@pawel7777. Colby was the favorite UFC fighter of the Donald, however, I speculate that this has changed after how Colby has treated Leon Edward on the press conference before their fight. Colby has insulted Leon's father and Great Britain. I reckon this might have bad feelings for the Donald because in the fight Colby was not anymore trying to win.

This behavior of Colby might have also left bad feelings for uncle Dana who is a close friend of the Donald. There is no honor being given for Colby. He will be lucky if he will receive a hall of fame award, however, this is very much doubtful.

Even taking into account the fact that Colby was playing his role, mentioning Leon's father was crossing the line. But, if I had to guess, Colby fell out of Trump's favour mostly because of failing to win. Trump is not the kind of person who would rally behind a losing fighter. Being vocal about supporting Trump and getting his ass kicked goes directly against the victorious image Trump is trying to maintain.

I think the closer the fight between Conor McGregor and Max Holloway gets the more the odds will shift toward McGregor because he knows how to create hype and attract the audience. But I still believe Max is going to win. Otherwise why is Michael Chandler at the White House? He doesn’t deserve that attention. In my opinion hes a very overrated fighter and not exciting to watch.

I'm still a bit puzzled on why Conor had agreed to fight Max. It's almost guaranteed to be a striking match, and maybe Conor feels confident he can punish him with counters as Topuria did, but he could've gotten easier opponents for his return after a long absence. It could be that this is his official goodbye fight. I don't think he'll be able to get any big fight after he loses this one.

Turns out he has retired almost a week ago, but nobody noticed that. I find it strange that he stayed so silent about it (or media did not pay enough attention to it), because he was one of the biggest mouth and trashtalkers. Such people rarely disappeared silently. He was such a huge fan of Tramp, that it is strange he is not in White House card RAF was a good choice for him. I would say easy money if he is still in good shape.

I'm almost certain there must've been some sort of falling apart between Colby and the UFC. They could've milked his fame to set him up either against a prospective young fighter or with some big name that's also past his prime. He probably could've been a better opponent for Conor than Max is. Imagine all the shit talk coming from both sides.
Even if he didn't want to fight anymore, they could've done some proper announcement instead of quietly moving him to the inactive category.

Why not Chandler? He was promised that fight long time ago. They must have fought after being coaches in Ultimate Fighter. Besides, Max has more chances to finish Conor that Chandler. It will be a return to get ass kicked.

Conor is taking much drugs and drinking much whisky. There also rumors that he has a sexually transmitted disease from a woman. If he needs more money, this certainly because he is spending more than he can afford. I am not implying that he is bankrupt. He has much assets. Apparently I don’t know if this news of Conor taking drugs are really true and valid which I know nothing about, but I can consider a situation where someone is going through something and he can only find comfort in alcohol and drugs, but I’m not supporting such things are really good, well I don’t know how his financial situation is right now, it can be true that he is probably bankrupt and we can also think and suggest that none of that is true because we don’t know about Conor’s finances and personal life, and everything people are talking about might just be some rumors, you never can tell, but personally I’m more interested in the fight against Max and I feel it’s going to be an interesting fight, and I’m excited with the matchup.

It's not like he has to fight the top-ranked guys.
The last time he was returning after a long absence, they matched him up against Donald Cerrone, who, if I remember correctly, was somewhere in the bottom of the top 15. There are plenty of potential names he could fight instead of Max. I wouldn't be surprised if Dustin Poirier would be willing to un-retire just to fight Conor one last time.

I read that Conor has 2 fights left in his contract, including the fight against Max. It could be that he wants to complete it and be free to fight anywhere he wants, including Netflix events and alike. But if he loses those last two fights, it will be super hard to salvage his career.

They needed someone who Conor would beat 100%. But this time they need a big name and fight to gain back audience from Netflix who is stealing UFC and Paramount audience by sponsoring Jake Paul mma promotion events.

Anyway, speaking about Conor this really a strange fight because he will fight Max in welterweight division. Max used to be light and featherweight all his career. Again UFC is creating better conditions for Conor. He is not able to cut weight so Max will have to debut as welterweight. Does not look fair. Welterweight is full of either no-names to fight Conor or those who would rip his head

Conor McGregor likely has the confidence that he already beat Max Holloway once, and that might be the reason he took the fight rather than waiting for Michael Chandler or Nate Diaz.

I hope that Conor McGregor does not back out at the last moment citing some injury, if not there is no way he could beat Max Holloway, who is a much better and more dangerous fighter than when they first met. If he loses, this will likely be the last fight we see Conor.

Makes sense. There's probably no point in trying to slowly bring Conor back to his former glory by giving him easy opponents. At his age and with such a long period of inactivity, he could lose to anyone. He also has two fights left in his contract, so if the UFC used these two fights to "rebuild" him, there is a risk he could go elsewhere (after his contract is fulfilled) and other organisations (say MVP/Netflix) would reap the most benefits from his return.
So I can understand why the UFC matched him up against Max, but I'm not sure why Conor has agreed to it. Is he fighting for the money? Is this his goodbye fight and he just wants to give his best and officially announce his retirement? Because if he was planning to resume his mma career and fight multiple fights, fighting Max seems like a horrible choice for the first fight.

Well, Conor gained so much weight that there was no way for him to cut it to 155. So it was take it or leave it for Max. I don't think it will be that much of an advantage to Conor anyway. It's almost guaranteed to be a striking match, so bigger and slower Conor could have a hard time connecting, plus, the risk of him gassing out increases the heavier he is.
Max's walkaround weight is likely way above 170, and he has a height/reach advantage.

It wouldn't be a good idea to book McGregor against unknown or rarely known opponent because Conor is a superstar. If Conor loses against an unknown guy, it will be a complete end to this career but if he loses against someone like Holloway, it's not a big deal. Also, the reason why they chose Holloway for Connor is that Holloway is a star as well and a legend in the UFC. Besides this, these two have a history. They had their first fight in 2013, which McGregor won. To make a rematch, makes perfect sense.
To sum up, Since McGregor is the biggest-selling UFC PPV of all time, t makes more sense to match him with another, simiarlyl marketable opponent.
I personally would love to see Conor VS Holloway over Conor VS Chandler.

Very predictable in my opinion. Hence why I predicted it .

I'm not sure how much of a future Teixeira has in the UFC. Beyond his height, he seems to struggle. I think he could be fun to keep around, but I don't see him breaking into the rankings and actually staying there for any meaningful period. However, that's okay. Not everyone needs to be ranked, we need fighters who just make good fights. I just know how ruthless the UFC can be sometimes.

Yup!  But that one was expected.  I think he def deserves a title shot.  Has he already fought Ankalsev?  That would be a solid match up imho.

In a post fight press conference, Dana White already said Tsarukyan is up next for the title after Topuria vs Gaethje.  The match could be in Spain.
