Yeah, as time went by and by the projects developers kept on learning from the flaws of old devs and are increasingly building more easy to understand and use platforms. For instance, trading started without mobile apps until more recently that we got almost every exchange developing an app to help improve user convenience. So yeah you're right, time has really done us good.

It's user friendly if you use third party services to guide you. For an example: exchanges. Choose a local trustful exchange to deal with bitcoins. They will have an user friendly intuitive platform in your own language, and if it's not enough for you yet, there will be an online support to answer your questions.
What isn't user friendly are the price fluctuations on the market, it will probably scare you at the beginning, but everything scares a little at the beginning, right?

Bitcoin is user friendly, its not hard to used and do transaction using bitcoin, but for some newbie maybe need to get used to it a little, btc transaction system is a bit different with the existing transaction system, it may seem complicated when they saw the long address and people mention the block confirmation but once you got used, it's pretty simple

Well it depends on how you use crypto. If you are just using it as a currency for trading with goods or physical items yes it is very userfriendly especially if you are trading with a user on a different side of the Earth. You will just send your crypto within minutes they will received it and then theyll send you the item.

Bitcoin, as it is, is very technical thus I think it is not user friendly. However, there are many software that caters to user's ease of experience like mobile wallets.

I think it's hard for the non technical people to understand cryptocurrency at first but when they do learn about it it will be easy to use and is user friendly. Especially on the number side like conversion of btc to eth to fiat etc, but its easy because we can google it and we can know the conversion instantly.

Bitcoin / Cryptocurrency must be used with ease, it is easy to use day after day. Any one can use it through an app if the user wants it. It will be added to the new technology in future. Now it will be easier to use.

I think cryptocurrency is very user friendly, very easy to use, you only need to learn a little about crypto and you will understand how it works

For me and for others, its not user friendly and what I mean user friendly is it is not that easy to understand. Bitcoin is complex for me because of its coding that only a professional programmer or a cryptographer can understand and edit. For us newbie and average people who doesn't know programming, it will be complex.

Now in terms of usage, maybe it is easy for some here because you will just scan the QR code and put the amount and you're done but for those people who doesn't have smartphone it will be hard for them.

I think Bitcoin/Cryptocurrency especially the many Altcoins in the market right now are available on a wide range of exchanges and it's pretty easy to get on those exchanges to trade - you can get a digital wallet to store your coins on many sites, including on exchanges and more importantly, there have been a lot of upcoming blockchain projects that offer their own digital wallets as well. Additionally, there are new crypto projects and their corresponding tokens appearing every day - and these projects offer to solve a problem seen in for example, traditional payment processes, or for users like us to bypass intermediaries and gain access to a product or service directly without paying extra fees. In general I think once you get past the initial stage of trying to figure out how to trade with Bitcoin and cryptocurrency, and also gain more insight into the many projects and their tokens, it becomes much easier! The only downside to it is depositing and withdrawing fiat from the cryptocurrency you have - but I've also seen great projects that provide debit cards along with their wallets so you can actually directly convert and use the crypto you have at physical stores to pay for items, so if you're talking about user friendly in this sense, that it's definitely becoming more user friendly!

I'm curious to know what the community thinks in terms of how user friendly entering this market is? I know we've come a long way from the days when UX/UI was extremely poor for most companies but are there other areas that require improvement?
I am not concern about UI/UX even in the past will be in the future . I am more concern about bitcoin Offchain transaction or segwit implementation so that it will be more user friendly to use it in normal life . For ethereum POS implementation to speed up transction speed and limit maximum supply .

The situation has changed a lot with time but still there are areas of improvement, some of the countries are still struggling to find legit companies to purchase bitcoin with ease mainly because of lack of regulation and the banking sector is not that friendly in most of the countries and when that situation changes, there will be a massive adoption. A legit company with a global P2P network would be a great idea to solve these issues as that company will act as a trusted escrow to safe guard and monitor everything.

There is already a lot of innovation on cryptocurrency especially on Bitcoin, especially we are on the generation of the mobile device. Being user-friendly in cryptocurrency is really common now, especially most of the people now are using their mobile devices, much easier to operate compared to desktop computers or laptops.
If being user-friendly is the problem, there's a lot of alternatives, for example, if they don't want mobile devices to buy some bitcoins because it's too small or not responsive (if in website), they can use their laptops to use cryptocurrency.

for beginners bitcoin is not user friendly, why do I say that, because at the beginning of knowing bitcoin I did not understand how to buy and use a wallet. maybe I'm stupid, I have to ask friends and use the search engine to understand how bitcoin and blockchain work. takes time to understand, because I will not risk losing money because of my lack of understanding. as a beginner it's natural if I don't want to take risks and the many issues of scam make beginners more careful.

As you have said, a long time ago UX/UI in Linux was a problem "to adopt" this operating system. Nowadays any user can use the vast majority of distros.
I think it will happen the same with Bitcoin and sure we don't have to wait so much time as it has needed to improve UX/UI at Linux.

What do you think?

With more new applications that were getting developed it is possible to make cryptocurrency and bitcoin user friendly to all levels of people. With beginners too it isn't that difficult, because if they make a transaction once they'll get to know good about it. Further on using bitcoin for few times they'll more comfortable using it further.

Many application, releases, and "user-friendly" tool are being integrated, but it's not enough, really not enough to make crypto accessible to housekeepers. Even news doesn't help to absolutely non-technical "housekeepers" who could get involved with 1 click, no more, and absolute guarantee of safety. But do we need that friendliness? Crypto is a thing invented mainly for future generations, fresh people with digital blood, and they will have no problem with installing their wallets or keeping private keys away from prying eyes.

As for me, it's user-friendly but there are just some areas where you should have the eagerness to learn about. People would not have it in terms of investment and mode of payment if it isn't user-friendly. It's causing too much convenience and the blockchain technology is even making things in the finance area lighter. Sometimes, we are thinking that cryptocurrency itself is not easy to use but it sometimes depends on the wallets that we're using.

True, if you ask questions about UI / UX, then everyone's answers will be relative. Maybe for someone who understands bitcoin for a long time, this is easy but not for a newcomer, maybe like math.

Sure enough, that convenience depends on the wallet of each coin. In my opinion, in terms of UX, there are still many who do not meet the criteria. But I am sure that in the future it will be more developed.

I find bitcoin stupidly easy to use but I do have a slight technical background growing up.  The biggest thing for newbies is not falling for scams.  A lot of people fell for those recent electrum update messages that were fake.  I'll admit, those were convincing to me as well but I went and checked on the forum if they were legit or not.

As for me, the major turn off is the ewallet management.
I'm not a trader, so I use a Nano L., and having to manually klick the two buttons on the little bug in order to enter the right code ...
Then there are the Ledgers updates. How to do them without wiping out everything...
The seed words. Where do I hide them etc.
