The project Waves X, which is supposed to be a fork of the Waves blockchain, collects Waves Account Seeds in their Telegram Group.

Here is a conversation the CEO of Metacert had in their Telegram Group:

Even Sasha Ivanov already tweeted about these scammers.

So everyone who actively participates in their Bounty campaign should stop promoting this project now!

Please be careful guys and never (seriously never!) give your seed or private key to anyone!

Thank you for the warning. It is suspicious why the wave X needs our seed for the fork.  When claiming for fork coin or airdrop, never give out private key or seed.

Nice find!

They usually use now a fork to scam the community. And to those hopefuls that they think they can earn and get free coin with these forks won't careful. Just don't give your private keys or seeds to anyone. Don't trust anyone with it, those are your funds so don't give it as a requirement to their forks.

It is sad to hear about it, because in general it seems to me that the platform waves today also does not have a great reputation. As I recall on this platform, a huge number of scam projects and it seems to me that there are more of them there than at ETH

Is Metacert also John in WAVEsx telegram channel?

Its definitely now a good thing to put your seed anywhere, its like asking for the private key of the wallet. you just can't trust anyone who will be asking for it, its not normal.
If you knew this enough you won't even be using your private key to login to the MEW for ETH.

I often find this kind of phishing web and I suggest not accessing the wallet on the website other than on the official wallet website or the official application from Waves

Good post.
It is always important to point out scams and even more important to have proof.

It always amazes me how people just throw common sense away because they are greedy.
Because thats what it comes down to, the appeal to your sense of greed.
Give me this and you will get a lot more!

In the case of seeds, I thin ka better example would be credit or debit cards.
It's more like giving someone your card and pin.

think about this: someone comes up to you, you have no idea who they are, but they say, "Hi if you give me your credit card and pin I promise I will give you money!"
Doesn't it sound crazy to believe that person?
Yet people still give their private keys away.

This is no different from the Eth hardfork scam just a few days ago. It is really surprising how desperate some of these airdrop/bounty seekers are, even giving out seeds/keys.

This is a useful information. Which is why I will never buy the idea of so!e people who are not the real developers of a coin, to issue hardfork.
Even the real developers do not ask for keys. Most times, the easiest way for them will be to tell you to keep your coin in your wallet or on exchange, to automatically receive the hardfork.
Scammers are seriously going advantage of the hardfork.

They usually use now a fork to scam the community.

That's hilarious coming from someone promoting Yoshit, the most blatant scam exchange in crypto, in his sig & profile......

No doubt Yoshit will list this too, like they did ETCV (same scammer crew):

This is the ANN thread : https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5091265.0 ?
Except fool and greedy peoples will never provide wallet seed. Peoples even don't bother to search on google. There is lot of information. However just search their ANN thread if I am not wrong. OP should post with thread link and scammer profile link. Try to use correct scam accusation format from pin post.

The other way round.  Wink

John is one of the scammers of the WavesX team.
Paul Walsh is the founder of metacert.
