Since you are newbie in crypto world you need first understand the difference between shitcoin and top altcoin becuase a lot of shitcoin are in the market I suggest pick an altcoin with a good reputation or trusted by over a year like ethereum, ripple, eos and bnb this altcoin have a high potential to bring you a good profit in the future.

I guess this is a good coin to trade, but I would be warry about the dump since its been going up for some time now.  It is hard to be caught up in a pump,  so I guess OP must take a deeper look about BNB before he invest in.

If you want a safe altcoins can choose at the top 30 coins at the coinmarketcap mate. Just check the volume market and how traders are active to trade the coins. Observe the actual movement of the price while on trade. But as much as possible buy Ethereum, Ada, xbx and Nem.

That is a tough question.

You are basically just want to follow other recommendations without realizing that even how good those coins are, it still depends on your own hands how will you execute your strategy to make profits. Not because others here suggested their recommended coins, it does mean that you will have the same good result.

If I say "bitcoin", what will you do? hodl for long? day trades? buy every dip? shorting?

If I say "etherium" what will you do?

Once you put money on crypto, it will not stop there and just wait for profits. Investments is always accompanied by a good approach in order to make it successful in the long run. That will be your assignment.

This would probably be my suggestion as well, but honestly there's no telling--nobody here has a crystal ball and can tell you which coin is going to make you a quick profit, or any profit at all. 

And OP, there are a million threads like this, asking what to buy.  Everyone is going to advise you to buy the coin that they're holding, and you can't really trust that kind of biased advice.  A lot of altcoins are down right now, so stick with the big-name ones that are trading at a *relatively* low price.  I've been buying NEO and PIVX, but I'm not suggesting you do the same--and PIVX isn't really one of the big players like ETH, LTC, and those kinds of coins.

I think you should seriously consider about BNB and ETH. These coins have been gaining very high value lately and the cost of investment is not very high though. So you should have these coins in your portfolio and in addition to them. Litecoin is not a bad deal. I think you should seriously consider about BNB and ETH. These coins have been gaining very high value lately and the cost of investment is not very high though. So you should have these coins in your portfolio and in addition to them. Litecoin is not a bad deal. Regarding Ethereum, it has been terribly underperfoming recently and there is no light at the end of the tunnel (whatever it might be). And what adds even more insult is its subpar performance compared to, say, EOS which had been an Ethereum token but now runs on its own blockchain and thus is a separate cryptocurrency. If we look at the trading volumes of these two coins (I use Bitfinex data), EOS seems to be a better choice

Litecoin seems to be a good choice

It is good for both short-term trading as it likely has the highest level of volatility among major cryptocurrencies and long-term holding as it has shown consistent gains during the last 3-4 months. Well, all major altcoins have shown consistent gains recently (along with Bitcoin and partially being fueled by Bitcoin's spectacular growth) but let's not forget that Litecoin halving is just around the corner, so we should expect at least some hype before the halving followed by the supply squeeze soon thereafter and culminating with a refreshing change in price (not that Litecoin's price has been stale but you get the point)

I think you should seriously consider about BNB and ETH. These coins have been gaining very high value lately and the cost of investment is not very high though. So you should have these coins in your portfolio and in addition to them. Litecoin is not a bad deal. Try to make sure you have a low cost of investment and then you would be able to make good profits.

We have the bull market going on right now and let me tell you that if you invest even in Litecoin, you would be able to make some good money. BNB and ETH are pretty much demanded and have been in good vibes. TRON is a god token to invest with right now as they are in the development phase and  they  already have a lot of projects under their wing. Doge on the other hand isn't really meant for keep, but for trading.  Cardano and  IOTA and the rest that is  mention  are the cheaper coins, buy more  of it for we may not see how  low it is today than in the  next few years

Yes, that coins are a low price and have the potential to increase later.
I agree that buy some of them will allow making a profit later.
But don't forget to analyze the price so we can get the right price and then we need to wait for a while until the price increase.
Besides of that coin, we have so many choices for the coins to buy and that coin will have the same opportunity to increase so don't just stick on one coin only if we have so many coins.

Check the coins in the top twenty market list and you have to do your own study rather than listening to anyone else before investing your money, everyone will have their own opinion when it comes to investments but you never know whether these advice will have some incentives to promote that coin, so never trust any advice you get online for free, just spend your time to learn about the project and then come to a conclusion.

