything in waves every hour or two. Also many many regular buyers layered on to that (including me obviously). The people that are pushing it also wanted to buy everything that is being sold. So half the volume of the coin turned over hands yesterday. Now no one is selling much. Someone spotted this coin early and has been mining it along with everyone else. It's an original coin. Could hit 3 million cap which seems to be the standard these days. Edit -- people have fed all these coins into the market over 24 hours and the price does not drop. People (and whale/s) keep buying up everything in the 500-700 range all day. Coins will run out even at $15k per day in volume at this price.

With all due respect, if this coin is so popular, why isn't its price on a clear upward trend?

Because whales don't profit off a coin that has a steady slow increase.

I can't build the wallet: In file included from src/qt/bitcoin.cpp:4:0: src/qt/bitcoingui.h:4:23: fatal error: QMainWindow: No such file or directory #include <QMainWindow> ^ compilation terminated. make: *** [build/bitcoin.o] Error 1
Any idea? Thanks Bump Not sure to be honest... All of the official builds, including Windows Qt are done with consistent versions, on Ubuntu 12 with gitian builder. Look in gitian-descriptors for the deps you need.

It's up over 100% in 24 hours. It was 400 satoshi yesterday and went up to 1000. If you bought it yesterday and sold it last night. If you want to wait for a clear upward trend over a few days time then it would probably be too late. That is why we buy when things are low.

the volume per day is quite impressive Indeed, on top of a stable price. Really makes me think a rise is inevitable. Patience is key my friends. Anyone who has been here since the beginning of FLT and stuck around even after the troubled launch understands this and now have made a very very nice ROI. We still are a very young coin, but the consistent stable growth that FLT displays is exactly what you want to see at this stage. One must also consider that many large stakeholders (including myself and kidcoin) have no intentions of selling any of our FLT any time soon and it seems that a lot of people are developing this type of mindset towards our coin. tl;dr- Buy, hold, build (as zetacoiners say)

Debut day on a major exchange + no downward trend = hidden upward trend, that will be revealed as mining dumps recede. (IMO) Also, a lot of daytrading is going on, it was bouncing between support at 600 and resistance at 700 for hours, and I'm guilty of profiting during that period... which although I'm not crashing the price, daytrade activity does tend to mitigate the volatility after a while - as you can see over the past few hours. The margin has been closing. I think the upward trend will emerge if not this weekend, then certainly early next week (only because weekends are traditionally/historically slow trade days). Hi, I think it's just because 10 hours ago we had 64.000.000 coins circulating, and now it's almost 67.000.000. Price are pushing up atm because this coin success, but he is also pushing down because of the supplies increasing.

Looks like http://cryptocointools.com is working on Fluttercoin dice as well if anyone was wondering if we'd be releasing a dice game.

Coinmarketcap.com just updated and now shows percentage gained. Which is basically starting from 24 hours ago where we have been stable all day. Was 400 satoshi 36 hours ago heh. 24 hours ago was about 650 satoshi. Some times were 870 satoshi even. So anything over that will keep the percentage positive. Get that % going upward and hit the top batch of % gained on CMC. Or we can just chill and keep buying low... It's still early. I'm cool with 1000% or 10% in 24 hours.

even though so much good news has happened for this coin since the successful fork, i still feel like this has an underground sort of feel as far as alt coins go. we just need to spread our butterfly wings and let everyone know about this coin, about it's proof of transaction, great dev team, and solid community. let's face it, anyone involved in this coin is downright awesome

i wonder if the guy that was upset about not hitting a block in a few hours at flutter.miningwith.us if he stuck with the pool. we had good luck all day today, almost every block under 100% average time. that's the thing with small pools, you can get bad luck without hitting a block, or you can have really good luck. the larger pools have a steadier amount/time but the small pools are more of a gamble, both in a good and bad way. i like to gamble that's why i'm holding all of my flutter and haven't let a single one fly away! i'm holding loooooooooooong term

I have been a trader for a while now, flutter coin is about to go wild soon. I have been watching it, early investors and big miners once consolidated into new hands which happens on each rise, we will see a break out. Same with happened with black coin recently early investors and miners were dumping it down on each rise cashing out. Once they get fewer coins to dump it breaks out. I bought popcorn

So is it a good idea to switch to a consistent 5500 block reward?
