Yeah I got Dvalishvilli on that one too.  I think Yan's win was more because Dvalishvilli is off his game rather than Yan improving by a ton since they last fought. 

Dvalishvilli at the top of his game would def take Yan down and control him for most of the rounds.  But then again...  We'll see.  I def could be wrong which makes the trilogy very exciting. 

If I remember it right, it was fourth Merabs fight that year when he has lost his title. Dominated Umar Nurmagomedov, second fight with O'Malley. I dont remember third opponent. Wasnt O'Malley again? because I remember indignant why they are fighting for second time and so little time has passed since last fight, while there were others standing in line for a title shot. Not an easy year, yet still he accepted fight against Yan. As usually, Merab came to fight with injuries.

I dont remember Merab fighting this year. So maybe this time he will come fully rested and with all injuries healed. For me this is enough to bet on an such an underdog as Merab

^  And with his high pace and lots of wrestling, his body prolly suffered some kind of fatigue.  And not to mention the grueling training camp with his wrestling heavy fighting style...

So yeah, we'll prolly see a rejuvinated fighter in Dvalishvilli when the trilogy happens.  And at those odds you mentioned, I think it's nice value imho.

I think that was a great fight from Yan and he was remarkably better than the first fight when he was struggling with a slightly injured arm. His conditioning was improved allowing him compete to the latter rounds with Merab who usually steps up when the fight goes on. He also resisted the take down and did not accept the position the few times he was dropped.

With the odds picking Merab is very tempting. He is the better fighter overall for me.

Someone who steps into the octagon with that much motivation never loses a fight. I think Joaquin Buckley is going into the octagon to secure an absolute victory. I’m also really curious to see what he’ll do after the fight. The statements he makes while his heart rate is still over a hundred with high adrenaline could create even bigger sensations...

The third one wasn't O'Malley, it was Cory Sandhagen. Merab beat O'Malley to get the title and after that, he had another fight against him to protect the belt. Then was Umar, then was Sandhagen and then Petr Yan. It was stupid to fight Petr Yan as his 4th fight because Petr is a really very good fighter. Their 3rd match will be very interesting to see and honestly, I'm a little confused about who is going to win because Petr is really an amazing fighter but Merab has the heart of a warrior and I feel like he would significantly improve his skills because we saw that Merab significantly progressed in 2025, he improved his boxing and skills in general. This year, he had a lot of time to improve them further.
Anyways, if I had to place a bet, I would place Merab because that's what my heart tells me to do but I'm sure it will be a very close fight.

Mike Malott finished the fight with an incredible knee strike, I’ve never seen a knee thrown from that angle before. He delivered it like a kick usually, a knee is thrown in an upward motion, but Malott did the completely unexpected, throwing it like a kick and putting Buckley to sleep. Buckley was acting quite strangely I’m not really sure why and he didn’t even touch gloves at the start of the fight. He had that kind of attitude leading up to the bout, so it’s actually a good thing he ended up losing the way he did.

It looked like he was trying to land a high kick. It wasn’t even a very good high kick, actually. But Buckley’s mistake in timing and positioning ended this fight.

Sean has verbally lashed out at Dana and the UFC in recent weeks. Buckley’s reaction toward Dana was much more than that. Some say Buckley directed this reaction at everyone, but in my opinion, if you’re reacting to the king, the others don’t even matter. Buckley reacted to the king. That’s why I really wanted him to win this fight and become a legend, but everything went to hell.

Anyway, UFC 333 is coming up, but I’m not going to make any predictions because none of them ever come true anyway... :)

I dont envy Buckley now. 3 lost fights is a row among one which was old Kamaru Usman who nobody gave a chance. He did not shake Dana hand. Also told that he was offended for not having title fight while other with less wins and lower in top opponents got it. And he has lost by KO I start to feel like he might get his ass kicked from ufc

Btw, only one decision and the rest were finishes. Tied record with most finishes (11) with Medic vs Rodrigez. Dana and Paramount must be happy.

The main event and the co main event are really good match ups...  They're the creme de la creme of their respective weight classes.  As for the rest of the event, not really too excited.  But who knows, it could turn out like a sleeper like UFC Edmonton.

