While crawling through some old posts I found this: I would advice everyone to change their passwords on this site asap. I just lost the above quoted account, nixon99. I'd had for 3 years. I can no longer login. The password has been changed and not by me. Bit of a coincidence don't you think. Yet the moderators in this thread seem oblivious to his posts and dealings.
So I messaged the nixon98 account and was told that he had contacted his old account and was told that they had bought it. Some of the PMs exchanged. When I asked the new owner of the account why it was being used I received this reply.
"Hello! We bought this account from a trusted trader"
Do you still have the message ? Can you forward it to me ? Can you give me an answer?
Hello! We bought this account from a trusted trader

It is not an alt. It is a hacked account that either is being used by the hacker or has been sold (stolen goods)

It is not an alt. It is a hacked account that either is being used by the hacker or has been sold (stolen goods) Given your OP only has quotes it's a little hard to get that from the three posts. In any event it didn't warrant four merits. It's kind of a flimsy thread.

I don't see any proof that the account was hacked, only an allegation. I spent a little time scrolling through the post history, didn't see a gap in shitposts, just an incessant stream. Nor did I find an address posted or any way to prove ownership.
The accuser seems to have created the account nixon98 just to levy the accusation. I see the posted quote of the PM, but those can easily be forged. I don't know that there's enough evidence that would convince me to paint nixon99 red.

Are you serious ? Prior to the being hacked the account doesn't post in Russian once. Immediately after the hack it starts posting mainly in Russian. It has probably had more than one owner since. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=332356;sa=showPosts;start=400

It's been more than a year between when nixon98 appeared and when those PMs happened, and they only surfaced because xtraelv asked... unlikely that this would be such a slow long con for some random account. But perhaps nixon98 could report that PM e.g. to hilariousandco to verify.

Your suspicion is not wrong, PM message could be edit. But I don't think xtraelv edited it. Since nixon99 self admitted that is bought account so red tag is appropriate in my opinions. Since your question is about legitimate of accusation it could be verify by moderators. If nixon98 had not sent PM to xtraelv then he can come on this thread with his statement. So he can report PM to any specific moderators to verify legitimate. Red tag could be removed if he able to provide valid evidence. My opinion is nixon98 (current holder) bought this account. And that account has been hacked. So I have tag him, I will remove feedback if he come here and provide evidence. If it's true that he bought this account then I am not going to remove feedback. nixon98 forwarded the conversation to me when I requested to see a copy of the PM after I saw their accusation from October 2017
Type mistake, Got it now. I have edited post. However, if nixon99 isn't bought account then he can come here and defend with evidence. And nixon98 could report the PM since both account is active. So problem could be solve.

Also the accusation by nixon98 was made in the same thread as the last post nixon99 had posted before the hack accusation. Prior to the hack accusation nixon99 posted in that thread frequently. After the accusation they didn't. The account is used to announce the [ANN][ICO] 🚀 AZBIT - Blockchain Investment Banking thread. Other accounts associated with the project have symilar accusations against it. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=trust;u=397698 cryptotech - hacked or sold accusation https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=trust;u=2527625 crimson876 - attempting to solicit paid comments from senior accounts I see the posted quote of the PM, but those can easily be forged. I don't know that there's enough evidence that would convince me to paint nixon99 red.

Irony. xtraelv is using screen shots to prove their point. Seems like only a couple of days ago xtraelv was debunking screen shots as being doctored. All of this should have been in the OP not teased out like decayed teeth.

I'm not saying you're wrong, I'm just saying the evidence isn't clear-cut enough for my liking. Your suspicion is not wrong, PM message could be edit. But I don't think xtraelv edited it. The notion that xtraelv doctored the PM never even crossed my mind. I certainly didn't mean to imply that.

