Kartik Sharma and Brevis patnership added good score on the board. Pat Cummins and Sakib Hussain from SRH, both played a nice spell and collectively took 5 wickets. 180 target set out by Chennai Super King for Sunriser. That's a modest but pitch was not good and easy for the batsman. SRH lost their important player Travis Head at powerplay. Even though SRH try hard for the win. Especially Ishan Kishan who showed an immense calm during the pressure. And his innings was incredible 70 for 47 balls. Heinrich Klassen also provided support with 47 runs. This is why I have been saying that Sanju Samson's move to the Chennai Super Kings was a tactical mistake by the CSK management. They spent a huge amount of money, and in the end the team balance was destroyed. And Samson plays a good knock only once every 4-5 matches. And they don't have any backup for the other matches. Ruturaj Gaikwad as the captain has proved to be the other disaster for this season. He is neither scoring runs, nor excelling in the captaincy department. And the less talked about their bowlers, that better. I don't think that CSK will manage to qualify for the playoffs.

Sunrisers Hyderabad have now secured their playoff berth with victories over likes of Gujarat Titans, Royal Challengers Bengaluru etc. Cracking 181 at Chepauk is never easy, as pitch slows up in lights and it is really difficult for new hitters to clear boundary. Experience of Ishan Kishan was deciding factor and his brilliant knock of 70 runs anchored chase and he played cricket at perfect pace alongside Heinrich Klaasen.
This loss is huge blow for Chennai Super Kings top four aspirations. Their middle order was given chance by Dewald Brevis with his big knock but bowling group could not hold them back. This has opened race for last playoff seat up completely as everyone now looks to next big clash between the Rajasthan Royals and LSG, where stakes will be very high.

I think that for teams that are coming it will be test of skills to play tournament at this pace on traditional spinning track overseas. Teams will be more accustomed to quick and bouncy conditions at home and slower surface will open up new set of playing styles. It makes coaches look at their bowling line up in different light and to go with slow bowlers to raw pace. Travel arrangements will be difficult, but people will feel tournament is larger and more important when it is played in front of enthusiastic, full house.

Too many changes while Jaiswal is leading RR, but here the start is not looking good. LSG openers Josh Inglis and Mitchel Marsh both have blitzing starts at the end of the power play; the score is 83, and both are doing their jobs with their best. It looks like it is not the start RR was looking for.

Mitchell Marsh is in good form in the last few matches. If they keep playing like this, LSG is going to have a good total, which can increase problems for RR, who is looking to win their last two games and spot into the top 4. In this crucial game, having an inexperienced team is looking weird; they needed to keep things on a good level because this defeat can increase their problems.

I agree with you, the news is really exciting. Having the opening match of the BBL in Chennai will be a great experience for both the Indian player and the audience. Especially on the traditionally spin friendly pitch in Chennai it will be a dangerous thing to see how the Aussie bowler struggle.

It is true that England and Australia are showing great care to host some IPL match in their country. But the BCCI is completely reluctant to send their golden goose out of the country. Having two or three BBL match in Chennai does not mean that the IPL will go out of the country. This is just a cultural exchange. Actually Cricket Australia is playing a big brain game here. This is a very suitable soft diplomacy for the marketing of their tournament. In future we may see more IPL match being held outside the country. It seem that keeping the tournament confined to Indian soil alone will not be possible for much longer

If the bowlers could have bowled a little more controlled, LSG could have secured the win. But Lucknow's bowlers' performance was not good. They could have taken only two wickets in 16 overs. Rajasthan Royals wonderful comeback in this match winning the match by huge 7 wickets margin against Lucknow Super Giants. Lucknow Super Giants played well scoring huge 220 runs on board but their bowler didn't defend this big total and lost match badly.
