you can not compare value of bitcoin with value of something like gold when they don't follow the same unit of measurement. it is like saying you are taller than 1 kilogram!
when you say value of bitcoin you are talking about value of 1.00000000 BTC and when you say value of gold you are saying value of 1 OZ of gold not 1 kilogram or 1 ingot, 1 grain, 1 troy ounce,... so first clarify why you are comparing the biggest unit of bitcoin (1 whole BTC) with smallest unit of gold and why aren't you using the smallest unit of bitcoin (1 satoshi) to do the comparison.

Just stop with the Gold comparison. Obviously, those two are different yes they are both used as store of value but bitcoin is way more different specially with the max coins we have for bitcoin which is 21 million. If bitcoin will skyrocketed, we can't really tell when or how much will its top price will be. So let the gold bugs continue buying golds as speculative asset and let crypto enthusiast do the same.

Gold is sort of steady moving assets with no use case other than to hold it. What's the point of making fun of OP? He's obviously referring to its use as a form of money and value storage in the more 'recent' times. I think your comment is more indicative of ignorance than OPs post.

Gold doesn't move as much as Bitcoin does because it's in a league of its own as developed and super liquid asset. Bitcoin isn't a developed asset, nor does it provide the liquidity needed to satisfy large movers.

Bitcoin has a long way to go to be on the same level as gold, but the possibility is definitely there. Just keep in mind that it won't be easy to shift from +90% speculation to something that's more focused on use and utility.

I think it's the physical stuff that can easily be lost. Losing bitcoins in an online wallet is not likely. If you have adequate protection, your wallet also probably won't be hacked. Gold jewelry can be lost, gold bars can be stolen from a flat as well as from the bank. Gold can also be faked more or less, which is another issue. It's been around for a long time, but it wasn't used as money for almost all of it as well. And it's not used as money anymore. I believe there can come time when people will not care about some yellow metal, its value is also based on cultural significance and social recognition, rather than physical properties.

Value of bitcoin is not double of value of gold. Bitcoin marketcap is $69B Gold marketcap is $8T. That makes Gold 120 times more expensive then Bitcoin.
