Yes because almost all cryptocurrencies is pegged to price of BTC and ETH . So if BTC rises and your altcoin cost lets say 0.0003 BTC ( Currently its 1.09 USD ) and BTC goes to 6k USD range , then your altcoin probably still will be priced at 0.0003 ( but at this moment your 0.0003 BTC will be double value than before ) . It depends actually if your altcoin will be dumped or not .. But yea , btc helps to gain value for other alts aswell ..

I strongly agree, bitcoin is the main reason why the market can be this big. it becomes normal if when bitcoin starts to move, all altcoins will be affected. if the ETF is finally approved, this will be the reason for the next bull run. and I saw yesterday's news that it seemed the SEC agreed to this.

But if you look into the past, many low quality coins also got pumped along with bitcoin market because people are not bothering about what is the actual concept and what is the reason a coin is existing but they are all simply following coinmarketcap's ranking system and also the success of a coin is truly depending on how heavily it is being promoted among crypto community.
