I'm curious to know what the community thinks in terms of how user friendly entering this market is? I know we've come a long way from the days when UX/UI was extremely poor for most companies but are there other areas that require improvement?

As for me, it's user-friendly but there are just some areas where you should have the eagerness to learn about. People would not have it in terms of investment and mode of payment if it isn't user-friendly. It's causing too much convenience and the blockchain technology is even making things in the finance area lighter. Sometimes, we are thinking that cryptocurrency itself is not easy to use but it sometimes depends on the wallets that we're using.

Bitcoin is one of the most user-friendly cryptocurrencies in existence. Once you understand what a private key is and the basic concept behind the blockchain then it is extremely simple to access. Sending and receiving money using a private key is fun and makes payments a snap. If you are new, I would go on YouTube and learn as much as possible before buying your first coins.

People find it more user friendly to use bitcoin through whatever every wallet, for the same users should learn some basics about the use of cryptocurrencies. When years pass the usage will increase and automatically more and more applications will come with much user friendly access. Earlier people found it a difficult thing to use smartphones and now everyone have got adopted to its usage. Same is happening with cryptocurrency.

Honest answer: no. The string of numbers and characters makes it somewhat intimidating for first time users who aren't familiar with computers. Most of my friends whom I introduced bitcoin to literally can't grasp the concept of receiving using only those strings. Also, most wallets still use jargon that aren't comprehensive/helpful enough for your average newbie, hence the mistakes a lot of newbies made. I know that bitcoin has a steep learning curve for the technologically challenged, but then again if one can point them to an easy to understand tutorial, perhaps things will change.

Bitcoin is multifunctional and it plays a lot of roles in users and the economy so I could say that it's user-friendly and I have no doubt about that. Crypto community wouldn't grow fast if they're having trouble using cryptocurrency but it's more convenient compared to fiat. We could access it anytime and anywhere.

It is user friendly. More user friendly than fiat. We live in a generation where everything is accessible through internet. And I think bitcoin makes it easy. Also, the technology behind bitcoin is really good not like boring fiat. But not everyone is accepting bitcoin payments. The price also is a factor on how it pulls people. Plus the factor of decentralization where you fill protected and anonymous.

The truth is that you must not be s technological savvy to be part of cryptocurrency but you must at least have some knowledge of the internet and technology except you want some one else to do most of the things for you

Bitcoin Core is much more user friendly than when it first came out. I think in the future, using crypto will be significantly easier

Hell no.
The services to buy it do not make your life easy getting into them, though they're not to blame for that.
Once you have it, the options to store and spend it will look very confusing to the uninitiated.
If someone is recommended Mycelium they're going to be faced with seeds, Segwit or legacy addresses, fee estimates and more.
It's no big deal once you're up to speed, but many will run away in tears before that moment.
Since capacity is limited it's probably for the best that it isn't a total breeze. It'll be interesting to see how something designed for a five year old will work.

From the user end: I'm not sure what can be done more to make it more user-friendly. There are many things that even a child can use easily. From Android applications to web wallets. Take the look at Coinbase wallet as an example, how to make it easier to use? Really hard.
From the merchant end: perhaps this is where there are still a lot of things to make. If merchants (small or big, online or offline) are not very excited about the idea of accepting Bitcoin it may be that on their side they don't really have 'user-friendly' solutions (knowing that they are not in Bitcoin, it's something brand new for them). They can face several problems like to adapt their terminal (which can only be done by the banks) or install a wallet themselves, making a TX, exchanges, accounting, framework, etc, etc.

If you are really experienced in the use of cryptocurrencies like myself then you would have no problem making transaction in bitcoin or cryptocurrencies. All you have to do is to read and understand how to make transactions with the use of cryptocurrencies and you would have no problem with it.

I think that wallet and applications developers have made a very good job lately at improving the UI for both desktop and mobile platforms. You have wallets with simple commands like send, receive, see transaction history, etc. The design of most wallets are modern and clean. I don't know how cryptocurrency use could be made more user friendly to be sincere..

Using bitcoin or any other crypto currency is actually quite user friendly. It's just the same way of using Paypal or other payment gateway to send or receive coins. Instead of the email address, you put in the bitcoin address of the user you want to send coins to and just press send. That is it. It can't be more simpler than this!

Let's be honest crypto is not for your Grandma and Grandpa. They will never ever able to adjust to the new system.
Even most of the middle aged morons don't understand what's going on right now. I'd say at least half of them use their iphones only to check their stupid facebook photos.
Only the millenials and half of the gen Y members will be able to understand and use crypto.
It is not about the User Interface. It is about understanding the technology. Once you get what bitcoin is and how it works, UI doesn't really mean shit.

Using bitcoin and crypto, is not really that hard, if you are a beginner all you need is a wallet that you can easily sign up to get on one of the online apps like coinbase and blockchain and than you are good to go to start earning some crypto, but as you dive more deeper into this world, you start exploring and learning the ropes you discover more ways that require more knowledge and understanding, for example how to set up an offline wallet and private keys to secure your funds.

To get a real picture its depends if the topics relay on personal or general use in term of all people, start with personal will depend to the level of adapting technology meaning blockchain technology, level of knowledge and capacity to have internet tools, device, wifi or cellular network, In general isn't user friendly compare to the world engagement on bitcoin/cryptocurrency is not much compared to the populations we have although there are some wallet and exchange tries to simplify the use of it.

Currently, No! It is somehow become the biggest problem in the cryptocurrencies ecosystem in term of UX/UI design. Especially older generation who arent keep up with technologies, What we need to do is to make a thing that is easy to access, What I mean is, so the newer generation could one-time taught to them, and hopefully, it is easy enough for them. Nevertheless, it would come to different problems since cryptocurrencies have 'BYOB' motives, it will be hard for them to manage the seeds and private keys.
Although It becomes a significant problem, it doesn't mean, a good UI/UX doesn't exist on Cryptocurrency. IMO, Exodus wallet and Delta portfolio apps really have a user-friendly design. I'd like to see more platform follow their path, even though an improvement still could be made.

It's not easy to tell since you need to put yourself in someone else´s shoes before answering this question. For us, everything is easy, we know how things work and we are used to it, but for someone who is new, things can be complicated, especially when it comes to keeping and being responsible for their keys. This is why centralized custodial services, where users only need a username and a password, exist.
