I don't think the market is boring this year because from the last December, the market still moving and some of the coins can increase although it's for tested the market itself. I don't panic because I still trying to trade and I see there are many opportunities for me and for every people who can search the coins to buy and sell. This month I want to analyse deeply on every coin at the bittrex and binance because there is a big list of the coins that I can use to make a profit.

It has been just 19 days of 2019, we should wait a bit before we decide what the 2019 will look like. However if you ask me boring is much better than the chaotic things we had in previous years. One year we started the year with 700 dollars or so and ended with 20 thousand dollar high, which to you may sound amazing, from 700 dollars to 20 thousand dollars looks great on paper however bitcoin and blockchain wasn't prepared for such a big attack and hype so the price was unsustainable and the price went down.

Another year on 2018 we had a year where we went down from 20 thousand dollar levels to 3200 dollars at lowest which means we have dropped a lot and on paper it looks horrible but in reality from start of 2017 to end of 2018 we have moved from 700 to 3200. If you tell anyone that their money will make about x5 profits in 2 years everyone would jump into it.

So, instead of having the middle of 20 thousand and back, how about a boring from 700 to 3200 type of x5 in bitcoin in 2 years ? From today to bitcoin halving, we should aim at being 10-15 thousand dollars without having too much ups and downs, just small ups all the way to there.

In fact, the chaotic things you mentioned were a lot less scary than this "boring" market. Anyone familiar with Bitcoin in particular and trading in general knows that prices don't change slowly and gradually, either way. It is almost always an abrupt rise or fall, totally unexpected most of the time. From this perspective, the longer the market remains boring, the scarier it becomes as it should be clear as day that the next breakout will be cataclysmic, mind-boggling and earth-shattering, with fortunes lost and made

And the market was far from boring back then. In the first months of that year the price had crashed below 200 dollars, then rose to almost 300 and plummeted again to 200 in August. Since September Bitcoin started to rise and reached 400 dollars by the end of the year. The market was never boring back in the day as the price had been changing every other day in the range of 5-10%. Now compare this to what we see now

Apart from that, it is not necessarily an accumulation phase before the surge. It may in fact be a dissipation phase before the purge. Remember how it happened in November last year? We were also in a sideways market for a few months in the 6-7k range, and I guess the market was looking boring to many as well, with people thinking Bitcoin had been gaining momentum before rising to new local highs. Lol. I'd rather have a boring 2019 that see another wild year that's mostly moving downwards 😛 2018 isn't boring. It's anxiety inducing lol. As slow steady movement even just to 8k at the end of the year is enough for me.

Merits for this big hit, you nailed it! Every year we are seeing same reactions, even thou prices are high, many people from here didn`t see crypto before 2017! Even now with this range of fluctuations I can`t understand how can someone say that crypto market is boring? What is more exciting than this? Maybe gambling, but you can gamble with crypto too, right?

Yes that's reality, more people only focus on one coin and they're not even thinking of picking of those alts that has also great potentials. It made think of Warren Buffet's quote of "don't pull all eggs on one basket" That words means so much so if we will apply that with cryptocurrency, I guess some holders will realize how they've been doing such. Maybe we should find other ways to become profit earner using other ways such us passive income from other crypto coins.

Yes it was boring at first because the price started too low and that remains for a verry long time but eventually it got fun after we see its potential  but right now we are now on the boring stage again because the value got stuck and seems stagnant for a while .

when bitcoin is down , other coins follow so theres no point of switching to other since they were also down .  btc also got the highest price and that means this is the only one that is profitable , so why look for other options ?

This point can be easily understood

That is, it is no use (as well as profit, for that matter) looking for other options at this time (and probably at the coming times too). That's okay and that's what most people kind of understand. But it also means that you should use this bear market to disinvest your capital from losing coins (i.e. all coins other than Bitcoin) and use the low prices to invest in Bitcoin. Indeed, it may be worth to keep some part of your trading balance in altcoins purely for speculative purposes, but the majority of your cryptocurrency capital should be invested in Bitcoin. And that's the part people seem to misunderstand

Halving being in 2020 there is no reson to see anything spectacular this year.
Probably a slow and long rise of BTC price for the next months. After we find the real bottom.

The term "stable" is an absolute misnomer here

Since no speculative market can be considered stable by definition, quasi-stable at most. It is so because only real value can truly support prices at a certain level. But in the lack of such (which is the case with cryptocurrencies), no price should be considered stable as it can crash or surge instantly due to purely speculative (read, arbitrary) reasons (e.g. some whale dumping his massive stash of coins)

You can't say its a boring year for crypto, the year has just started. If the price right now is somehow getting stable, you can assume there is something that will happen in the coming weeks. I never saw something that could happen to some atlcoin today but certainly there are big development.
