Logged-out users will now see a warning in trust-enabled sections if more DT members neg-trust the topic starter than positive-trust him.

This increases the responsibility of DT members not to give negative trust for stupid reasons, but only for things that cause you to believe that the person is a scammer.

Will this STOP those observable liars,and scammers on DT using red trust to silence those that whistle blow on them?

We will watch and see. We believe it will make 0 difference. They will continue to issue red trust for any reason they see fit, especially if you say something about them that is observably true and verifiable but they DO NOT WANT people to know about it.

It will remain a tool for observable liars and scammers to attempt to silence their critics and crush free speech.



Better to make an ORDER: prove that someone is a scammer, or bring a very STRONG case that they are a scammer OR GET BLACKLISTED from DT for giving out red trust to other people who should not have a scammer tag.

Perhaps a single temp red tag (3 days) can be applied for investigations to be done and case submitted for instances of serious doubt. It must be removed after this point if no clear evidence or strong case can not be provided. Perhaps caution under investigation tag for them.

If I were THEYMOS i would also make an ORDER that if clear evidence is presented to you that demonstrates clearly the person is a scammer or a STRONG case for them scamming can be presented then you MUST give them a red tag or describe why you will NOT or you get BLACKLISTED. No more double standards. Why should those that are clearly scammers be given a free pass to scam others ??

Grey areas can be put up for Theymos's own assessment but if you are on the wrong side of 3 disputes after he has studied the evidence then you will be BLACKLISTED. Obviously your judgement is not appropriate to be on DT.

This will bring them more in line and encourage others to play fairly with ALL members.

Just woke up to see this new thing by Theymos, and it seems to be more of a disclaimer that DT feedback might not be given for straight-up scamming reasons, which most of us already knew.  I guess it does put more responsibility on DT members to leave feedback for "the right reasons", it doesn't look like there's a penalty for not doing so.  That's fair.  DT has always policed itself and will continue to.  Members who leave garbage tags won't stay in DT for long, and it puts the onus of relying on trust ratings squarely on whoever is looking at them.  That sounds like something Theymos would do.

Doesn't make OP happy, and I'm not surprised.  He'll never be happy until the trust system is destroyed and there's nothing left to this forum but a shitposted-over toxic wasteland.  Not the kind of forum most DT members are looking for.

1. Lied for financial gain (scammed)
2. Trust abused the system, and given red trust to individuals for them merely stating they will encourage others to examine your post history
3. Been STRONGLY implicated in an extortion scheme


We will welcome a full debate with such an observable liar, scammer, trust abuser and one STRONGLY implicated in a serious extortion scheme. Not to mention the escrow details on that 3000 btc move you pulled, not that we are saying that has as yet a strong case behind it but we feel it should have a transparent full investigation done on it.
