There could be some factors, not only just a downloaded virus in your computer.
If you were using private key to unlock your eth wallet, you might be have been phished.
Unfortunately you cannot do anything of it, once the balance sent, it cannot be reversed.

to prevent this hacking, better to use our jason file when we want to access our wallet.using private key really risky now since many phising link come to our email or other place.this is good action to protect our wallet.

sorry for you Once the transaction has been successfully completed, you will not be able to ask anyone to refund your money. Don't be discouraged, I have been hacked more than 12 ETH and I have been more careful about storing the coins.
You should buy cold wallet, Ledger Nano S and it will make your coin safe. Besides, never download strange applications, it carries lots of viruses.

Thats nothing can do and make it a lesson and experience for you. Make a new one and make sure that is the real address of myetherwallet then bookmark it. Make sure you save your private key safely and if accessing myetherwallet, make sure you use the address that you bookmarked.

Much better if the user installed a strong security antivirus instead of letting go this kind of situation. Creating a new wallet for preventive reasons is definitely certain, but of the circumstances begins in the personal computer then maybe the computer is now in danger zone of the hacker that uses a virus type to intrude the system. Probably it's a hacking software that invades the system.

It means your wallet is easy to hack for the hackers, or you might just enter some of the phishing site were you've been trap in that site.
So, my advise with you is at once change the wallet eth address that you are using it now, better to create a new wallet, new password, and new private key, due to its safe anymore to use it again.

Unfortunately we cannot do anything on it. Because the etherwallet or MEW cannot recover your account. That is why they give us backup key in case we lost our account. You may be a victim for a scam phishing attack. Really sorry.

Here is the answer for why it happened. This is some kind of madness. Download an unknown wallet that could easily be a virus, and even keep your private keys on the desktop,amazing mistakes.
