Who am I?

--> I'm cabalism13, an active user for about a year already. An unidentified user which sometimes troll is a main habit, but for serious discussions I can be somewhat a help. I've been here, lurking around to build my profile as time goes by, I even joined discussions where some issues has been held.

I am once a shitposter, non-contributor and spammer of non-sense and useless infos here in the forum, but I was given a chance. A chance to make my own development, to reach my goals as a good LEGENDARY citizen of bitcointalk, and I'm still on the path of making that into reality.

Why Am I Applying?

--> Back then, I really don't care for my Local Board [Pilipinas], as for it's just like an archival section which has a lot of pure nonsenseless topics and replies from my fellow countrymen.

But now, it's a lot way different from before, I have seen some users whose willing to do a job that is seems to be worthless in the eyes of the shitposters. But that has made me realize that I should also contribute for the beyterment of our Board. And for almost half a year of staying and watching on my Board, the change of the atmosphere is really great.

Because of that, I am willing to award these users for they really worth giving them an award for making their activities valid. Merit distribution in our board is really low compared to the other Boards. And the problem here is that we Normal users are almost in the edge of having ZERO MERITS to spend. Like what I have said on the Reputation Section, it is not always Christmas were we can achieve and received Merits from foreign users.

Before You Criticize Me:

I, somewhat already accepted the fact that I'm not yet worthy to be a Source, but still I will make an application, for the reason it is not for me, but for the users who are worthy to be given Merits in my Board and other Boards like Altcoin Discussion, B&H, etc. Even though, I'm pretty not sure of having my application accepted, but if granted I will put it in a good use.

Not all of us can Speak and Write English, Not all of us Can learn English in just a short period of time, Not all of us can understand the Language we're born to have.

Aralin 4: Mga Mahahalaga sa Pagguhit ng BBCode lvl.I

• 2. coinmarketcap - Makukumpara mo rin ung ATH sa ibang coin at kung nasaan na ang kasalukuyang presyo ng coin mo. Bitcoin and its current devs will eventually evolve to adopt to the needs of the masses that's mathematically working. It will not stay sa proof-of-work consensus, eventually it will solve its (slow) scaling issues currently at 7 tx/sec to the needs that of it's big network and once the padora's box has been opened, it's contents are here to stay.

On the flip side, There's the fact last year as early as aug 2018 and revewing dec 2018, that financial institutions like the tech-savvy NASDAQ, and full of venture capitalists NYSE(currently creating bakkt; expected launch on march 2019) and currently Russia will be looking up going into crypto industry and will be listing the several selected current top coins(which I will not name in here) hopefully expected this quarter 2019.

Bakit ko nasabing booming? dahil it's here to stay to improve and help with its tech and its supply and demand the obsolete financial system.

It blows my mind na andyan na yung malalaking impormasyon sa harapan natin na lumalabas sa crypto industry. Na i-imagine mo ba kung ano ginagawa niyan sa isip ng ibang mga rich pips na nai-intindihan how finance works? These are the type of people whose not into cryptocurrencies and holding it themselves. If the people that dominated the markets and made the markets the world markets-- the financial markets that
we know today and their ancestry who took over it, these same kind of people - ginagawa nila ito for a number of decades at alam nila mismo kung pano kumapit sa isang asset and make that asset worth more. 99% of people don't know this. These people are not creating crypto currency exchanges or these sandbox exchanges para ilabas-pasok mo pera mo para ka magka profit... Exchanges are essentially transferring money from the impatient to the more patient ones and it's a bit of a cliché, promise they don't tell the truth. they are buying cryptos on millions to billions worth of $ as humanely possible on over-the-counters (OTC's) when they hear na malalaking institutions at major players of the financial circle ang papasok sa crypto industry that for them there's a chance for these selected new assets to dominate the market...? When the time comes fiat currencies lose dominance sa market, these rich people will look into crypto currencies to preserve or i-maintain yung wealth o yaman nila.. and that alone makes a case for a $???,???-btc price... If you dont understand this yet, don't worry if you're exposed in the financial markets long enough and survive, you'll understand it.

