I’m honestly surprised Conor is still able to attract fans.

Could Conor be the asshole of this sport?
If he’d been a little luckier and pulled off a major surprise against Holloway, I’m sure we’d be hearing talk of a belt match for him...
We really do come to appreciate the importance of decentralization even more in situations like this. In centralized organizations, concepts like fair, objective evaluation, and impartiality are always replaced by major doubts...

At this point I don’t think it is so much about Conor being able to attract fans but about the UFC trying to do their best to make the best of a bad contract situation. They have to pay Conor $30 million to headline an event, so they have to promote it and try to put on a good money making show. The fans are ultimately the ones who pay the price.

UFC knows that Conor fight could still generate big revenue and its natural for business, since they always take advantage on matters that can help them earn more revenue. Also as long as many people still watch his matches either exhibition or not, he would provably get more fights. People want to get entertain and for sure this is what they are seeking in this fight, then those people watching him don't care about other matters.

UFC long ago has gone far from being sport only to more entertaining. They are no longer a place to find out which fighting style is better and who is better. In the past fighters were more unique and had unique backgrounds. Fighters went fighting because of being poor, wanted to prove something and etc. Now it is more like a fighting factory. Fighters are people who work for media and generate hype, and in between they train and fight. In the past. Dude got hit by track. Was in coma. Half of his inside body was smashed. Doctors told he would never be able to move again. He became not only bjj black belt and multiple champion, but had mma Pride belt, series of wins. Fight 2-3 times per night. Was ready to fight anyone. Now. Dude plays Fortnite. Enjoys life. Trains when he has time. Chooses opponents he wants to fight instead of be ready to jump in against anyone. However, he has millions of followers in social media and that makes him demanded to watch... If Conor gets into more troubles, or gets in jail, and fights in 10 years only, he will still be one of he biggest stars, maybe even bigger than now. Bitter reality.

This upcoming UFC main card looks amazing, and I am expecting to see a lot of KO and TKO endings. I watched several fights of Medic and I think he is a great fighter, and I think this time he is going to have supporters on his side. Sometimes this can be a good thing if fighter is mentally strong, but they can also feel the pressure to perform at their best.
I wouldn't call it 'amazing' by any chance but hopefully it does give entertaining match ups. But yeah, here are the picks for the degen parlay... Rodriguez Stirling Rakic Valentin Cepo Janicic Musayev Oliveira Nikolic Grad Rebecki Milosevic Leka Luciano Line on the for this set of picks is 626.45. 10 bucks win 6264.50. It's a long shot as usual but some select people itt will get some money in case the parlay wins. Here's a couple of replays of the guys in the main event... In the end, the average viewer likes to see these provocations because they want a show every week, and Connor delivers everything the audience likes.

A former UFC fighter, Anthony Smith, has been arrested in Nebraska on 3 felony charges: terroristic threats, false imprisonment and first degree domestic violence assault. He was released on $500k bond. It's another case of mma fighter not coping very well with retirement. He had some analyst/commentary gigs going on, but I think this is now over. It's not clear what he has done and whether he's guilty or not, but those charges sound pretty serious, not like something that can be easily shrugged off.

Now McGregor is trying to say that the reason he injured himself was because the ring floor was wet from the dry ice smoke show that went down as he was entering the cage. I think this is a cop out way too late to be believed, but that isn't going to stop him from adding it to his list of excuses. Anything to avoid saying the truth... He was injured long before that fight started and hid it for a paycheck. Every one of his fans should be pissed.

I am not a huge fan of Conor McGregor, but he actually changed the sport completely. He might not be a model athlete, but he was instrumental in the UFC gaining the level of fans they have right now. You cannot be a two-division world champion without fighting skills, and he did not defeat bums to reach those levels either. ~ In the past.
Looks like you are talking about Minotauro Nogueira. He was a legend in PRIDE; he only lost to Fedor Emelianenko, if I remember correctly, and in those days everyone fought multiple matches in every event and everyone was mentally and physically tough. ~

It is really unfortunate and sad to see another former fighter getting into trouble. I was following his social media channels, and his take on the events and fight predictions.

I have read that he tried to run over his wife with his truck, tried that multiple times and before that hit her several times. All that to make her "refuse to leave him". Method he has chosen to make his woman stay isnt most persuasive Punch or kick your wife to make her not leave. How he suppose to thought that would work? Btw, that is not the first case when wives leave fighters who have retired. That is something to think about. While you are bringing money home and risking your health, she is with you. As soon as you become jobless or start to earn way less than previously, she quits.

I think we need to discuss and argue about the different match ups at every event for us to get better in picking winners... There's no better way in getting good at something than practice. It's a shame that this happened. That's why I always say that fighters need to have more business ventures than just relying on themselves or even traditional investments, so that when they retire they don't depend on a salary. That's why this type of situation still occurs. Let this serve as an example for those who come after.

That's why this type of situation still occurs. Let this serve as an example for those who come after. The stories are going to get worse over time for UFC fighters. The fact that the UFC has made so much money on the backs of people who make basically nothing after training costs is crazy. The UFC needs to start giving ownership stakes to fighters or a good pension plan or something…

He has already started promoting a potential fight as his last dance... I think it is a shame that he is going to be able to make so much money on a farce that he can still fight. Especially after his last fight. He earned his contract though when he was putting on incredible shows, so it isn't like he can just leave 8 figures sitting on the table for a night of work. Unfortunately we will all fall for it again on the hope that we can get a flash of what once was.
I do not have any hope anymore but if I'm completely honest, I'll admit that I might still watch his fight even at night. I actually question whether this man really trained for the fight or not because the way he got trauma before even entering the octagon, looks too stupid. He left an impression like he hasn't trained a single day and he immediately decided to fight, so his body wasn't warmed up and he immediately got a trauma, like people in their 40s get when their bodies were never physically trained and for some strange reasons, they tried to make some tricks. I'm afraid his last dance will be pitifully shameful.

A former UFC fighter, Anthony Smith, has been arrested in Nebraska on 3 felony charges: terroristic threats, false imprisonment and first degree domestic violence assault. He was released on $500k bond.
I dont believe this terroristic threats charges against him, but he allegedly tried to run over his wife with his vehicle It would be best to see actual recordings video from this incident, or it is only her words against his. I am not choosing sides here but I dont see him as lunatic who would kill someone like this.

I don’t know… I read an interview with one of the neighbors that said they heard quite a bit of fighting and also gunshots. There’s a chance this could get worse before it gets better. If the victim didn’t mention the gunshots to the police though then maybe they are just trying to get passed this with the least amount of trouble.

It's another case of mma fighter not coping very well with retirement. He had some analyst/commentary gigs going on, but I think this is now over. It's not clear what he has done and whether he's guilty or not, but those charges sound pretty serious, not like something that can be easily shrugged off.
It's a shame that this happened. That's why I always say that fighters need to have more business ventures than just relying on themselves or even traditional investments, so that when they retire they don't depend on a salary. That's why this type of situation still occurs. Let this serve as an example for those who come after. The stories are going to get worse over time for UFC fighters. The fact that the UFC has made so much money on the backs of people who make basically nothing after training costs is crazy. The UFC needs to start giving ownership stakes to fighters or a good pension plan or something… The UFC probably cannot afford to give partial stakes in ownership to fighters as eventually the fighters would own too big a share. They would have to give micro shares IMO. Fighters would own like .1% in the company or something. Long term it would add up, but would basically be like a small royalty payment annually. The fighters would be better off leaving the UFC and joining a company that offers better benefits and pay. Dana White is making money hand over fist and screwing the fighters out of a lot of money as he knows they can't get better money elsewhere currently.
