Yesterday someone transfered 31415.92653500 to a giveaway address.
Thank you very much, whoever you are!

Giveaway is going on! And you should hurry up to get your free coins!
Just fill the form and they are yours!

Are these going as a lump sum or what's the break down?

What do you mean?

Just interested, is one address getting all 31415.92653500 or is it being split to a number of addresses?

All 31415.92653500 were send to one giveaway address, that I have posted earlier. They were summed with BCNs remained on address before this donation. Now the whole sum will be used for further giveaway. So the next giveaway participant will get 10% from  (remained BCN + 31415.92653500)

There are 88540.84000000 BCN on giveaway address right now.
UPD: 25000 BCN were added to giveaway JUST RIGHT NOW. So we have 113540.84000000 BCN for giveaway.

Wow. Thanks!

Now for an awkward question Cheesy

Is that retrospective, as will people who claimed earlier getting a share or so they miss out?

No. But I think, you can take part in giveaway again. However  I personally ask you to do that as much later as possible and with other address.

First of all, the main point of giveaway is not to make money, but to to spread the information about  the currency among people. So in the long run, it will be more advantageous for you if coins are distributed to as many people as possible.
Second, everything should be fair.

Fair enough, I'll not game it.

Thanks for help guys.
I changed RPC port (with --rpc-bind-port) to use value greater than 50000 and it works.

That's good to know. DStrange should create FAQ of some kind with errors and answers to this errors.

It depends. What is your hash rate?

Yes, it seems to be truth. First of all, it is noted on their site:

Quote
The first block was founded 07/04/2012 05:00:00 (GMT).

Then I've used "print_block" command in daemon and what I get was (it's not full version):

Code:
print_block 1
block_id: <13a537627c969dfda1bf6a2688694aa139f66d643073d49afc5cdd75d3c1e400>
{
  "major_version": 1,
  "minor_version": 0,
  "timestamp": 1341378000,
  "prev_id": "a742885cb01d11b7b36fb8bf14616d42cd3d8c1429a224df41afa81b86b8a3a8",
  "nonce": 4122499893,
  "miner_tx": {
    "version": 1,
    "unlock_time": 11,

There's line "timestamp": 1341378000, which is Wed, 04 Jul 2012 05:00:00 GMT

Guys!
I've made special thread with different BCN-related instructions. I hope it will be useful for you. You are also welcome to add yours there.

Thank you, it will be useful for new comers. You should put this in the top of the 1st post so more people can actually start mining.

Also, can I ask for some coins to play with?

Seems all of these getting more and more interesting. I made some search about information i found in whitepaper and bytecoin.org and the very first result is very exiting.
The title of whitepaper is "CryptoNote v 2.0".
So search query "cryptonote bytecoin" gives us a result https://cryptonote.org/
And the things i can read there are amazing, there is a description of technology and its features, and there is a mention of bytecoin as a first real working implementation of that technology.
Definitely stuff to keep eyes on, keep searching fore some more info.

Guys are    pranksters Grin
MSupply = (2**64 - 1) of bytecoin is a "Wheat and chessboard problem" solution.
And it seems that we are at the second half of the chessboard now.
