BTT mostly found in shitty campaigns. They tend to use that strange, incorrect term due to their laziness.
I've been seeing the BTT term for the forum's abbreviation when I started here and I used that too.
I support the way you used it, with forum word, and without abbreviation.
Any kind of abbreviation, BCT, BTT, BTCT is confusing one.

But whenever I talk/discuss to someone who is a member here on any messaging platform, I mostly use forum no any abbreviation used. Then use bitcointalk if I write/talk to someone who's not a member here but knows crypto since using BTT, BCT will trigger them to think as its a kind of token or altcoin.

Though I'm much prefer using BCT even though I used BTT before. But much preferably if theymos will give his opinions for this--if and only if this is necessary.

Even in the event that an attacker gains more than 50% of the network's computational power, only transactions sent by the attacker could be reversed or double-spent. The network would not be destroyed.

Well, at least there's an understanding towards knowing the forum part towards other members and possible future members lol. It does sound like a coin or something, and maybe in the future, even BTCT would be created as @r1s2g3 said. But as you know, BTCT is the free one. That's why I went for it also and makes sense.

Any kind of abbreviation, BCT, BTT, BTCT is confusing one.
That's why I think there should be like an official term. That's the purpose of standards, knowing in every location or board you are, there's an understood meaning towards BTT/BCT/BTCT/BTF, nevertheless, at least you gave your opinion.

After ten days of polling, the highest voting is BCT. With 21 votes. Coming in second BTCT with 18 Votes.

I think we have a winner here. There would still be no solid understanding, in general, what abbreviation we should use, but it's nice that some people shared their opinions towards it.

Congrats to those who voted BCT!  Cheesy

I prefer BCT though BTT is still good but BTCT could be hardly connect to bitcointalk. Why I prefer to use the BCT?, because it is all about a forum with discussions of different coin. So it will be clearly represented by BCT and this is why I am in favor of it. People around the world knows how to called btt forum or bct forum.

However, the polling place was closed and I could not have voted yet.

The vote you prefer is the one who wins the POLL. Anyways, maybe you weren't reading with the reason why BTCT is my preferred but it's okay. You could just read it. Thanks for your opinion though, you were a little too late.

I've mostly used BCT, though (while some may dislike it) I do think BTT rolls off the tongue pretty well (as well as being more distinct, at least when comparing it to the Bitcoin ticker symbol (BTC)). IMO BTCT is a bit too long of an acronym - once I've typed out more than 3 letters, I might as well type out the forum name in full.

Agreed.
Typing the forum name of forum as bitcointalk.org forum, rather than any acronym or simply bitcointalk forum.
Because who knows in the future, crypto world might have bitcointalk.com, bitcointalk.ca, and some others similar sites.

Some opinions.
From what I've seen, "BTT" is only used by clueless bounty spammers. Real users refer to the site as BCT or just Bitcointalk if you're not too lazy to type Tongue
Honestly, I have read some bounty topic, that mentioned about BTT, or even in telegram or Discord channels.
At that time, around more than one year ago, I did not know what it means, honestly.
As @LoyceV pointed out, it tend to be used as BTT by lazy scammers, who even don't care which kind of forum they join to spread their scam projects out.
One more thing, when abbreviation BCT use, we should use it as BCT forum to avoid misunderstanding with any kind of tokens, altcoins launched later. Real crypto enthusiasts will easily known what BCT forum means.

It should be the best if we mention the forum as bitcointalk, the original, full name of it.
If someone are lazy to type down its full name, and if I have to make a vote, I will choose:
Bitcointalk forum, abbreviated as BCT forum.
I would prefer to spend a second to add the word 'forum' at the end.
In the future, there will be something, digital assets, or sites, or stocks, etc. that have its abbreviation, ticker as BCT, BCTT, BTT, so adding the word 'forum' at the end, after the abbreviation always make sense.

In short, I voted for:
BitCoinTalk forum ~ BCT forum.
We need the word 'forum' behind because for people who see or hear about the forum the first time, they don't know that bitcointalk.org is a forum. So, without the word 'forum', they might guess that it is a site, a marketplace, or something different than a forum.

To sum up, the best option (in my opinion) to write or call the forum is:
Bitcointalk.org forum.

BCT is accurate IMO, though I'm using BTT  most of the time when referring to this site, but when BitTorrent got created and popular, it got me confused.
LOL, maybe we should call it BCT, all the coins have ticker, we should also have that one for our forum.
