What the chart show is the price movement of ETH in USD value. It is only an upward trend because it was being pulled up by the uptrend price of bitcoin. But if you check its BTC value, it almost left unchanged with little movement. This bull run may have a different effect on ETH. In 2017, ETH ICO and its smart contract were at its peak. Right now, almost no one is investing in ICO because of scams that can also cause slow movement for ETH even on a crypto bull run.

I cannot say that ETH is a good contender to bitcoin though ETH is in 2nd position in coinmarketcap who has the nearest position to replace the bitcoin. But if you have followed them for a long time then you can notice that ETH price will not move especially if the bitcoin price is not moving also.

In other words, ETH price is dependent to bitcoin price therefore in my conclusion there is a below 3% possibility that ETH can replace bitcoin in the future.

Seems like the answer is Yes, it is following the market pumps, ETH value is above $260 right now.
I hope 2019 will be better than before, because the bear market has occurred for long time enough.

I hope so.. dam its a shame i sold my eth when it got $140 i bough them in $70  but i supposed this is all about getting profit and dont look back.. the main objective its no to loss money. and dont doubt your instint men.. the time i have doubt about it are the times i have lost the most. Just dont skip your stop loss

Good for you. My Eth experience is not actually so rosy. I bought some Eth when it reached $350 in 2017 thinking that it can go back to the $1000 level it once reached. Now, I am cheering Eth to go ahead and maybe at least reach $500 so that I can realize some good profits. I can still remember the days when I looked at the monitor and saw Eth at just $10...I should have bought at least 10 at that time but doubts creeped into my mind.

Eth was the the blackship of the crypto market last year, even while some made certain recovery, it kept sinking down without any reasonable rebound until it got to around $120, now it seems this will be a good year for etherium and I have taken position and quite hopeful about it.

Whenever bitcoin grows its always expected for altcoins to grow as well so ETH will keep growing if bitcoin continue to surge in price ,I don't think ETH can grow on its own anymore if bitcoin is not surging

Yes of course, I don't know why it took a lot of time before we began to see a growth in the price of ethereum, it shouldn't be so since the bull run in bitcoin has begin already, though it's still not a bad thing since we are already seeing a growth in the price of ethereum and other Cryptocurrency in the Crypto market, I believe we are going to see more bull run in the price of ethereum in this few months, the target should be $400 or more though a little bit.

Since most of altcoins' price dependent on bitcoin price, i think eth will get benefited too. Didn't expect for eth to hit above $200 even $250 in Q2. I hope the market keep growing.

wel we dont know actually is this the start from dump since early 2018, and we all know its the first time in this year all coin reach ATH.
like eth to 200$ and bitcoin above 8000$, if this continue growing maybe in q3 or early q4 bitcoin will reach 10k$.

I usually don’t like the fact we are not encouraging these projects with our slow move mentality, the fact that they did a dramatic increase in the last bull does not mean we should always believe that it is the way they will forever be operating, that last performance you talked about was just because market was simply manipulated.

We are the ones always encouraging the whales to manipulate the market, so now, we want whale to come gain, manipulate the market, increase ETH to $2000 and then we dump it back to $200 for us to know that ethereum and some other coins are performing naturally with their project. The most important thing is that they are increasing in value, no matter how slow.

I prefer to see eth move as snail as its grow. That shows on how strong it is and moving positively gradually. Moving like bitcoin is also good but I'm more positive if it moves doesnt like the king. It is near $250 now and I'm very much happy to see that this is the all positive sign that we are waiting for.

It was as slow as a snail for many months. I am glad that it is going fast up. Many people will be able to get their profit and return money. I wish to see the time when Ethereum is offered for more than a thousand again, and we will think - what is it to do better - to hold it as it is going up or sell it? bitcoin has moved up, do you expect it to be more expensive now? that might happen to bitcoin, but for altcoins I don't think there will be many who follow the growth of bitcoin. look at the market now, maybe you can see the altcoin that is following the growth of bitcoin now.

all possibilities will ultimately benefit ethereum. too fast rising, can make prices unstable. and rising slowly can strengthen prices, so when the market falls ethereum is not too severe.

if I can choose I prefer to go up slowly, because it's good for other altcoins. so not many people will convert their tokens to ethereum. Token prices don't drop too much when there is an increase, isn't that good?

If this bull run is confirmed, then I don't think only Bitcoin is going to rise. Every other coin with a strong team and working product also has the potential to rise. Although ETH's bull looks quite slower as compared to the pace at which BTC is running.
