Anyway, the event is gonna start soon!  I'm not really excited about most of the match ups before the main and the co main events, so I'll just watch football then switch to the UFC after Chelsea vs Tottenham match.

The HIP 4 deployers at Hyperliquid didn't list any UFC matches this weekend so the only bets that I have for the event are the degen parlays at Stake made by my little helpers.

Where was Merab's cardio? I've never seen such a gassed out Dvalishvili and I've also never seen Merab's opponent showing a better cardio than him. As I said above, my heart tells me Merab wins but my brain tells me that Yan wins and Yan won in the end, it was 2-2 and Merab failed in 5th round because he was too exhausted and Yan performed better. Merab was very good in first two rounds but Yan showed a different show to Merab from 3rd round. But if you want my honest opinion, this was a very boring fight, both of them were fighting like they weren't belonging to the octagon and MMA in general. I personally disliked the performance, it was very boring and unprofessional. Immediately after this match I watched Topuria VS Gaethje and there is such a huge different, like a day and night. Topuria VS Gaethje was the real fight and this one, Dvalishvili VS Yan, was nothing, unskilled, boring fight.

Volk and Evloev was a good fight, really worth to watch it and as expected, Volk showed him that there are levels and TKOed him.

Both favourites of the main and co-main events won their fights. I expected at least one of them to end up with the underdog winning, but that's not what happened.
Yan winning by decision can't be a surprise. A KO/TKO was very unlikely. A close fight with round 5 being a deciding factor. In the post-fight interview Yan said they expected Merab to gas out at the end of the fight, which is odd, as he was somewhat famous for his cardio.

Volk winning by KO is a big sight of relief from Dana/the UFC. The last thing they would want is to have "boring" Evloev as the champion.
I'm not sure who could be next for Volk. There simply aren't that many worthy opponents. Maybe they could make Yan move up the weight class for a bigger-money fight? Probably not as the most obvious fight for Yan is Sean O'Malley, which is probably equally or more profitable than Yan Vs Volk.

It doesn’t come as a surprise to me though, the people i picked for win were the ones that won and i knew it was gonna be so cos all indications pointed towards that direction.
Although i didn’t expect Volk to finish Evloev in 2 rounds, i thought he would put up a tough fight and drag it into deeper rounds but that was clearly not the case.; It’s crazy how Volk went from doing side quests and actor duties during camp to beating a guy with 20:0 record in 2 rounds, that’s some G.O.A.T doings right there.

By the way, i got Volk and Yan for the win IDC😎

I must say that the whole Merab glaze made his loss hit even hard, how do you shoot for 58 takedowns within 25minutes and achieve only 5 ?, that’s outrageous😄

I didn't expect that kind of performance from Movsar, but as I said, he would take risks in his fight, and he did guys. He took a lot of damage. I thought he would make it. Volk did a great job though. I didn't expect that kind of performance from him. Congratulations to him and I will be waiting for Movsar's comeback, stronger than ever.And on merab vs yan fight my prediction was correct guys that yan will win.but i was also wrong on one thing that there will be a finish but the fight finish by decision.This UFC event was that good for me

He tried to fight his way. Attempted 13 takedown between round 1 and 2 and Yan defended all of them. When you are up against that you have to change your strategy. Overall he attempted 29 takedown only succeeding in just 2 of those and still did not gain any control time cause Yan scrambled back up very quickly.

Merab spammed even more  takedowns this time, I remember seeing an info in round 3 that he had reached the record for attempted takedowns in a fight and still did not get any ground control time.

It was a very good fight from Yan. He again just showed the level of his striking with jabs and kicks. His conditioning here even looked better than the last fight. Merab came in with so much energy for the first 2 rounds, which I think he won that it gassed him out for the later rounds when he usually comes alive.

This is exactly the reason Merab Dvalishvili gassed out in the third round. Merab was shooting from way outside and getting stuffed, which takes your energy away. Petr Yan fought the perfect fight. In the first two rounds, Merab completely dominated and won them, but the resurgence from Yan in the third round was something I did not expect either.

I saw clips of Aljamain Sterling and Song Yadong questioning the decision, and it is expected to hear these claims from teammates, but there are others who expressed their doubts regarding the decision.

Going for the takedown meant the distance was closed repeatedly not allowing Yan to build combinations. Merab and his corner were relying on his resilience.  I heard them telling him Yan was gassed after the first or second round but it happened to be the other way round.

I wonder where this loss puts him in the contenders list.

No matter that I have lost 2 out of 3 bets; champions kept their belts, I feel that event left a bad aftertaste for me.

Yan vs Merab. 48-47. Typical fight for Yan, losing first rounds then taking the rest. Typical Merab, spamming take downs, relying much on his stamina. Both guys did not show much of a new. Maybe Merab improved his striking a bit. A that was pretty it. Merab did not bring anything new, Petr was his usual, concentrated but losing beginning. Merab should have brought something new to get a win.