These underrated cards are the UFC's version of "never skip low quality videos". They always deliver crackers. It was in one of those fight I discovered an upcoming gem Bilal Hassan. If you haven't seen his fights try to check them.

The main is coming up this week. I can't wait to see Merab in action again.

I m so exited for this UFC event.In volkanovski vs Movsar,My money will be on Movsar and i think movsar will win by decision there will be no knockout in this fight maybe a submssion but  by decision have most chances.And in Yan vs merab ,my money is on Yan.I think Yan will win by submission.On these two i have place my money and i m fully sure that these two will win there fight and the rest of fighters i don't know them.

It was a bit of an embarrassment for Joaquin Buckley. I don't know what his pre-fight stunt was about, i.e. staying silent during an interview and shaking Dana's hand during the face-off, but you can only pull that off when you win. He got badly KO'd by Mike Mallot in the 2nd round, with a vicious knee to the face, followed up by a punch. If he acted normally and respectfully pre-fight, it would be just a loss, but now it makes him looks extra silly.
This was his first KO loss in his career and 3rd loss in a row. Buckley looked invincible after KOing Stephen Thompson and then following up with a TKO win over Colby, but things went south after that. He was desperate for a win but got served the most brutal loss of his career.

Yan hasn't finished anyone in 6 years and he only had one submission win and that was in 2015. Merab only lost by submission once in his career, that was in 2018. So Yan winning by submission is the least probable outcome. But it should be a good, technical fight. We will most likely see one of them winning by decision, but I still expect a good show.

UFC 333, Volkov again fighting someone instead of having a title fight... Guy is on a series of wins and to get closer to title fight he has started fighting guys who are further from the top. Weirdo logic. Next time he what, will fight with unranked guy to earn a title shot?

Main event, Volk vs Evloev. I only hope that we wont see control for 25 min. Hope that Evloev really deserve that chance. He has been so much complaining that he is not give a title fight. Now when he is given, hope he wont screw it and shit his pants.

Merab vs Yan. I will root for an underdog. If Merab gets belt back, he will continue filming crazy stuff for instagram

Bilal Hassan was featured in Dana White's Contender Series and had a really outing that the UFC brass allowed him to fight at the very next UFC event when Hassan requested for it.    He pretty good but still needs more experience imho.  And getting that first loss is always good for young and promising fighters.  It's he they truly learn and get better.

As for the Yan vs. Merab fight, I think Merab will win. In their previous encounter, Merab put in a bad performance because he was dealing with a tight fight schedule. I think he’ll show his real performance in this match.

Of course, this has been a strange year where all predictions have failed. That’s why I don’t view any of what I’ve said as a certainty... :)

This will be an interesting fight.  I believe the winner will be fighting Suga Sean...  I'm always shocked when Yan wins a fight, he looks like such a little guy to me.  Clearly he is skilled, but I'm sort of leaning towards Merab winning this one as well.  Not that I think he is the more skilled fighter, but I think he's a tougher guy.  At least that's my take as a casual UFC fan.  Who do I want to win?  I'm not really sure I care.  I'd have to see who Suga Sean wants to fight next.

I have no doubt that Volk, in his prime, would dismantle Evloev, but at 38, his form is a big question mark. Evloev's 20-0 record is impressive, but he didn't fight as many top guys as Volk has and Volk only ever lost to Islam (a much bigger guy) and to Ilia.
Volk has rebuilt his confidence by winning against Lopes twice after his KO defeat to Topuria, and he's a slight favourite. I think Volk winning by decision is the most likely outcome.

Petr Yan Vs Merab - it's a 50/50 fight to me. Merab seems to have lost his momentum, but their last fight was close. Yan dominated as he was tactically better prepared. But you don't enter the same river twice. Merab will do his homework, so Yan would have to come up with a different strategy.

(...)  Who do I want to win?  I'm not really sure I care.  I'd have to see who Suga Sean wants to fight next.

You want Yan then. Suga lost to Merab twice and it was clear that he had no strategy to counter Merab's style. He defeated Yan by controversial decision once, so a rematch would be interesting to see. I think both Yan and O'Malley would prefer to fight each other rather than anyone else.
