It really is a big and challenging year for Ethereum, one of the biggest challenges is getting back the second position, and making the ICO safe for  investors because they are using Ethereum smart contract for their ICO, and of course, helping the market to get back again.

Making the ico safer is not a responsibility of etherium anymore . eth is only a platform for a creation of erc20 based tokens  but i agree that one of the biggest challenge of eth is to get back on his spot .

Lol how can you say ?  Arent you aware that eth will be undergoing onto a new fork ?  That event can probably help to increase the price of eth and maybe it cause a new ath   .   though even if no fork will occur , eth wont still drop to zero because people will always have a reason to buy it  .

It was an anticipated update and in fact it has temporarily affected the price of ETH and it goes up, but the planned launch was postpone and the team are very transparent with that, so I believe the postponement is not a big deal.

perhaps at this time ethereum is still safe, but not for the future. if ethereum doesn't have new things sooner or later users will switch to more profitable platforms. see EOS and Stellar ready for the day they have new users, and vice versa ethereum starts to be abandoned.

this year if ethereum is still spinning on the same problem, I doubt he will survive in the years ahead. the reason why ethereum is still strong is because many projects have used their dapps.

Ethereum was too strong on end of 2017, the price went crazy to $1.4k but then sad things happened and the price went down under the $100 lines and braked all of us. And yes, this should be challenging year for the Ethereum because its price already lost too much and the ETH lost the second place to Ripple in coinmarketcap. It has to be get up and it should happen fast.

I agree that this year will be difficult for the etherium. There are a lot of competitors. They all develop rapidly. If the team is not able to quickly improve its platform, then ethereum will be hard in the future.