The best thing you can do is be able to buy everything you can in bitcoin, and if you want to have some altcoins it is best to buy those that are in the top of the top 5 in CMC, This is because always this type of coins they are very similar in structure and history to bitcoin.

I agree about buying bitcoins and some altcoins from the top 5. Thats something that each of us have to do before everything, to have some bitcoins, some ethereum, but dont underestimate other coins. When you are talking of altcoins, kindly learn to always distinguish them or class them into two. It is not all altcoins that are risky, when we talk of altcoins that are risky, we can talk of maybe those ones that are below top 100, while from the top 100, the ones with the to 50 are highly reliable.

I think you would agree with me that coins like Ethereum, EOS, Binance and many of them out their cannot really be seen as risky investment, though if one is to pick the most reliable coin, it will be bitcoin, which is why I usually implore people to focus more on bitcoin more before diversifying to other top altcoins.

LOL, and you have actually said the fact, you need to see how people’s opinion has led a lot of people into making a very big mistake. That same opinion is what led so many people into making the mistake of buying bitcoin at ATH in 2017 without personally doing their own analysis.

I think they will be good in future. Right now, I cannot say that there is great potential in TRON and Ripple. Ripple is great but Tron has been in hot water lately. There are some great coins in the market as well and if you have plans to invest in any of them and make some good money, better go for the best coins and not Tron or ripple.

Of course that was one of the foolish mistake they made when they invested in Bitcoin at ATH and they never recovered after then. It was no doubt a worst investment decision. I always read people suggesting the top 100, I guess that is playing safe.
We know they are in the top 100 for a reason, but their development does not automatically say it's a success in the future.
Bitcoin for instance is just a safe coin where we think  would again give us a big return like in the past, but the truth is we have

Since you are confused, it is better you select the coins that are already popular and a lot of people are investing in it. Currently, BNB as well as TTC are doing very well. If you are convinced with the performance, you can go ahead and invest in it.

I thought TTC was just a typo error and you mean BTC why you type, but it was a legit coin here - https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/ttc-protocol/#markets. Honestly, I don't know this coin, and although it has a great volume but I haven't see some hype on this one.
Probably the coins listed in Binance are a better choice, they have great support and the volume is good really, especially if Binance continues to improve.

I have TTC on my portfolio and still among my watch list, I invested in them because of I have this believe after going through their whitepaper that they will come out to be outstanding in future too, but didn’t get much hype because of the bear market that has affected most of the coins we also believe in.

One outstanding thing I like about TTC is that it has always been appreciating ever since it was introduced, even if it is not much, and this coin has never experienced any form of artificial pump that could lead to sudden dumping. I guess they really have a solid working product that is making them have slow increase organically.

You cannot select coin to trade based on the good news surrounding the exchange hosting it, but it has to be based on good news concerning the project itself. The fact that Binance Is having so many goods news today doesn’t mean you can trust all the coins you see in their platform.

There are still so many projects that will have issue in future and turn to a shitcoins on their platform, but what a trader should be after first whether he wants to be a short trader or a long term trader is how quality the coin project is and how reputable the developers of these coins to be traded is, then he can then apply the other strategies to make the trade interesting.

For a newbie the best strategy is to stick to the most well known coins like BTC or LTC, trying to find good coins among the thousands of coins in the market is not a task that a newbie can do efficiently, in fact we see proof of this every day in the forum, a newbie invest in a coin that no one knows thinking that he has discovered the next bitcoin only to realize too late they have discovered yet another scammer that will never allow them to see their money again.

There is a project called Hubrison coin of which is HBRS. It was launched on exchange on 1st May or nearby, ICO price of HBRS was $.03 but after its launch on exchange price reduced to 3 satoshi. Hubrison main product is still under development and its expected to get launched in next 20-30 days. Its a crypto wallet with unique features. Currently HBRS is not trading on any big exchange but team planning to get it listed on some big exchange with launch of their main product. That is the problem of trying to rely only on the advice of others for your investment decisions, you will not know if the information they are giving is accurate, this is why trading or investing using only the advice of someone else is such a bad idea, what we must do is to try to learn as much a we can about the market, test our strategy using the past data, and determine if our strategy earns money, if it does not then you need to develop a new strategy but if it does you can deploy it in the market and make money that way.