Volk vs Evloev. Typical Volk, but Evloev I thin failed with emotions as he has no experience in title fight of such high. Evloev was not Evloev. Was having such a long path to a title fight, and lost it so bad. Was it that hard to escape that moment at fence? When you are so good at ground game. I am much disappointed with Evloev. He wont be ever having a title fight again.

Yan’s takedown defense was incredible. He stopped almost all of Merab’s attempts. Honestly, I think someone with Petr Yan’s technical ability was exactly the kind of fighter who could stop a relentless guy like Merab, who never seems to slow down. Yan figured him out so comfortably. I also believe what Yan said about his arm injury in their first fight. I think we’ll see a rematch at some point in the future. For now, though, I’m curious to see if we’ll get a fight between Suga Sean and Petr Yan. They’re both elite strikers, and that would be a hell of a matchup.

Yan really looked like gassed out in the second round but I knew that it would change on 3rd round from the past experience. Merab will have a hard time for getting the next title shot. He will probably have to beat 3 opponents to get there.

I didn't see Merab's stamina in this fight and actually, Yan outperformed him in cardio. I don't know what happened to Merab but his stamina was terrible and skill-wise, he didn't show anything new.

Another amazing fight is coming of carlos vs morales on JAN 30.but guys Im confused about one thing why do UFC people make such long gaps between amazing fights like this one? This fight is in January, so we have to wait another three months..
Anyway guys who do you think will win this fight? I think Morales will win and then get a title fight against Islam great Makhachev. I know you guys will think that why i chose morales over carlos because carlos is a great fighter and also a great striker but sometime guys u have to look the descipline of a fighter and carlos descipline is zero and i don't put money on fighters who have zero descipline because guys at some level it matters and i think for fighter it matters alot guys.Just on this default i chose morales over him.And Morales is also a good fighter he is not that bad fighter.

I reckon that after the fight of the Russian Yan vs. Merab, I was very much disappointed when Yan has mentioned the name of the chinaman Song Yadong for his next opponent! Why is this the next opponent? This chinaman has last year lost against the Sugar Sean! Sometimes the UFC can be very headshaking when they choose who will be the next fighter to challenge for the championship.

However, after chinaman Song vs. the Russian Yan, we can be quite certain that the next challenger will be the Sugar Sean!

You know what is amazing even more? Islam Makhachev had to fight Carlos Prates in January. Islam withdrew for unknown reason and UFC replaced him with Michael Morales. But... Prates and Morales will fight for interim title. Any explanation for that? Some guys hold belt for years without fighting, but UFC try to scrap belt from Islam for not fighting for half a year... Twisted logic...

Banger!  I got Morales at first glance...  But you could never count out Prates.  Been fading him but looks like he proved to be a skilled fighter.  We'll see.  The fight is still a few months off.

From side next event looks like another boring filler for Paramount+ But lately I have noticed that those filler events, started to become more exciting to watch than numerical events, as number of finishes and performance are higher.

Btw third fight in main card looks funny Sisters fighting ? Despite main event, my eyes havent caught any surname to watch fight fully instead of watching review later... Despite main fight and chick fight, not a single fighter from top.

I know, bro, that fight would be amazing if it happened, but if you look at the situation carlos don't deserve to fight with Islam. I think Islam withdrawing from the fight with Carlos makes sense because Islam just beat Ian, who defeated Carlos very badly. That's why I think Islam was right to withdraw from the fight with Prates. And bro, it would be great to see a fight between the contenders. This way, we would see who truly deserves a title shot. A champion should fight the top fighter in his division, and contenders should prove themselves by beating the best before getting a chance to fight for the belt.

Yan proved once again that he’s one of the UFC’s best strikers. Especially his mid-kicks were amazing. Every time he hit Merab with a mid-kick, it caused pain on Merab’s face.

Movsar couldn’t keep Volkanovski on the ground, but he managed to end his control attempts by trying to inflict damage on him. However, he looked completely helpless against Volkanovski.

My predictions for the main event and co-main event didn’t come true, but since the event’s timing aligned with my local time, I watched the entire thing and I’m happy about that.

By the way, did Abdurrahman Yahyaev catch your attention? He managed to break into the top 15 by defeating Krylov, who was already in the top 15, in his last fight. He’s won all his UFC fights in the first round. He’s Chechen and lives in Türkiye; he doesn’t even have a Turkish passport yet, but he fights under the Turkish flag because he loves Türkiye so much. This isn’t something we see very often. Since we don’t have many top-tier fighters in this field, fighters like Abdurrahman are incredibly valuable to us.

The mark of a good fighter is bringing that the fight you are in demands. This is what Yan did in this and the last fight against Merab. He fully scouted the takedowns, he slowed him down with the jabs along with body kicks and punches. I've watched some fights were there was a clearly better fighter but they couldn't fight the way they needed to win on the night.

That is ufc 336. We just had 333, so there will be 2 fight cards before them and some prelims too.