It blows my maynd, ma hart and ma sawl the fact that we have news na ganito, the top-of-the-list and pioneer crypto, bitcoin should be easily already at its all time high right now even if it's just based on hype and speculations sa NASDAQ and NYSE going to do with it. Nawiwindang ako, ito yung isa sa mga rason, dahil personally I believe (This is my opinion) na kapag meron tayong naganap some type of bull-run-up this year, it will shock so many people---and so many pips will not understand exactly what's happening [We have already 2 major bull run cycles and followed by a bullrun after 1 or 1.5 years after 4-year cycle btc halving; it's a 1-year bear trend, followed by 3-year bull trend sa pagkaka alam ko: one at the birth and adoption of btc in the deepness of the darkweb w/c was unknown to public (and that's not a secret), then start of mass adoption publicly from Jan. 2009 to Jan 2011 then at the end of Jan 2013 to the beginning of  2014(dito din nagsimula nakilala Mt.Gox), then the year I was involved when btc was on $600 level, 2016-2017(and we know what happened)]. Pay attention guys over the last nine months since the crypto market has been going down...Everyone is in this hype and despair phase mode dahil karamihan ay naka focus sa price, but not paying attention on the tech, accumulation and the adoption that's happening. It's not even mass adoption, It's the adoption of the world. Everybody is on technical analysis, but not on the fundamental and statistical analysis. I completely understand... So much fundamental news, so little price, kasi the most important one - the adoption and movements that all the companies behind these coins are making is more important than the price, 100%; sa madaling salita, in kalabaw english, growth is much more important than profits at this stage. BUT you need to remember the 'masses/public' don't look at how many banks are using XRP or xRapid or what country controls the most of a coin. All, everyone at the end of the day cares about is the price. "Is BTC at $6k [resistance] or $10k yet? How do I get in?". Price has A LOT of catching up to do with all this news, because once this bull run restarts again probably at the end of 2019 and entering 2020, it's not going to stop for a very, very, VERY long time...(lol 1 "very" is = 1 year)  then later on, bagsak na naman tayo ng -80 or -90% from ATH... just imagine IF we hit an All-Time-High at the end of the bull cycle of $200,000-btc ... then lagapak down to $30,000-btc the following year!  

If you thought 2017's crypto bullmarket was big at a height of $800+ Bil, wait 'till you see we break the first trillions of dollars allocated to alternative assets begin to roll-in in the next 1- 1/2  years

Upang ipakita ang isang Halimbawa:

Ang huling traded na presyo ng BNB ay 0.000165 BTC, at ang paglaban ay nasa paligid ng 0.000169 BTC. Kung sa tingin mo na ang presyo ay mas mataas pagkatapos ng presyo ay umabot sa paglaban, maaari kang maglagay ng isang Stop-Limit order upang awtomatikong bumili ng higit pang BNB sa presyo ng 0.000170 BTC. Sa ganitong paraan hindi mo kailangang patuloy na panoorin ang mga paggalaw sa merkado na naghihintay para sa presyo na maabot ang iyong target na presyo.



Diskarte: Piliin ang "Stop-Limit" order, pagkatapos tukuyin ang stop price na 0.000170BTC at ang limitasyon na presyo ay 0.000172BTC, na may dami bilang 10. Pagkatapos ay i-click ang button na "Buy BNB" upang isumite ang order.

As someone who always lurks in the Philippines local section, I know for a fact that merits aren't really going around in there, and there really are posts worth meriting that didn't receive any, at all. I think it's about time that the said local section have its own merit source, granted that it will not be abused and merits would only be awarded to those that deserve it.

Also, reading the posts you have cross-linked in here, I can say that they are informative and helpful and should really get some merits. I think I might have to start awarding merits now as I only am the reader type and always have something to do on most times.