It is a hacked account that either is being used by the hacker or has been sold (stolen goods)
We don't know that. Account is either hacked and sold or just sold which happens occasionally, someone sells account and tries to reclaim it. Azbit? Well, I wonder how their advisor Roger didn't advice them not to buy forum accounts

I tend to believe that nixon99 account changed hands at least two times.
It is difficult to tell if the account is hacked or sold (first 8 month stretch from October to May '18). The account was then apparently sold (according to the current owner of nixon99).
One thing feels weird though, apart from a single msg in Quark ANN, nixon98 really didn't try to get his account back. No posts in Meta, nothing and we all know how bitchy (and rightfully so) are people who have lost access to their high-ranked accounts.

That did strike me as odd. But the post was just before the posting habit changes. Also no address was staked so they may have just given up on the hope of reclaiming it. Some people bitch and moan over something like that while others write it off to bad experience. They may have previously seen people being unsuccessful in reclaiming their account. I messaged the nixon99 account as well for an explanation but have received no reply yet. They did log on since.... The best scenario is that the victim gets their account back.

I can no longer login. The password has been changed and not by me. I wish bpip have existed back in '17 so we could see account changes i.e passwords/email. He only mentions password has been changed. You'd ultimately get an email with the option to lock your account, right? I guess he missed that opportunity as well.

Hi! This situation is extremely bad for Azbit project, yes. I hope you could help us with this problem. I'm a community manager of Azbit project. As I know, account Nixon99 was bought in May 2018 for using to promote our project in Bitcointalk forum. The employee who bought the account Nixon99 is now fired. But we are very sorry that he unfairly approached the question of checking this account and bought stollen acc. Of course, we didn't know that this acc was hacked, and we are using it only from May 2018, as you can check it. All dealings with the seller were made by the fired employee via Telegram. So we only have a seller account on Bitcointalk, but there is no any proves, unfortunately. As I said above, This situation extremely harms to the reputation of our project. So could you advise us what can we do to minimize the reputation loses? I have a reply back. While I consider the rest of the project probably doesn't warrant being tainted by the feedback the account is confirmed as bought. I sent the following reply: My recommendation would be to negotiate the return of the account to the owner from which it was stolen. Deleting all posts relevant to the project and post made after it was hacked. Locking any threads which cannot be deleted. Post a public post explaining clearly what happened and what action was taken. Then getting a copper account specifically for the project to post a new ANN thread. A copper is a paid account that allows all the same privileges as a senior account. It doesn't have any history attached to it and doesn't pretend to be someone who it is not. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=credit;promoteIt also allows you to name it appropriately for the project. (e.g. AZBITcommunitymanager) The information sent by nixon99 appears to match that suggested by: I tend to believe that nixon99 account changed hands at least two times.
It is difficult to tell if the account is hacked or sold (first 8 month stretch from October to May '18). The account was then apparently sold (according to the current owner of nixon99). <snip>

Who says nixon didn't sold his account himself for Bitcoin ?
Seeing that he made no action to get his account back it seems reasonable to belive so.

Unless there is proof to the contrary it would be reasonable to believe his claim that it was hacked. Everything else he has told me so far has been able to be verified as truthful. 1) the accusation was made at the time within days of the alleged hack and has not been edited since. 2) nixon98 was warning others in his Octorber 2017 post. 3) the account was only a JrMember account or symilar at the time. 4) no address was staked for recovery 5) bitcointalk only recovers a very small number of accounts - it is notoriously hard to recover 6) I did not ask what else he did to try to recover the account. 7) The account was in existence when the bitcointalk database was hacked. I would advice everyone to change their passwords on this site asap. I just lost the above quoted account, nixon99. I'd had for 3 years. I can no longer login. The password has been changed and not by me. Bit of a coincidence don't you think. Yet the moderators in this thread seem oblivious to his posts and dealings.

All i can say about nixon is he is an asshole trying hard to make money scamming other people with scam coins and defaming people who exposed these scams and destroyed his "investment"
Would he get that account it would be used for nothing good.
