Rightly said, a scam exchange will have no problems conducting a scam IEO,which essentially will not be different if the project was an ICO.These is nothing stopping a fraudulent team even dumping their own coin on the exchange.

With the rise of almost all exchange sites doing IEO, I think the ICO scam has turned to be the IEO we hear of these days so no new thing has been done. I know of exchange that do IEOs that don't have any good effect on the project or to the investor. The only thing is that in an IEO, the coins are sold on the exchange instead of waiting for coins to be distributed or unlocked after tokensale

you will expect that this is another level of scamming people. and now it is tied-up with the exchange. more then likely, you will find it in new and small exchanges holding their own IEOs. and since it is the new hype in town, everyone wants to have their ieo launch pad.
people should not bite the bait easily. do their own due diligence first...

Not all IEOs will bring benefits, only good projects and in good exchanges that investors will pursue. Fraudsters will always be present when there is a gap to do so, including in the IEO.

IEO can only turn out to be scam if the exchange offering the ieo fails to do the necessary diligence in the choice of project they support. But the chance of such happening is very slim.

I think because of spam ICOs people lost faith about entire ICO market. But with IEO people have faith about reputation about exchange. So investors will safely invest on IEOs those launch on good exchanges. IEO market will be survive more time than ICO market.

I've read some of above comments here, so i conclude that even big exchanges and a most trusted market accepts malicious projects and make people crying in the long run. so, much better to make a wise decisions in our own study when getting or engaging in investments with IEO or ICO ways.

Yes some ieo may be scam but I really think it will be hard to get away with the funds as the exchange that conduct the ieo will hold the funds for some reason and will be the one to account for such act , so the coin will get listed and be tradeable on the exchange so I cant really be a scam project only if it does not follow its roadmap and the product it wanted to produce for the benefit of the user.

at the moment I have not found a scam IEO, but IEOs that have not reached my target often see it and as a result the price is getting cheaper. maybe the IEO like that lack of investors and also the team lacks experience in their field.

IEO wants scam or no longer depends on exchange listed it. As simple as small exchange also IEO, the possibility of losses on such IEO projects will be very large, because such exchange does not have a large volume to pump after the end of IEO.

IEOs do not conclude that the project is a legit one. There are as many fake exchanges that will not do any due diligence before conducting an IEO on their exchange so the pattern continues and people are rekt of their precious money. It's up to us to still do our due diligence before investing in some of these projects. IEO does not guarantee the success of a project.

We really cant avoid it but we can lessesn it to happen through proper reviews to the projects. So for now, to avoid invest with the scam IEOs. It's hard to generalize all things, but in another topic, I thought that I raised basic steps to avoid potential scam IEOs. The more careful steps we do before investing, the less odds to invest in scam IEOs. In addition to this, upon investing choose the best kind of project like the dencoin tokens. It such a project with outmost potential to all investors.

You still cannot compare this with the ICO era where sales are mostly conducted through the ICO sites and funds are collected directly by developers, currently we may not remember a lot of the names of the ICO's that exited scam but any exchange that consistently lists scam IEO is already killing itself, so it is better as Exchanges won't want to lose their customers because of IEO launch, that is why they should be careful before listing any coin. The only way for the IEO to become scam is when they cooperating with new exchanges that suddenly emerged, this kind of exchange not all of them mostly cannot resist a big money temptation, sometimes they are created just to scam people in a way of IEO. so we need to be careful when dealing with new exchanges lets just trust old and reputable exchanges for now.

The reason for scam is that people are willing to get scammed as they will invest in anything flashy and if you combine some technical words that are hard to understand for the normal investor, then they think it is a noble project they are working and to get a profit they will invest without checking whether the said project is a feasible one or the team behind it are legit and so is the reason we saw many scams in the market, IEO are a new thing now and scammers will find a way to get involved in it and once you stop investing money in random projects without any recognized developers, then these scams will stop.

What are differences between large and small markets? And how such small and large markets affect on success of IEOs? I thought IEOs depend on exchanges that run IEOs themselves. How they develop their platforms? How they support their customers? How much their daily liquidity are? How they survive over time in such very competitive crypto exchange industry? Lastly, whether will they end as scam-exit exchanges or not? Therefore, in general, IEOs are risky, and investors should always invest in IEOs of big exchanges, but unfortunately the fact is it is hard for them to invest in big exchanges' IEOs.