Having visited your local board personally numerous times due to my post getting translated & reference I have to support any application coming from the board. You guys truly need an active merit source or even sources. Although I was of the suggestion (as stated in the last thread) getting a permission from theymos for an in-house election would had solved this issue faster. But anyways good luck to you guys.

As for your application, i support you due to the fact I have watched you grow your account to the snr member rank and i must say anyone who have achieve such milestone deserve some credits. I can't understand must of the post though I believe they must be quality ones as personally you have delivered some quality post yourself and it takes one to know one.

Although I am not able to judge your quoted thread but look like OP picked few good post which is deserving more merit in my opinion. There are few more pending application but seems admin isn't encourage to add more merit source lately. My application still pending from more than six months. But I believe in order to build a emphatic forum we need more merit source since merits are decaying day by day. In that point I believe, admin should add more merit source.

Anyway, I am supporting OP, although still I am on waiting list.

- I do always focus on your opinions when surfing the forum, which shows the high level of knowledge and smartness you have. I can confirm that you are a good forum user, helpful, and kind.
- I guess the majority of local boards need more merit sources, especially those having increased activity. In my local board (Arabic), we had always discuss this issue, as we have just one active merit source, AFAIK.

Even I can't understand the content of the chosen posts, but it's clear how much efforts and time have been consumed, and deserve more merit reward.

Thank you for all of the support,even though I still have so much more to prove, until the admin here me out. I guess having so many supporters isn't enough and for what I'm seeing DdmrDdmr is right when we have some conversation via PM lately.

But still I will leave this application open for the sake of my Local Board. I just hope even our Mods can support us with this, even if its not me, as long as we can have an active Merit Source that would be fine for me.

Due to an undeniable changes on our board, I request to grant us one active Merit Source to award users who truly deserves it, I think everybody has the right to rank up as long as he/she is worthy. Without a Source we will soon be having a Merit/Rank-Up Barrier in our Local Board, for not all of us can gain Merits everyday.

Gonna put this thread up on the list for I will take this chance to take a lead, where I will guide my fellow users on that board to the betterment of themselves to the best that I can.

How about people who come from locked boards? This is disadvantage for them, and reasons caused locked boards maybe not come from them. It's not fair for them, but they have to accept it. Personally, I think that more merit sources only create issues, not solve issues. All mods can check everything written in English (because English is international language), but with local languages, things become more shady.
People should simply contribute, enjoy their contributions, then they  will naturally get their merits, for their good posts. It does not matter that there are 0, 1 or 10 merit sources in their local boards. Nowadays, modern people should know English, at least enough to read and write. So, it's enough to join global discussions in the forum. Global means, beyond their local boards.
Having local boards in the forum already a advantage for those guys. They can do something more easily than others. When they see excellent topics, they translated them into their local languages, posted translated topics in their local boards. I don't say their works are unconstructive, but their works (translation) actually much more easily than original authors of those topics they choose to translate. Merits are not scarce (for good posts), even in local boards there are so many people hold their smerits. If someone make good posts, they will certainly have chance to receive merits in their local boards, from their locals.
In a summary, I think they should not complain too much about lack of merit sources in local boards. Keep contributing, then they will all fine, with or without merit sources in their local boards.

More merit sources do no create issues, but rather open the possibility to a more diverse merit awarding criteria and extent. Although naturally supervising local board merit assignment is language limited, the whole Merit System has an inherent amount of assigned trust given to the Merit Sources. If any of them go rouge, eventually they will be spotted, even if on a local board level (and sMerit TXs can be reverted by admin if need be). The possibility of a Merit Source going rouge is a lesser evil in comparison to merit going scarce, and not being awarded on local boards, which will only drive their numbers down. After all, like it or not, merit is part of the ranking scheme, and people like to rank for whatever personal reason they may have. It’s all a virtual game, but most people are into it.

