I agree with the author, blockchain and cryptocurrencies are two complicated things for an average person without proper education. But I can say that if not to get into details, those things are not that complicated: you just need a wallet and a private key.

I am an average person but I do not find paying through cryptocurrency difficult. It is very straightforward just like how you use credit cards or making online payments.
