Someone who placed that $900k bet on polymarket right before the fight probably saw this after the walkout and said to themselves he is fighting injured.
After taking off his shoes you can see him having some kind of difficulty balancing on one leg. Then he started hopping showing something was definitely off.
What was that with his shoes during the ceremonial weigh-in where he had to remove them and then made everybody wait while he put them back on to tie them up? This was kind of weird where he could of had some kind of issues with flexibility of his ankle or feet.

What are your though on other fights? For example Paddy vs BSD ? Saint Denis used to be considered as a very dangerous striker, but two days ago tapped in less than a minute. He has brown and belt belts in judo and bjj, but Paddy has finished him so easily, as if they are from different skills completely, even though they were close in rating.

While main event was a total crap event generated $26,430,566 in ticket receipts, which broke the record for the biggest gate in UFC history surpassing UFC 306 in September 2024 (which previously held the record with a gate of $21,829,245). Purchased subscription amount probably is even bigger.

If any betting company wants to increase its customer base, it needs a lot of news coverage and free marketing that can last for decades. It would be the perfect time to refund everyone's money, both those who lost and those who won. But I think it's very unlikely that this will happen.

He took $30 million for doing nothing and I am sure he was injured even before fight started, this was clear before entering octagon.
But I am amazed how so many people placed a bet on this fake guy, and I am not sorry for them losing their money.
Lesson learned, and this should finally be the end of MMA carrier for Conor.

I heard about a couple gambling houses that refunded players. Supposedly something like 90% of the bets were on McGregor so they’re aren’t even taking massive losses by doing so. Hardly anyone won on Max.

There's a lot of frustration for McGregor after his injury, but those things just happen. We've seen it before plenty of times and we will see them again.
The circulating theories about him getting injured prior to the fight don't hold water. There's locker room footage of him drilling kicks just before the fight, he was showing no signs of liming during the walkout and and it's fair to assume he wouldn't be attempting a flying kick involving him landing on his right leg if his knee was compromised.

But of course, it's harder to be understanding for those who spent big money to watch his return live, or those who paid to see it at home and stayed late just for that.

The biggest winner of the event is definitely Paddy Pimblett. An incredible win over BSD, plus he captured the crowd and looked super-confident and relaxed. He saved the show, moved up by 4 places in the Meta ranking and who knows, maybe he earned himself a rematch against Gaethje, or maybe a fight against Topuria.
I'm not sure what BSD was thinking when he decided to shoot for a takedown that early, instead of searching his luck in striking exchanges, where he could have an advantage.

He had broken his leg before, and he was fighting his first match, how can you start a fight with a flying kick? After the flying kick, he couldn't even get up whatever happened, happened there. And he was saying, "I have a platinum plate in my leg now, nothing will happen." I feel sorry for the people who went to T-Mobile Arena, the people who spent money on tickets it was a complete disappointment. If it had been someone other than Max, they would have TKO'd him. Dustin Poirier said that his body looked muscular, but his face didn't look healthy at all during the game. He was rightly wondering how he could do that to himself.

I doubt any site issues refunds. They paid out those who bet on Max and and wouldn't ask for them to pay back the bet. Those of us who made a bet on Conor just get fucked in the ass because the UFC wanted to save face and let the fight happen if they knew he was injured.

Very disappointing if they knew he was injured and let him make a go of it anyways.

I also put a bet on this fight that it will last at least 2.5 rounds on Jackpotter, but I don't also think that they themselves will refund all bets. I mean what will be those who won the bet will say. They won fair and square and nobody knows that this would happen. They risked their money and won, so I don't think there's a need for refunds here.

Sh*t happens on whatever sport it is, and this time, it's Conor who got injured. Whether it's a torn ACL or a knee injury, the fact of the matter is that, Conor's career in UFC might be over after what happened with him. It's very disappointing, but those who put bets for Conor are more disappointed, and for sure there are some who might've put millions of buckos on him just to end up like that. I mean it would be understandable if that lasted more than 1-2 rounds, and got knocked out, but not like that.

There will be no refunds whatsoever, and over the course of a few days, people will just forget about this, and will move on.

Where did you get information about 30 millions?  I saw media posting about 15. 30 imho looks too much to pay even for Conor. Wasnt UFC offering Bones 15 for a fight against Alex Pereira at UFC White House, and previously 10 for return against Aspinall. Dana has been always saying how Bones is valuable for UFC and how big star he is. Cant be that they offered McGregor more than Bones who White kiss in the ass and praise all the time.

I'm not familiar about this contract, but if what you are saying is true then McGregor might go with a 3rd fight with Max. For sure for this two fighters, they will want to make it again. But the question, is the fans are still going to be interested on that fight?

Because from what I have seen here in our community, we have lost so much interest on Conor himself. Nevertheless, Dana will have to make it as he knows that Conor might still have that drawing power.

I understand that he deserves a good portion of that money, given his history, fame, and titles. However, it makes absolutely no sense for him to take all of it after such a terrible performance. The UFC should start including contract clauses about this type of situation. And what I've been observing is that something like this rarely happens on preliminary cards; it's always on the main card.

Honestly, I was asleep when there was a fight between Conor and Holloway but that person who placed a bet of $900K did an amazing job, the easiest and smartest $900K you can multiply via sports betting. I would do the same if I saw that happening.
Honestly, this fight should be nullified. Not only every sports bet should be cancelled to my mind, money should be returned to everyone who paid for the ticket because this was not a fight, it was a joke. People paid for the main event and main event should have been a fight, not a clown masquerade.

Even though I'm honestly really sorry for the Conor, it was a shame what happened in the octagon. I think that no one will take any of his fight seriously ever again and he shouldn't fight for the 3rd time. I also think that Dana White won't allow that to happen too.

It's entirely related to steroids. When steroids leave the body, the tendons become much weaker, and the risk of injury increases significantly.
Considering he was out of form and untrained, and thinking I'm still the old McGregor at the start of the fight, it caused him to lose within seconds. He'll retire now. He got injured in his last two fights, and a comeback is impossible the UFC can't sell him another fight, even if he wanted to return.

Du Plessis vs. Usman fight also looks interesting. Both are former title holders.

It seems like he came in much more serious this time and had his way with his opponent. He didn’t seem to take his fight seriously before that where he lost, so hopefully we see a more serious Paddy going forward.

Yup, as I said before, Paddy is the biggest winner of the entire event. He saved the show by giving a great performance and cushioned the disappointment that came from the main fight.
He was surprisingly relaxed and confident before the fight (and obviously after). His hype has plummeted a bit after that loss to Gaethje, but he was somewhat redeemed after Justin demolished Ilia much more than Paddy.

As for Conor, he confirmed on his social media that he will have to undergo surgery on that knee, but he intends to return to the UFC to fight the last fight that he has left on his contract:

Some might doubt whether Conor will be back at all. I think he will return. If so, it will most likely be the trilogy against Max, as any other fight does not make much sense. Although everything depends on how long it will take Conor to fully recover.
