This upcoming UFC event looks promising, and I am sure we are going to have much better main event that previous one.
I dont see any other outcome than win for Dricus Du Plessis, but this could be one of the last chances for Usman comeback.

Where did you get information about 30 millions?  I saw media posting about 15.

I read it online that Conor got 30 milions and Max got only 3 million for this fight, I dont remember exact source, but he is not worth the money in any case.
He was once a good fighter once, but now he turned into shadow and an old man.

With all the disappointment that was the McGregor fight (I know everyone should have seen it coming), it feels like the awesome performance by Paddy the Baddy went overlooked a bit. It seems like he came in much more serious this time and had his way with his opponent. He didn’t seem to take his fight seriously before that where he lost, so hopefully we see a more serious Paddy going forward.

I did not predict this occurrence on Conor. I have speculated that we will witness the Conor Gregor return of the king! However, what he has given us is a man who only wants liquid cash to deposit in his bank account, Conor ScamGregor heheheeh!

On Paddy the baddy, I very much wish his next fight will be against the big headed Topuria! This will certainly give Paddy more confidence because the big headed Topuria's passion in his heart might presently be weak.

It's entirely related to steroids. When steroids leave the body, the tendons become much weaker, and the risk of injury increases significantly.
Considering he was out of form and untrained, and thinking I'm still the old McGregor at the start of the fight, it caused him to lose within seconds. He'll retire now. He got injured in his last two fights, and a comeback is impossible the UFC can't sell him another fight, even if he wanted to return.

Du Plessis vs. Usman fight also looks interesting. Both are former title holders.

Since we are talking about Conor, I assume you mean anabolic steroids and not corticosteroids because we know that Conor has used PEDs for his recovery. By the way, when steroids leave the body, tendonds don't become much weaker, it doesn't work that way. Steroids also don't make tendons stronger, actually, it's the opposite. Steroids increase muscle strength faster than tendons adapt, so their usage actually weakens tendons.

DDP VS Usman looks interesting too but honestly, I would love him to fight for the title. I would happily see DDP VS Strickland again for the 3rd time.

Yeah...  There are multiple English Premier League threads too.  If you guys want to talk and discuss about the EPL from a betting perspective or just purely for sharing info, JollyGood's thread is the place.

There are also lots of random threads with mundane topics made just to pad their gambling section posts.  I think the mods should merge all those threads into one thread entitled 'Low Quality Gambling Section Thread'.

I watched a few of those Youtube videos that try to figure out whether he was injured beforehand or not. What I found more interesting is, in one video the guy discussed his mimics when he already entered the cage and was mentally preparing for the beginning of the fight. I am not a friend of conspiracy theories and there are the discussions about his weakened knew when he put his shoes off. I don't know, in the video a surgeon or doctor gave his comment and said that it can't be said with certainty whether in that particular moment his knee looked weak and with that being said, all of us have slightly tumbled when putting your shoes off or on standing.

But the interesting part I was talking about, the mimics in that period pre-fight, they compared it to the "old" Connor and there was clearly a difference. This time he looked concerned, he looked as if something is wrong. He usually looks like a beast that can't wait to get started, but not at all this time. They gave insight from all angles and his face was depressed. That's a detail I think deserves some attention, but even then you could argue that a man at his age with a break of five years and the drama he went throguh with his injuries, maybe he was just concerned.

What made my jaw drop were the ticket prices. It was said I think that the prices were between $1,600 and $180,000. If you go there and I am sure there have been some hardcore fans plundering part of their savings, and it ends like that, it must feel awful to say the least.

People will care. I agree it doesn't look good when his last fight was lost due to a broken leg, then his return against Chandler fell through due to a broken pinky toe and now this, but I think it's a genuine injury and he was just extremely unlucky.
There's no way he got injured before the fight, as there's behind-the-scenes footage of him drilling kicks just before the fight, plus he shows no limping when he walked into the octagon. And I don't think he could just fake the whole thing, as I imagine the UFC must have a way to verify that.

I disagree. I saw obvious signs of knee problems before the kick that supposedly injured him. I commented on it to my buddies live when I saw him wobble taking off his shoes. I’ve done that exact same ginger step due to a torn ACL many times. Not to mention he was sweating heavily and very obviously showed signs of being on painkillers.

He’ll be back to collect another $30 million. I’ll be excited to see it again I’m sure because I like this sort of thing. Deep down though, we all know he will never win another fight and he’s disgracing the sport.

He was training and indeed he was training that jump kick as well. Some say fight was staged and he did not wanted to fight so he risked with kicked and got injured. Some speculate that he already had injury before the fight. Nevertheless I think we have witnessed what happens when you skip years of training, then have a little preparation and try to perform as if you are in peak form. Professional athletes retire earlier than regular people. Saying in other words, we saw what happens when grandpa try to do a backflip - he fails due to being clumsy at such an age

Looks like you are talking about sarcastic cartoons. Mojahed Fudailat is my favorite MMA cartoonist, he has been doing this since 2016 and has a great sense of humor. Conor did not return because he has a shortage of money, but his legs could not hold up even for a second. These accidents can happen when you get to a certain age and hopefully, he will retire for good.

I think it's wrong to compare him to years ago. Time has passed and he's a different person now. But the whole speech, about him going to church, the way the fight ended, how much money he made for that performance. It's surreal, and you can't rule out that he was already like that. To me, it was planned.

Is he right? Was Holloway's behaviour in the Octagon, after the fight was stopped, out of place?
When I first heard it, I didn't think much of it but a thought crossed my mind that the "Let's get this fucking money" was a super odd thing to say in a situation where all of the fans watching (either at home or at the arena) must've felt robbed of the show they expected to see.
He could've been more classy, that's for sure, but maybe we can cut him some slack, as he must've been under a lot of emotions from the release of adrenaline and the joy of winning the fight (not in the best way, but still).

I havent thought about the picks yet, but where is the spirit of picking underdogs gone? Some ideas to think about. Usman goes with 3.00 and is an underdog. People think that it is done with him long ago, but: 1) he took a good if not close fight with Chimaev who wasnt-Chimaev-we-saw-against-Strickland. A better version of Chimaev, and in late rounds Usman started to took lead 2) Usman beat Buckley, who many though would rip Usmans head, who was on a series of 6 wins and many considered as the one who could took belt soon. Maybe Usman aint that bad and old after all? Maybe it could be worth betting on DDP by decision, split decision if you give Usman low chances? I dont see DDP finishing Usman.

I'm feeling this way, I think the fight I'm most looking forward to is Ian Machado Garry vs. Islam Makhachev. That one will really shake things up, because I see a great chance of Islam finally being defeated. And that will make things different because it will significantly affect the rankings.
