Nah, Jan didn't reject Ankalaev's fight. He initially proposed to do it in a catchweight but Ankalaev refused. Blachowicz's team then went back and agreed to get it done in the light heavyweight but it was too late as Guskov had already accepted it. That's according to Jan at least, who explained it on X.

And Jan didn't get left overboard. He's going to fight Navajo Stirling, a young, undefeated prospect (10-0), on 1 August, which is the date the fight against Guskov was originally scheduled.

It’s a good thing that he’s not sitting out though. I believe his fight with Navajo is gonna be a solid scrap for August 1.

Think of it like this, a young undefeated prospect with city kickboxing backing vs a former veteran champ. Should be fun right ?

This could be turning point in Ankalaev carrier if he loses upcoming fight against Guskov.
I cant believe how low odds bookies are giving me, and I see huge value in placing something on Guskov.
Guskov didnt lose MMA fight for years and his last defeat was from Ozdemir in 2023.
Maybe I am insane but I can see this fight going to distance.

I guess I have to watch some highlights or last fights Guskov had, because I dont know and dont see why you guys give him such high chances of winning against Ankalaev. Ankalaev has bigger skulls in his record. Stumbled once against Pereira (its 1-1 among them, dont forget that), and people start talking about his career decline and retirement.

Anyway, I would pay more attention to Magomed Zaynukov fight. He is guy from Nurmagomedov/Makhachev team and trained under Khabibs father mentorship. He is the guy who accidentally got John Pork nickname

Guyz just check the odds on Polymarket. It's insane like this many people trust Ankalaev to win that fight. I personally don't like Ankalaev because he is the only Russian fighter who gives up very quickly. Like in his last fight with Alex Pereira it was very disappointing. I know he won the first match but he should not give up in the second match so early. But let's see how he will come back.
