0.001 * 1000 = 1 BTC and this is not profitable for them.

Anyway, from my observation, I think the price is not attractive also the entry free. When people calculate they will keep 1BTC (assuming 0.002BTC per slot) and they will give away another 1BTC, they (people) lose motivation. As one of the member suggested they can keep a percentage of the collected money. Max may be 20%.

Is it possible to do this with a smart contract?

I mean not with Bitcoin (which seems to be impossible yet) but with some other coin like Ethereum. Yep, the chances are too low compare to the money we use to bet. We need more than 10000% of luck to win
