Lol, this is so true. I urge everyone to really put the majority of your investments on bitcoin to avoid getting REKT in the future. Well, you can still invest on some altcoin but at least the your portfolio should be like more than half on bitcoin, just saying.

This is some kind of greed that drives people. Some people saw how BTC grew from almost nothing to $5.5k and they want to believe that with a help of this breakthrough technology he will become rich with their $1 of their pocket money investments. But it is pretty obvious that BTC won't make a fast x100+ so they are searching for something, that would become a new super global currency that is still able to bring them huge profits.

Most coins except Bitcoin are dependent on their teams so when those people will move on to other things or the business will fail, the coin will worth nothing, though they don't already worth nothing. Some like Ethereum is able to survive in the very long term.

True. Unfortunately in this case, the biggest lesson for people would be to actually get burned by their investments. The cryptocurrency markets are a hugely unregulated market, hence we really expect a lot of people who have zero idea on investing and research to be putting significant amounts of money in. I think it's a good thing though, as I'm pretty sure a huge number of people actually learned about money, investing, and information security by learning about the crypto markets.

Those newbies are really very hype on ICO and shitcoins and buying useless crypto and then we will hear them bitching around the community saying they got rekt and the promise to became rich didn't arrived. So lessons learned there, but for those who have matured and grow to be a seasoned investors and just invest on Bitcoin and just continue to hodl, then a new day has dawn because the market is already on the positive side since February. Shitcoins will be shitcoins.

People have been expecting their new coins to be the next Bitcoin. They are trying to believe that there will still be coins which could reach all the achievements that Bitcoin had. It is true we couldn't blame them and even those who have been in the industry for so long also falls for those sweet promise's,
So what more for those who are only new and they have heard so much great stories about Bitcoin so they would believe that it could happen to any crypto.

Indeed most of these investors who are chasing after Next Bitcoin for grab are those who are not doing their due research before chasing Next BitShitcoins instead of chasing Bitcoin. At first, was blaming them for their carelessness but later realize that most derived pleasure of chasing after shitcoin they call Bitcoin in another form.

Nothing compares to bitcoin, one of the things that puts me off some project description that they are " the next bitcoin" or bigger than bitcoin. Much of the altcoins we have now are most likely going to zero eventually when the teams are exhausted from coming up with fake/new partnerships to create a temporary hype with no actual or functional product or service.

You are not far from the truth while trying to chase a possible next bitcoin thousand if not millions end up buying shitty of the shittest coin, today is just the same, they are going through the same cycle again, thinking: I will get it right this time, we can only have just bitcoin only in the market and the rest will remain altcoin, it's the hard truth that has to be accepted.

But it's never late to stop. And is it really that hard to find coinmarketcap.com and figure out the best investment opportunities before investing money? It's weird, but it really seems to me that some people who took part in ICOs and stuff might not even know that there are well-known and reputable cryptocurrencies out there that don't involve that much risk. Others probably invested out of greed, thinking that the time to invest in the giants is missed, so one has to go for hidden gems.
I think that now the situation is as simple as it can get. Top cryptocurrencies have already shown what they are capable of. The market is still very much down, even though it is showing some exciting upward movement sometimes. If one wants to invest in cryptos now, it's a great idea to invest in Bitcoin and maybe a couple of others from the top-10. There always is and will be a risk, but I agree with the op that now is a good time to join.

I'm not that closed-minded towards the possibility of making profits with other coins or what not but the idea is still to earn money. The title of the topic here says it all and probably one of the best things to consider is just buy BTC.

People can get lucky & get really good profits investing in alts but you’re right, there is no next bitcoin.

I’m heavily invested in bitcoin but I do HODL XRP bags. If XRP ever moons I will just use it as fun money. Bitcoin is my wife, anything else is my mistress

I’m not invested in Litecoin but I do think it would be a good investment like RIGHT NOW because the halving is soon & I think it’s near guaranteed to make good profit in the next 12 months if you invest now.

Firstly, no coin will ever replace Bitcoin at any point in time. There is only 1 Bitcoin and it will stay at the top always no matter what.

Secondly, it is possible to earn huge profits or incur huge losses by investing in altcoins(Shitcoin or not) depending on whether the market is bullish or bearish. It all comes down to profit at the end of the day.

Can't really blame them if they saw that there are just a lot of potential candidates on what could bring them nice profits just like what bitcoin brought to those early adopters. Many had been lucky by staying with ETH and other coins and had been reaping the rewards ever since, so it's not wrong for people to place some of their eggs in baskets that are obscure and somewhat unknown but has that potential to bring them handsome profits at the table.

So true, as the image stated, you will only be wrecked if you chased the replacement or the next big one, be responsible enough to take what's already infront of you and maximize whatever it's offers,  never to Chase something that far from reality or else face the consequences.

Honestly, this is one of the best advices I've been seeing of recent. In a bid to get some unreliable profit, a lot of people pump their funds into some token that's just starting instead of putting up in bitcoin. At least we understand bitcoin but those altcoins??? they're all like shitcoins waiting to go down. Why not invest better into bitcoin and save yourself the stress and tension
