I think Conor will be far more exhausted than Holloway.  Maybe I'm wrong, but I suspect his memory will quickly return when he steps in that cage just how difficult it is to fight at that level.  I was surprised to see that Holloway is such a heavy favorite, as I thought the Conor fans would be throwing money at his return.  It seems they are remaining cautious, which is a good take.  I really don't see how Conor can win this fight, but I would love to see it happen.

I watched an interview with Conor McGregor and Brett Okamoto where McGregor looked really calm, almost in a zen mode. He was praising God for his calm composure, which was surprising. In the interview, he claimed that he is confident and wants to prove everyone wrong, while being well aware of the fact that fighting Max Holloway is a massive hurdle for his return fight.

The way I see this fight playing out, Conor McGregor tries to hunt for a finish in the first two rounds. But if the fight gets dragged into the deep water of the later rounds, Max Holloway will pick him apart to secure a TKO victory.

I also saw a couple interviews with him lately and he does seem to have his head in the right spot.  He's mad that he isn't considered the GOAT and wants to show everyone that he is.  He'll for sure be hunting a knock out, but I don't think he's capable of getting Holloway after so long away from the sport.  I do think there will be lots of striking going on, so hopefully it is super entertaining.  I could see it going either way, but am hopeful enough that I'll be subscribing to whatever service I have to in order to watch this live.

Btw, McGregor by decision for 12.00 isnt such an unreal outcome. If UFC still see him as milking cow, Conor survive for 15 minutes and shows a close rounds, he might actually win it.

In any case, yes! We will witness a new type of Conor where he has become a wrestler and he will use this with all of stamina and win with a split decision against this dried fish body Max Holloway!

Indeed my opinion has change a bit about Conor. Like I have said later, I havent seen his form or any training to clearly say he will 100% lose. I still think he will lose (but that isnt that obvious like I used to think). But I give some chances that UFC will try to cheat if fight goes to judges, and make Conor win by decision, even though he was losing the fight. Something like see 1 episodes of Conor winning, but be blind when in 100 episodes Max dominated him It is not Conor that is going to win, but UFC that are going to make him win.

On the conspiracy theory that uncle Dana is manipulating these fights, I understand the speculation hehehe. However, similar to what we have witnessed from the fights before similar to mr. Highlight Gaethje vs the big headed Topuria and the potato head Chimaev vs Sean Strickland, these fights might be more difficult to manipulate than what we speculate.

If uncle Dana can manipulate these fights, we can be quite certain that all the superfights in the UFC that the fans want will become a reality heheheh.

Have you noticed how many unexpected matches there were in first half of the year and how many underdogs won fights where they suppose to be mauled? Or huge stars felt down? Gaethje screwed things twice by finishing Paddy and Topuria. Strickland beat unbeatable Chimaev. Adesanya loss. Pereira lost too quickly. Prochazka lost winning fight to injured Ulberg. Borjas defeated Lima while being +5.00 underdog. I feel like this year might be year of upsets and we will see Max being robbed this weekend

I also feel like he has matured a little lately but 5 years of abstinence from fighting doesn't look good for me. The only advantage he will have right now will be his past PED use because they permanently make you slightly better than those who have never used it but will that be enough to beat Max Holloway, who has been in the game since the moment he started it and haven't taken a break? Honestly, I don't think that McGregor will beat him but everything is possible. Will he knock him out? The only person who knocked Max was Ilia Topuria. If Conor does the same, that will be unbelievable good.

It's also funny how he wants to be titled as the greatest Featherweight of all time but makes fun of Charles Oliveira and Max Holloway for fighting in lightweight and calls them that was the fight for the Baddest MF in Souna.

Topuria has too heavy punches for featherweight, but maybe not enough for lightweight. Maybe that is why he was able to knockout Max. We can speculate how fight would go if Max and Topuria would fight as lightweights. This weekend Max is fighting as welterweight. What can that possibly mean? Slower boxing and reflexes for Max. And more chances for a lucky punch for bot Max and Conor

Just judging from his body language and his talking style alone, it's almost like he's a different person as compared to his younger self, when he was climbing up the ladder.
This is not necessarily an indication of anything being wrong with him, but he's definitely in a completely different mental place and will probably have to approach the fight differently than he used to, as he can no longer rely on hunger and aggression.
I'm really curious about how the fight will go, but it's hard to imagine he will have his hand raised.

I saw another interview with John Kavanagh, Conor McGregor's coach. He said they were willing to fight Carlos Prates at welterweight for Conor's return fight, even though they knew it was a really difficult matchup. Finally, the UFC offered Max Holloway, and it looks like they are truly prepared for the fight.

They can book favorable fights but there won't be any fixes. There is a commission overlooking the event. In Japan, there were fixed fights because the Yakuza controlled everything. That is not the case with the UFC.

After watching all the interviews and the pre-fight takes from other fighters, it is really interesting to see how Conor McGregor will return after a long gap like this. The hype is getting bigger as the fight approaches.

Holloway is talking about how Conor is going to get tired and then beat up where everyone else is talking about how much bigger Conor looks. I think everyone has the right idea of what will happen. McGregor knocks him out early or loses a decision.

That's a big bet and I hope you win, but there's a reason Max is the favourite.
At his age and after such a long break, there's no way his cardio did not suffer. Shooting for takedowns is much more energy draining than keeping the fight standing. Not to mention that takedown is one thing and actually doing something on the ground is another.
And if we look at career stats, Conor's takedown accuracy stands at 55% an he would attempt a takedown only 0.67 times per 15 minutes. Holloway's takedown defence is 81%. So if all hopes for McGregor lies in the takedowns, things are not looking very bright for him.

If Conor wins it, it will most likely be his counters or some creative, innovative strikes.

Yes, agreed, however this does not imply that uncle Dana has a god hand that can manipulate the fights in the UFC. These unexpected outcomes that you have mentioned were in reality bad for the UFC because they have stopped the fighters who have lost to have bigger roadmaps for more bigger fights.

If Paddy won, he would be challenging the big headed Topuria. If Khamzat won, he would be fighting for the vacant light heavyweight championship. If Poatan Chama have won, he would challenge the moon face Aspinall. If the big headed Topuria have won, he would fight the next challenger Arman. These are bigger fights!

Half a million on a fighter who we know by his 10 years old highlights, who has been into troubles last years and had dissolute lifestyle - that is a very-very risky bet. If there were more highlights of his training and physical form, I could understand such a bet. Despite maybe ~10 guys here, nobody believe in McGregors victory.

The face off from the pre fight press conference..?  I'm gonna watch that one right now after this post but I'm feeling like all the McGregor aura and vibe is gone now.  We all already know it's just a bit for publicity's sake and to sell the fight...  It worked before but I don't think it's working now imho.  People are laughing at it now.

I think McGregor's bit ended with the one he did in build up in the match up with Khabib...  He took it one notch higher and anything he does now isn't so compelling anymore.

This fight didn't have much promo at all but somehow the name McGregor always find a way go in in prime spot and steal the show and I think the face off showed us that. I also saw the POW from Holloway glasses and I must say McGregor seems ready for this fight and yes, they sold me on watching this fight too.

Also , it was the first time for me when I noticed Holloway having a 9Tails Kurama tattoo ...so I guess someone watched Naruto

Did you see Max's POV from behind the glasses? It was incredible! Connor, as always, knows how to sell the fights he's in. It's impressive how well he does it. Honestly, after that face-off, I wanted the fight to be balanced. I can already imagine Max calling him to the center of the octagon and the two exchanging punches until one of them passes out, just to make the fight even more exciting.