Granted that English is centrepiece of society today, but it is not the sole essence of growth. That’s why international corporations take into account local markets and tailor the products to their culture and habits. Not everything is about being global, and I would rather see additional complementary strengthened local boards around. Besides, many countries still fall short in mastering English well enough to post with reasonable confidence and not end up making a veil attempt at it.

If only … that is how I’m sure the original plan was devised. I can assure you that if my local board were to lack merit sources, the number of weekly awarded sMerits would be measly, and people would certainly never rank-up. Since merit and ranks are incentives, the lack of them would certainly show with poorer content and participation.

Another merit source application from the Philippines and it's a good way to have initiative and confidence to apply for this position. Like what we're saying, it's really hard and you must be responsible for every action you will do. Regarding the 10 posts that should be merited, some of them were just translated into Filipino language, lack of creativity and ideas especially the first one, how to learn BBcodes. I manage to create my own tutorial about BBcodes in our local and it was locked long ago by our moderators (and the reason is still unknown and still hoping for the answers), and that tutorial was simplified and I made my own signature to show that I have the creativity and legitimately know the knowledge about BBcodes, my source is also roslinpl. If those merits will be just given away to those translated topics, people will get merits easily. Those kinds of people will just seek for ultimate threads that will be translated into our language.

I'm still waiting for @crwth's merit application and hoping for him to be a merit source someday because of he/she already marked a name on our local since then. Still, hoping for you and crwth to be a merit source, our local board needed a merit source because of the people of the community, they have the potential to grow so we should give some motivation to continue. It's us to give them hope and be remarkable in our local board. gl

However, I partly agree with him on merting may become shady or at least much easier in local boards due to "nationalism" (maybe a little bit exaggerated). On the topic of “nationalism”, we can’t really have it both ways. If local boards have merits sources, or in its absence, people with meriting capabilities from their own earned merits, then they should award part of their merits there, and those that are circumscribed to the local boards will logically receive and send their merits within the local board.

On my local board, the “nationalism” phenomenon does not really apply. Spanish is the official language in around 20 different countries, with over 460M speakers. With those numbers, our local board is well underdeveloped in regards to its potential.
 
What does happen is that there is a reduced bunch of posters that regularly provide decent content there, and since the core number of competitors is small, they have good chances of being merited (providing one of the merit sources is around). On the other hand, they are likely to be merited in low amounts, as large number (above two or three merits) are barely seen there, and meriting straks are rather small there (the record there is being merited 5 days in a row).

In my case, I merit based on content that enhances the local board, so if that is not met in the posts I read, then posts will go unmerited, with no favour to them for the fact of being a local board. I’ve only awarded 18,72% of my sMerits to my local board, so clearly I oversee the board, but do not just focus on it solely.

I guess using that words on the highlighted format would be rude. In fact, this is not all about creativity and uniqueness, they surely might lack of knowledge but what now? Atleast they have given their shot unto that, Efforts are not meant to be wasted. Besides not all translated topics does get Merits or acceptable to the public, just like what I have said, it is within my own discretion for I have picked those and which is considered to be good.

Filipino are a bit lazy when it comes to understanding other languages. And the fact that they want it in our own language, I guess that would be fine as long as the source has been included to the OP.

Local Boards doesn't have to be unique, its all about discussion and interactions between users coming from the same country, translated topics are also Valid in my case for not all of us can understamd english very well. So it is not really JUST, and regarding on those locked topics, if you weren't able to open it again then I guess it is only applicable to make a new thread for discussion.

If we see something that doesn't have any purpose Report to the Moderator will be the best solution.
My main purpose for these application is to award them for bringing up a topic that is meant to have a serious discussion, as long as its all about Bitcoin, Blockchain etc. Users that have made an effort that has enough quality, awarding them with few gifts will be fine.

P.S. Users will only get an easy Merit if the Source was a faulty one. Then again, in my case it would be not easy.
