I think that with the advent of proper regulation, cryptocurrencies will become a means of payment. In my opinion, it will be as convenient as using Apple Pay or Google Pay and most likely the first cryptocurrency to make such payments will be BTC or XRP.

I think the OP might be  talking about using it to pay for deals that are done offline, which in my opinion and with what i have seen, it is happening.
In my own country, some traders or merchants, use theirs for making purchases from another country.
This helps them a lot to boycott taxes, meaning tax evasion, that can be deducted when transferring fiat.

Many cryptocurrencies are already used for fast payments (LTC, DOGE, ETH, etc.). I think future will bring us really simple (one-click) and usefull dapps, wallets.

I hope that cryptocurrency will become a payment tool and transaction tool, like money. Some countries have this feature. But it is still underdeveloped. I cannot pay utility bills or cryptocurrency goods in my country.
