Could we not have the option of transparent polls? I would love to click and see who voted for what.
As the poll starter it would be nice to select transparent voting only

Each block is stacked on top of the previous one. Adding another block to the top makes all lower blocks more difficult to remove: there is more "weight" above each block. A transaction in a block 6 blocks deep (6 confirmations) will be very difficult to remove.

Because most people don't want the pollster to know perhaps?

Not sure what you mean, but I doubt Theymos has the time for such nonsense changes. People are less apt to vote if the pollster can see who voted for what. .... Truth..

Not sure what you mean, but I doubt Theymos has the time for such nonsense changes. People are less apt to vote if the pollster can see who voted for what. .... Truth.. Not just the poller - everyone can see. I mean they have the choice they can vote or not vote if they are worried about others seeing how they vote. I would have thought this forum already had this capacity but is muted atm @mikey (i have no wish to make every post about the gang forever more) anyway ...People tell me that although "the gang" all are in each others top 10 fans and receivers, and although they all vote for each other on DT1 and although they gang up on every thread I mention about the "non existing gang" that actually there is no " collusion" and no "gang". I must face it that meta twilight zone is not receptive to this corroborating evidence or in general even observable FACTs. So when I can avoid talking about the gang I will leave it out unless people like yourself mention it. Thanks for mentioning it. Back to the transparent polls.

Public voting systems are generally bad in my opinion. Even if you don't care that people know what you are voting you will likely take into consideration what others might think of you even subconsciously. Which could actually reflect on the voting result negatively. By having anonymous votes it allows you to use your initiative without worrying what others might think of that. If you want your voice to be heard then you can always have a discussion within the thread. However, I would vote in favour of keeping all votes anonymous.
Also, bare in mind how much of a headache it would be to display hundreds of individual voters, and what they voted.

If voting wasn't anonymous, all members of the foxhole butt-sniffing pussy-petting trust/merit club/cult/gang would vote the same way out of fear of being punished by Lauda/suchmoon/whoever's in charge this week. As you're such a big proponent of FREE SPEECH, I'm sure you don't want that.

I've thought about it before as a poll option, and I think that it would be useful, but implementing it has never approached the top of my to-do list.

A transparent poll can be conducted by creating a thread that poses a question. Those that reply "vote" with their posts.
I don't see what the problem is.

Polls voted on the forum are normally lucky to scratch anywhere near a hundred responses or so. Statistically, in relation to the number of active forum members, most are not significant enough to conclude, and are often biased in accordance to the board they are placed in.
On the other hand, they can be interpreted as relevant within as small subset of the forum (i.e. what do the "frequent" posters on Meta think about so and so as opposed to a question such as "have you tested lightning network" which would require a larger audience and response).
Even so, nominal/anonymous polls could be a custom selected option by the OP, just as the decision to make a thread self-moderated (on some boards).

I think the Transparent system or the openness of a decision made by the way or mechanism or regulation that is set is not right my thinking, For reasons: information relating to organizations is easily and freely available and can be accessed by those affected by the policy, And maintaining the balance of the forum information that should not be known by the public, which is often referred to as "confidential", then there must be clear / specific criteria for that.

It would be a helpful alternative option I think. I've suggested in the past that you should also be able to limit voting to specific rank as well (Ie only Senior Members and above can cast a vote (but you could chose the member group yourself)). In certain issues it would be helpful to exclude lower ranks. It would also limit manipulation and abuse from alts. Is it allowed to any voting system?
Yes. Maybe not general governmental elections but many other voting systems are done so publicly. Anonymous voting has it's place but so does public voting (and they both have positive and negatives). Transparent polls might stop people from voting against the "gang" don't you think so?
They would be free to create their own anonymous poll. Public voting systems are generally bad in my opinion. Even if you don't care that people know what you are voting you will likely take into consideration what others might think of you even subconsciously. Which could actually reflect on the voting result negatively.
This is generally the issue, but you can set the poll here to see how the voting is going on without casting a vote which can also influence things. If you were going to vote one way but then see the majority are voting another you either might just not bother or vote for the one that is likely to win anyway since you feel your vote may not count.

Transparent voting is not a necessity as long as you care about the result of the poll more than the people taking part in it. A person should not be concerned about the people voting for either of the options provided in the poll unless they have started the poll only to check the mindset of some people about a specific topic/thing. I doubt if a lot of people would even cast their vote (in some cases, in this forum) if they know that the poll starter or the public can see what they voted for.
